As a 1970's baby I loved everything John Byrne did. His artwork is second to none. The details in the backgrounds are amazing wether it be machinary or nature or a living room. The best time for comics in my life time
I loved Alpha Flight. I bought just about anything John Byrne was associated with back in the day. Even if he didn't write it, his artwork would always be amazing.
Really ???? I liked Alphaflight too, didn't know Byrne didn't want to do this comic series tho. John said in an interview that first issue of Alphaflight sold 600,000 copies. That comic with 6 blank pages was Byrne being very-LAZY. LOL.
What's great is they have a lot of really good characters. In fact it would be easy to fill out two and possibly three teams. What's not great often is the writing.
@@superheropow1 Well given their teams in training it could have gone either way. But like the X-Men they have good characters. Avengers, not so much. You think I wonder who they will use in the movies next. Then you look up the list of Avengers and go yikes. They have pretty much already used all the good ones. No wonder some of them are on the team so much.
@@rumbledumpthumpershaker6735 Can't disagree. The Avengers back field is pretty weak. Probably why they keep sticking Wolverine, Spider-Man and Power Man on the team. My fingers are crossed for a Alpha Flight movie some day!

what makes me really sad... is that if they could make guardians of the galaxy work and work very well... they could have EASILY made alpha flight work in the MCU. that being said... i think with super hero fatigue now, and alot of super hero movies flopping really hard... we'll never see alpha flight on the big screen :( with Guardian's Suit and later Heather's Suit, you have a really cool ironman/pepper dynamic again since what alot of people don't know is that yes guardian has an ironman like suit that is completely different... and they could have went this route instead of ironheart... but like i said.. at this point we'll probably never see alpha flight on the big screen and i breaks my heart

Always fun to hear more about John Byrne and his work.
Those first dozen or so issues of Alpha Flight were as gripping as any comics I ever read.
My first and only comic subscription!

John Byrne is a total genius.
Can't believe Byrne hated Alpha Flight - loved those first 20 or so issues!!
I enjoyed that vid a lot
Thank you :)
That first year of AF were amazing

If you want early Jim Lee and Mike Mignola go for the late 80s Alpha Flight . Very nice designs
Yes, poor Mike had to draw superheroes, before he could do what he really wanted :)

I have all of Byrne Alpha Flight. But i always liked teams. More bang for your buck.
I think that's why I got into the JLA as a kid! I get everyone in one comic! :)
nice!!
Great video would like to see a video of what happened to John Byrnes.

Personally I really liked that comic series shame it got the Axe Man!!!😉☮️🖤
Apparently the Alpha Flight are a little bit more exciting team than X-Men.
Not sure I'd go that far, but personally I am more of an Alpha Flight fan :)
Nothing was cool about Alpha Flight but I liked it anyway.
Ha- really :)
I don't see why John didn't get a letter from the Creators of Dr Who for Plagerism of the character of " The Master"!!!!!!
I'll bet they didn't even know! No Global Trade back then :p
There's also a character with that name on Buffy…
but he doesn't look as much like Roger Delgado as Alpha Flight's Master did.
