My friend and I met Marky almost 20 years ago in a small bar/club in Cleveland, along with a member of the Misfits (I feel bad, but I'm not terribly familiar with them). We were maybe 16 and signing up for a battle of the bands. The owner asked for us to wait a bit until he was ready. Marky and the dude from the Misfits were just chilling, it was probably midday. They invited me and my friend to kick it with them in the VIP lounge upstairs. They were two of the coolest dudes! They asked what type of music we played, we said punk. They were so supportive and awesome! They had some great stories, of course!
@@scramblesthedeathdealer must’ve been Jerry Only you met. while Jerry, Marky and Dez Cadena were doing the misfits reunion during that time. It was the worst version of the misfits but I’m jealous you got to meet them.
At least... the problem is that they don't bond because Marky and Richie don't get along very well. They both stated that and Richie messed around with Marky a bit on occasion.
@Tyler Mod Yes, they are Ramones after all, although between Richie and Marky I prefer Marky, and CJ and Dee Dee I prefer Dee Dee, I think that both CJ and Richie were part of a different stage of the band than the previous ones.
@Tyler Mod I agree to some extent. His musical evolution towards something more commercial is seen in End Of The Century due to the influence of producer Phil Spector, but we also see there how his decline begins. I am not saying that this was not a great album, for me it was a very good one, but from there we see the output of albums like Subterranean Jungle, which marked a rather large decline. The attempt of the Ramones to recover their public and its essence we see it in Too Tough To Die. On the other hand, I recognize that Richie was there for the money, and we can see that when he left the band because, supposedly, the other members did not share the benefits of merchandising with him.
10:20 “I don’t read the Wall Street Journal but if the suits like it, it must be good”. I just love that line, the stories about the dog food…the whole interview is fabulous.
Marky ramone was the best Ramones drummer he may not be the original drummer but he's certainly the classic drummer he was with the ramones over 15 years and played over 1500 shows with ramones.
Mark was one cool dude .I loved watching the Romones being interviewed they were so funny with stories they would tell you .the story about them getting out of a van and this woman said a thats nice to the driver god love them what's wrong with them .🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Burlats de Montaigne In what way? Because I like Marc's style better. Tell me what I said that put Tommy down? Because I have plenty of respect for him!
Dave Carignan You didn't say you like his style better, which would be subjective, you said he was a better drummer - which is objective. Tommy invented the Ramones drumming style which Marky then reproduced live because Tommy couldn't be fucked to tour.
Ok, next time I'll break out my F-ing dictionary so you subjective brainiacs can understand what a normal construction worker means. It means he's a better drummer, period.
+Snuffy Smith Thank you, I saw them both play for the Ramones (I'm 53) and just thought Marc added more to the meter and added breakdowns within the songs at the right times. I also thought Ritchie did a great job! Loved them all, they were all Ramones, end of story!
johnny didnt say what are you going to shoot me instead he said to dee dee at that time he always brought a switch blade because he called Connie ex girlfriend of dee dee a bore
Johnny did not lie in his book. Like Marky said they knew he had guns on him so when him and Johnny did not agree with something Johnny said what are you going to do shoot me. He never said in his book at least that Phil pointed a gun at him.
Marky you look GREAT. and excited to see you on the Red Carpet at The M.E. T. Ball tonight. With Marky Ramone and the Ramones should be Featured at The M.E. T.Ball
Marky is a good guy, love listening to him. His book is great too.
Great drummer and comes across like a cool, down to earth guy.
He really is an awesome dude, I met him as a teenager almost 20 years ago... couldn't have been nicer!
They all were, jerry Nolan also
Yes and I’m tired of reading negative comments about Marky
Marky doesn't talk bullshit.. oldskool proper talk
Great interview by Mawky Wamone.

Marky was a great drummer The ramones really were something else.
Markey cracks me up , he was always the joker in the ramones .

Bullshit. You play punk but you don’t know who the misfits are.
@@thorterry4014 I knew who they were, I didn't know all of the members names. Nice guy, nonetheless.

@@Gravytrain1996 I loved Tommy...early fan!
I like this guy.
Love Marky!!!!!!! No doubt the perfect replacement for Tommy.
"Let that shit go and enjoy your lives" - Marky Ramone
just an idea: may it be possible that behind the sunglasses and the hair Marky is really Al Pacino?
Good call
Marky Ramome is 100% super cool!
Marky speaks the truth and he is the joker in the ramones !!! I love love this guy probably the most sane one out of the bunch .
I love the Ramones
Is the audio flipped right-left, or are my speakers the wrong way around?
Edit: I just checked. It's this video, not me.

badass drummer....the RAMONES
WERE ONE OF MY FAVORITES
Beautiful interview ☺☺❤
love his new york accent
Marky Ramone just mentioned eating Iams dog food. What an endorsement!
Dog food is so good for you
It makes you strong and clever too
Dog food is a current craze
Eat some every day

Phil Spector was a genius, but crazy.
now THAT is one well-adjusted ramone
Marky seems pretty darned cool to me. Thanks man.
Chicago? I haven't seen Marky's sauce anywhere here in Chicago?
WANT
Uprated. Marc Bell -- very cool, great interview! Thank you.
great to have an interviewer who lets who we want to listen to, talk...
This looks like it was shot yesterday
good interviewer
Eating dog food? What's wrong with this guy? 9 Lives Ocean Whitefish & Tuna --- now that's some good eatin'!
I love him, he's so freakin' cool.
you couldn't be more wrong ... they were great writers , one of the most original bands ever , and they were tight like a machine .
Rip Lemmy. I wish marky could've handed you that trophy
Straight forward dude
GOD BLESS
tightest band in rock thanks to the most excellent drumming 😎
Don't wanna put down Tommy but Marc was a much better drummer
Dave Carignan You just did and he wasn't.

Yeah - just checked Marky's site - NO MARKY'S SAUCE IN CHICAGO!
DAMMIT!
Marky has the most New York accent I've ever heard.
I'd like to try his sauce. Is it available in Canada? Anyone know?
Marky is the Gene Simmons of punk.
Don’t ever soil marky ramones name again mentioning him with that trash.
johnny didnt say what are you going to shoot me instead he said to dee dee at that time he always brought a switch blade because he called Connie ex girlfriend of dee dee a bore
Indeed..
Wayne County & The Backstreet Boys !!!
Johnny komatsu, cj isn't dead.
wise man .forgive each other life is short your only hurting your self. when you harbor grudges.
all i know is thank god they didnt have jello biafra do ramones songs
Johnny did not lie in his book. Like Marky said they knew he had guns on him so when him and Johnny did not agree with something Johnny said what are you going to do shoot me. He never said in his book at least that Phil pointed a gun at him.
They should let Marky do drums, CJ on bass, and holograms for Johnny and Joey
CJ and Marky have major beef so it wouldn’t work. Plus he admitted he didn’t wanna clone the ramones.
That's a shitty fucking idea.
Marky you look GREAT. and excited to see you on the Red Carpet at The M.E. T. Ball tonight. With Marky Ramone and the Ramones should be Featured at The M.E. T.Ball
Why are you typing like you're speaking to him.... are you highly doubt he's even reading this...
Hey, Mr Jangleballer. Joey is dead. Markey is the last man standing, accept it.
fool
Ok, he was for a while and now he's not.
I'll have to get over it.
Sleep easy boys....
Marky sure looks hot for a guy pushing 60. All I can say is WOW!
+gabrielle katona Yeah a cool wig will do that,LOL.

Ramona eating dog food ? That about sums it up

Andy Williams is the real punk he ate dog food first.
Is this the only Ramone still alive?
CJ and Richie still alive

And Marky wears a wig. How about that little truth bomb he left out.
Marky knows that people know he wears a wig. He doesn't give a fuck.
NVR like there music now Andrew wow that's even worse he is dreadful
Can we trade him to get dee dee or joey back ?
Please do
jerk markys awsome yeah they are awsome but still
Gawd, the wig is awful.
Uh Marky, Pet food is not for human consumption. Its not even recommended for animals by decent vets.
Markey is a jerk. Give us back Joey.
Cool dude. Looks the part. Too bad the Ramones couldn't sound the part. Their "music" was puerile rubbish. All attitude, no talent.
The attitude informed the songs, music and performance. The attitude was one of order and brevity.
Them having no “talent” and being who they were is their talent. Not trash
