They're so copy-paste that I don't even read them anymore. The recaps all have the identical format. Mine some drama, weigh in, and then deliver the results.
@@FrigginCatsBruh I mean, it's not stupid or lazy, it's just the same shit over and over again. From a channel called "The Disc Golf World", I'd expect a little more than all drama nonsense no one cares about.

Been to several PGA tournaments over the years, and hearing the roar of crowds on other holes is very much a thing. Sure the 8 holes are loud but come on its the same for every player and every card on the course so...
Then why are you talking about it making a mountain out of a mole hill the greatest thing about Disc Golf is the proximity of the fans to the players. Just let things develop as they will naturally the fact that Disc Golf is still small is one of its tremendous charms.
We were on the hill between 10 green and 11 hole all weekend. 8am- 430 pm every day. The cheering was background noise but it was not insane. When matty O hit the ace on 14 it was WAAAYYYY louder than the 8 holes. like 2-3x louder. Its not a big deal this is what disc golf needs to be having fun and bringing energy. Id love to see more energy brought up to 10-13
Look, details, but how does one go from the name "Niklas Anttila" to "Nikklas Antilla"? Like..how. Just copy paste the name if there's any confusion. And I don't mean the content creator, the tweets had plenty of typos. It's just weird to me, that's all.
When the 8 Holes cheered on Ohn Scoggins by calling her name I thought it was super cool. I wish I had the kind of life where I could go to events and see these GREAT players. I would join the fans and dig it. And I would die from shame if I did anything to mess up a player during the match. I love playing disc golf and I love following along with the pros on UA-cam.
I was standing maybe 15ft away when the guy got in Niklas' way at the drop zone. Can confirm it was an honest mistake. That guy was definitely just there to help the kids sell popcorn and candy, had no idea he was in the way, and apologized immediately. Niklas looked a little annoyed but probably mostly because he had to make that scary drop zone putt. It was honestly pretty funny, especially hearing someone have to say "sir, that's a player" 😂 They immediately sprayed a white line around the drop zone, and the next day it was roped off.
@@VarianteMobile That's fair. I don't want the pros to play in a total vacuum; I do like a bit of Happy-Gilmore-ness in the tournaments. I think they're just right at the limit for me and I'm pessimistic that next year it will really piss me off
*YAWN* - yet again we've got a bunch of Karens who don't understand that disc golf IS NOT LIKE other sports. It's hilarious watching these people complain about stuff which have ALWAYS been features of our game/sport, and not bugs.
Watched a volunteer try to make Nate Perkins get off a fairway at Northwoods earlier this year. Couldn't believe he didn't know who he was. He was wearing a Disc Golf Network shirt too lol
The skins match was sick. You get to walk around watch all the player you have no limits on where you can go. By far better then the tournament I think.
There needs to be separation between players and spectators to avoid uncomfortable situations like the one antilla had to deal with and overcome after it happened. Otherwise a security team is going to have to be put on every card which would make things drastically more expensive for everyone.
Wait, am I the only one who saw Proctor after slipping a little kind of playfully hit a little rock with his disc and it went toward Brian Earhardt and Brian said something to Proctor who said something like " Chill out Brian" and was clearly pissed at him and a little later after throwing on the par 3 around the pond and after throwing he went back toward the tent and said better than it could have ever been and Brian clearly is seen rolling his eyes at Proctor. I mean it seemed to me that something was going on and it looked like after the little altercation Proctor went beast-mode. Go back and look at the video. Not sure which hole it happened, maybe 5 or so.
Lately it’s been a little heavy on the shock factor and less emphasis on the actual “what happened” at the tournament. I’m not saying you should make it bland and boring, but your recaps could be more well-received if they weren’t crammed with a joke and witty remark for every little occurrence at the event. Please make it a true recap and I’ll watch a lot more often
Why would it ever matter how you "feel about" McBeth's throw? There's no rule saying how or where you pass an OB line. If you have to pass specifically over the line, it would have to be a mandatory. Sure he got lucky, but the disc was inside the line, so it's safe.
This exact situation happens at every single PGA event and they're playing for millions. If they can find the mental fortitude to not let it bother them, then so can PDGA players. Limiting spectator involvement to far will certainly kill interest in these tournaments for a load of people, especially seeing as live coverage is about as pitiful as it can get. Charging the same fans for unwatchable coverage that never seems to improve is wild, and it has a ton of folks feeling frustrated and scammed. They're already in recovery mode, no sense to shoot themselves in the other foot too.
Cheering is gonna be part of golf as it grows. The players need to learn to deal with it. Screaming at the hole they are playing at while throwing is bad.
It's unusual, but yea, Steve Dodge talked about it recently. Having people pay to volunteer results in people actually showing up to the event, rather than just bailing if they don't feel like it the day of. They also get a nice "player pack" from it
Drew Gibson bitches about disc golf all the time. No sport is perfect and everyone has the same course setups and adversities that they must face during the tournaments. Not one person has an advantage over the other at any point (unless weather related). Dude makes these minor issues seem like it ruins his enjoyment of the game.
PGA and NBA both allow spectators to get extremely close, and are far more successful sports. Also PGA fans yell stuff at players after every shot. Why else is anyone coming to see if they can't interact somewhat?
MVP is my favorite tournament of the year. Nitpicking and finding drama to benefit yourself is selfish and unwanted. Find a different way to cover disc golf. This click bait stuff is garbage
Im not saying its good or acceptable, but the hyperbole constantly being used, even by this channel in recent videos, of "other sports eouldnt let this happen." Monica Seles was stabbed by a "fan" while playing a top tier pro event. None of it is good, but watch something other than disc golf to get some damn life perspective!
I would love hole 8 in any non sanctioned event that means nothing and I hate hearing them on sanctioned events. It's a wonderful group but considering they are respectful to anyone ON hole 8 while simultaneously being disrespectful to everyone NOT on hole 8 by yelling across the entire course. It's definitely a lose lose situation for them but if I was putting nearby and they starting screaming, I would get PISSED.
When the title is ALWAYS "drama" at insert weekly tournament here, it loses its luster and makes people just want to not watch.
It’s not news where it’s unexpected drama it’s literally just a series that goes over whatever drama happened over the weekend lol.
Yeah I agree. Sometimes I just want you to shoot straight with me. Be the DG World not the Disc Golf “Page Six”
