Your reviews are fantastic - I can't tell you how much I appreciate the detail. I have some relatively expensive/nice guitars, but have gotten into hunting the affordable, but quality, guitars the last few years. The Wolf/AIO brand has been my go to, but I bought the violet flame tempest and absolutely love it. I may have gotten lucky, but I can't find any fault with it, and I'm picky as heck. For someone who obsesses over every little detail and weighs what is acceptable for the price before clicking the buy button, your channel is perfection. Keep up the great work!
Still learning .... how to edit and do record video. Form my first upload to now they have been getting better. I hope that I will continue to get better. But a ZOOM LENS is after doing some upgraded mics. Thank You for letting me know what ya think needs to happen with the videos... It helps me learn and know what is missing.

Shoot, I was hoping the poor neck pocket fit I had found on the 2nd Madcat was actually just a broken edge like you found on the Tempest 17:19. Nope, just a poor fit on the Madcat :0( Boxed up again and waiting for the return label.

The way they left the middle point between the two routed areas on the wood for the battery compartment looks like it may be useful to give more wood around the screw holes. I think I would rather have it that way, and give the screw holes a bit more meat around them than not, especially if the battery compartment fits evenly.

Yes it's about 5/32 to 3/16 of an inch thick. Most of the time this is done by Burl blocks into a pressure container then a Epoxy Resin is poured into the container. The container is then pressurized to help the remove the air pockets. They could have just sliced the burl flat and then poured the epoxy around the burl slabs... Then ran it though a time saver. (wide belt sander) Dunno maybe a resaw ... then the timesaver ... There are a lot of ways of doing it.
You sir have a new sub this was good detailed info, thank you, and hello from La Porte Texas. The Head stock on this reminds me of the Schecter Reaper's. I have a bunch of cheap firefly guitars and several medium priced schecter's and a s1070pbz Ibanez and Gibson LP standard out of all of them the one I reach for is a Firefly tele I did some mods to, ( Emerson harness and SD La Brea PuPs ) the necks on the new FF are some of the best on a budget guitar I have found.

I have a Monsoon in Violet Flame. Just cam in 2 days ago.... Unboxing maybe tomorrow and starting the review.... Maybe.. I have another guitar that has been here for 2 months that keeps getting pushed back... But the Monsoon is a new release so it may be better to do that one. YES.... Kahler is stocking the Spider again ! ! ! Gary Kahler is the MAN ! ! ! ! Talking with him over the years has been great.. Still trying to get him to remake the 2700 KILLER ! When you call them ask for the KILLER model to come back ! The more he hears people asking about it, the more chances we have of them making it again... At this point I don't think FR could stop him again. anyway, the review on the Monsoon will be coming very soon !

YES I actually saw a video of him talking about the killer just the other day. It might have been rexylabs channel but I'm not sure now, it's been a few days. But he said the killer would be far to expensive. From what I heard he didn't make any money off it when it was out because the manufacturing cost was so high. He did say something along the lines of that it would be like $700 just for the killer if it did come back. That may have been a video from a few years ago, I didn't look to see the date. But yes the killer would be amazing and yes you can bet I'll ask for it. Personally speaking I have not ever had the real Khalers. The only one I had was the Khaler X-Trem which was on a Kerry King V that I had. I have always been a Floyd player until I got that V. But man let me tell ya, I fell in love with the XTrem. So smoothe and soft to use. And if you want to lock down the bridge then just one turn of a screw and it's locked ! I loved that feature as I tend to play rare and strange tunings such as C standard tuned at 432 instead of 440. Then other times I like to play at D standard so the lock really came in very handy. When our band Widows Regret was together we would have to have like 3 guitars each all at diffrent tunings just to practice lol. But yea bro, I'm waiting for that review ! That's gonna me awesome to see. I really appreciate how in depth you go into detail ! That truly helps us all alot ! So far as for the Leo Jaymz guitars, I think they are an amazing steal at the price their selling for. All I'm seeing bad is the frets but nothing some leveling can't fix. That is a Firefly FFMN. It has been reworked 100% by me to make it a SUPER BEATER ! I did look at the AXIS models but none of them had the FR bridge. So when this model showed up by Firefly ... I was hoping I could Hot Rod it and build a great guitar out of it. If you go to the channel home page click on videos... them guitar setups and mods.. you will find 6 or 7 videos on fixing this guitar. The first group of videos was me fixing the best I could with all STOCK PARTS... just tuning and setting up the guitar the best I could. The 2nd group of videos ... I mod the guitar and make it a super beater bar guitar. Bullet Proof Player! I have a little over 550.00 dollars in the guitar with the parts ... and way too many hours of work ...LOL ... But she is a player !! !!
I prefer beating on any Electric ,,,,, acoustically way before plugging in More intimate And if you hear a Shelly , Plastickie tone Your gonna like it pugged
I love active pickups..... The EMG 89 is my go to ACTIVE pickup. Yes Active pickups are punchier... But they can also pickup on more of your mistakes in picking and miss fretting. Playing cleanly is key to an Active Pickup. Some say they get more pick noise ... ?? Dunno about that.. But they do like Harmonics.. I think Pinch Harmonics are brighter and punchier with Active Pickups. Thanks for joining in and commenting !

Thanks for another comprehensive review! I've said it on a lot of your other videos, but your attention to detail really sets your channel apart. It's good to know that the fretwork is hit or miss. Do the Leo Jaymz DIY kits come with the Ball end frets ??? I think if I was doing the fret work on a DIY kit .. I would want standard frets. I can fix that .. but miss cut ball end frets ... well you can't do anything about that... Unless you re-fret.
I would guess the DIY kits have standard frets. Haven't got it yet, but when I do I will let you know. My main goal with this build is to have that ibanez jem shape but then finish it like the charvel pro mod dk24 in red ash.@@DominionFretWorks

Good review. This guitar has bad reviews almost everywhere... At my opinion, u should choose guitars with better reviews or that have not review at all on UA-cam. just my opinion. Bcz of this i thought abt the Haze or the Grassroots scalloped stratocasters.
I did this review due to all the HYPE this guitar was getting from.... "UA-cam Review Channels" I don't like doing negative reviews... Or maybe I should say reviews that put down a guitar. I reviewed this companies Tempest Model about a month ago... The guitar was ruff.. I will say it played well and I had fun playing it but the workmanship on the guitar was poor. With that said I wanted to make sure my review was in line with what this company's product were. I think they need to work on their Inlay Work. They need to work on getting their frets to set right down the neck of the guitar... The ball end fret is very hard to cut right and then install right. Dunno... This one is better than the last two models I received from Amazon selling the Leo Jaymz. I have one more Leo Jaymz setting here to review... I know it's like beating a DEAD HORSE... But I'm covering my bases with the product line from Leo Jaymz.
If I was doing a Scalloped Strat, the Fender YM Stratocaster would be on my list to look at! I have a NK with a full scalloped neck... Teaches me something every time I play it.

Commenting as I watch- I'm not a fan of that particular wilkinson bridge, personally. I really love the top on this guitar. It's a really nice design. Has some of the flash that I remember from the old Ibanez swirl paint jobs of yesteryear.
Ya this Bridge is not a good bridge ... I have measured the Center to center on this bridge... Sadly it does not align with a FR or a Kahler... This means a fill of the stock post holes... A reroute on the top with a redrill for the new post locations for a new FR or Kahler. I'm thinking about it... But have so many projects now.. LOL @@12to3Guitars

I wish reviewers measured the depth of the P/U and Control pockets. These dimensions are useful for people thinking of modding the guitar.

Ya ... if the guitar has a good loud sound to it not plugged in... It will sound good plug in for sure if it has good pickups.
