That huge box truck is awesome. at what point do you make your money? If you don't want to share, np but as someone not from a deposit state I am curious. I know you get a certain amount per container from the warehouse (the deposit), do you buy from customers in bulk for a reduced amount and your profit is the difference?

I wish other states allowed as much returns as you’re allowed to return because other states have limits that aren’t enough.

Can you explain what you mean by limits? There are limits?

@@therecyclingguy256 yes, Oregon it’s 350 containers per day and even less at some places. California it’s 100 lbs per day. Michigan it’s $25 per day per location.

@@PickingVegasandBeyondwow that's crazy you should have your friends or kids turn in as well since they want to put a limit on the individual

Be caussious , thieves are everywhere these days, i have a smaller operation & i had my equipment & bounty stolen, they even took the truck, police are not helping, they say all i can do is declare the loss to my insurance. 🤬, be careful, one of my driver's was jumped that's how they got the truck. They jumped on him & beat him with baseball bats, now he is in the i.c.u , so be very careful out there.

@@therecyclingguy256 , my driver wasn't expecting it, they jumped him in the back when he was loading up, they hit him in the back if the head first then pounded him with baseball bats, they broke his ribs , punctured a lung, lower spine is broken, the back of his head must be reconstructed, the police are doing nothing to find them, so i had to call on some old freinds from a different type of group that has zero regards for the law, there the only ones helping me find my truck & the rat's. I don't really care about the contents of the truck, but my driver is important to me, he will end up possibly as a vegetable, his wife & kids are in shock, all this for a few bags of cans. It's getting to the point where we have to be armed just to be able to go around town doing this, it happened in broad daylight infront of the courthouse, no surveillance outside the building. So cops won't investigate, they just told his wife, we are sorry this happened but we have no suspects to interrogate. Yet witnesses saw the whole thing & one even got pictures of the suspect's & we see there faces, police say the image isn't clear enough to make a mugshot, yet we see there faces clearly, so as i said i had to rely on some old friends, do be careful.

@@therecyclingguy256 , welcome, i pass the word on, because i know how hard it is to do this job,
Especially when your helping a friend, i paid him half of what i earned he did it for the pleasure of helping me as a good friend, he had his regular 9 to 5 job at the convenience store he was working the cash usually, he would spend his weekend 's helping me collect & sort.
People think that pickers are just poor people going through garbage, but we know that's not the case, we do what we do to get by
I often speak with other pickers in town we share information on where to keep watch for bounty
The spirit of competition is there but in the end we are all in the same thing & if we can help keep eachother safe , maybe one day i will be able to convince the other pickers in my town to join up tougher for a even bigger cash out we can share. I do say maybe because at the moment it's still every picker for themselves.
