Arnel deserves to have a welcome reception tour, putting the band back on map! So good!
Finally new Journey music! Kick ass song and Arnel sounds better than ever. I'm excited to see them live with the new rhythm section! Steve Perry will always be the GOAT in my heart. Journey did it right with Arnel and his humbleness shines through. Arnel has his own unique amazing tone and has done a brilliant job keeping the Journey legacy alive. I'd still kill to see Arnel and Steve on stage together just for ONE song!! The world could use that right now.
I am happy to hear Arnel finally sing an original song in his voice and not covering the old songs. I am faithfully a journey fan of the 70's, 80's and 90's( and yes Mr. Perry's solo work too). This era is fading into the midnight sun and time for a new one. I await patiently for the rest of the new Album with open arms and mind to see if Arnel can take us on a midnight train to anywhere. I am an older small town girl waiting on my boulevard to see what the lights ahead will bring

The new age of Journey, and another hope for the future
I like it!! Arnel sounds great and more like himself. Allowing him to be in his own zone is much better. This is how it should be. This is a new direction for Journey and a good one at at that. We all wish Journey could go back to the way they used to be but there isn't anyone or any band from back then the way they used to be. I wish them the best of luck.. Rock on .

It’s a good studio performance and a well written song. Doesn’t mean he’s going to start singing the classics better live. He’s still going to be flat and have strained vocals live.

I agree that Arnel seems to somewhat run out of steam on live concerts. And yet I think you could hardly find a voice that comes so close to Steve’s. I also like Arnel’s energetic stage presence- he really seems to be living his dream. If the new album is as good as this song it should be a huge success.

The UNIQUENESS or the difference of Sir ARNEL PINEDA among other artist is his injection of unique innovations when a vocalist performs in a band. And how he pours his heart and soul into each song as he interprets and sing at the same time. That’s why when The Journey through Neal Schon hand-picked Arnel, there was a Divine intervention in there I feel, knowing that Arnel would give justice to their songs. At the same, God heard and make perfection, His promises to Arnel to grant his wish of recognition not only to his fellow artists in the Philippines and its audience, instead, he gave the world a new energy and a twist in Journey’s songs. As for me, Arnel is never a copycat of any artist for”HE IS HIS OWN MAN OF AN ARTIST “. He does not want to replace Steve Perry because SP among other Journey’s singer has their own time with the group…. And I call it Phase 1 or the First Book of The Journey when they were still younger and middle aged men at the same time. Arnel Pineda, came in the Second Book of the Older Journey…. He is in the Phase 2 or the Phase 2 per se along, Sir’s Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain, Deen Castronovo and Ross Valory.
What I’ve said above were my opinion during my experience of hearing Journey with Arnel Pineda in main Vocals. I don’t even know, Sir Arnel when he was still based in the Philippines. I first hear him sing in You Tube with their stint in Chile in 2008. I was shocked that the main voice was a Filipino among a group of seasoned artist that of Journey. The rest is history and the beginning of my following and liking the Journey with Arnel Pineda as part of the band. Kudos ‘The Journey’.

Neil Schon was really looking for a powerful voice so that he can play his guitars to the maximum level without drowning the singer. Found Arnel Pineda!
Some still aren't convinced. Is he the same as Steve Perry? No but Pineda is killing it in show after show. I don't know how you'd find a better replacement.

When Journey hit it it big in the 80s , I did like Lovin , Touching, Squeezin and Don’t Stop Believing but due to my youthful elitism I considered Journey bland banana corporate rock Well time has changed me and that viewpoint is gone . My tastes in music are all encompassing. As far as time is concerned with Journey , their music has stood the test of it. Their songs just stuck with us .

Roxy, Eno, Bryan Ferry, man I love that stuff. Got to see Roxy at the Greek Theater maybe 12-13 years ago and it was fantastic. Ferry is an amazing front man, loads of charisma.

Arnel's voice fits the 80's band sound, that's why he can juggle between songs of the 80's bands and still give justice to the song.

I love how Arnel is being true to himself not Steve Perry. Musically the sound is different but stands strong on its own merits. Neal Schon has changed his signature guitar sound. Although it still has the familiar gut wrenching feel that I love so much. The song definitely draws on me emotionally like many Journey songs have over the years. As a die hard Journey fan it’s in the pocket. Fits very well into Journey lore. I’m hooked! Best Journey song in at least a decade.

Steve Perry is journey. Steve Perry wrote all of journey songs Neil and Johnathan got some writing credit but Steve done the most of the writing on all the songs

@@justinclark8867 Perry and Cain wrote Separate Ways backstage in less than 2 days with Perry on bass and Cain on guitar. Steve Perry plays drum and bass. Perry also has engineering background and led the creative process of the songs. Steve Perry came up with the arrangement of DSB, Cain talked about it in an interview with the The Tennessean.
