Love that exact emerge. I’m not able to get my money’s worth out of them on our cover cropped ground, but when custom planting soybeans on a prepared seedbed, I’ve been up to 12-13 mph and still 99.5%. I have won over a following with my 20” pitch on beans. Made some big believers. What I can cover with two 90’ toolbars at that speed, it’s not worth building or buying a planter for what I charge.
@Matt Phillips that I'm not sure ... I think it was 20% here in sw iowa if I remember right....now we just use refuge in a bag - so everyone's removed the refuge plus units from their planters ...
@@Blackearthexcavationandtiling i seen the refuge plus or ssomething to that on that bulk tank and was guessing you guys still had to deal with that % the old way there not knowing if the % planted was different from here i have been retired from 2015 and the rib was just gaining traction here in my state IN
That would be neat! ... I did talk to some engineers there before, and a couple of my ideas are currently patented with JD because of it .... but that's about as far as any of its ever went ... I am working on a combine build video - you'll have to stay tuned for it - it will be a good one! ...
I work at John Deere at the Engine Works factory. I truly enjoy your videos and enjoy seeing all of your great John Deere equipment. I have been a subscriber since you pulled that 460 out of the shed. I really liked when you talked about how much better that 13.6 liter in that 9R you just bought. Keep it up!
i always enjoy your rebuilds. You take something old and make it better than new...talented
Thank you very much! I sincerely appreciate the compliment

Looks like you will be exercising your thinking skills have fun and thanks
What was wrong with the marker arms that came on the tool bar ?
They were bent and broken (had been welded up) ...
Doing this exact same thing with refuge tanks but on a 16R30" 1720.
Nice! Good deal!
Gonna be pretty damn sharp. And would work on that 4620 or 4850. Good excuse to keep and run them .
Thanks very much
I’ve been wanting to build the same thing.
she'll be a nice planter when your done! Wish I had one for bean planting that'd be slicker than shit.
Thanks very much! ... mainly we plan to use it just for early soybeans - but it can also do corn ....I'm excited to get it into operation ...
I have one of those refuge setups setting out behind the shop because I thought I may use it someday but never have found a project for it 🙄
Oh wow ... I wish we'd spoken earlier! ...I had a heck of a time finding two of them ...
Hello! I'm late...😊
Could i ask what type monitor bracket you use on the command arm ?
In the 6120M .. I built everything myself
if you cant buy it build it
Do you have access to a powder coat facility?
We do ...but not for anything this physically big....
Interesting rebuild
Yes it is!
can you not get your corn seed all ready mixed ike e can here they cal it RIB refuge in a bag
Yes we do ... now ..but at one time it wasn't sold that way ...
@@Blackearthexcavationandtiling was not sure if that rib was a state by state amount mandate or not and if they had it there in your state

Gonna be a cool build!
Thanks!
John Deere should hire you to be an engineer
