When you enter blade mode you can do two things: You can press square for random horizontal slashes and triangle for random vertical slashes or you can make precise cuts by aligning the blade with the right stick and quickly letting go of it to attack in that trayectory. So basically your mistake was pressing square/triangle after aligning the blade instead of releasing the stick.
The cutting is definitely doable, it's pretty difficult to get the hang of if you neglect it like many people do until they reach Sundowner's fight. W playthrough tho
The theme of MG Excelsus is Collective Consciousness, but the lyrics only come in during the end of the fight. If you play the Jetstream Sam DLC, the final boss of that DLC has the song playing with lyrics for the entire second phase.

Through out this whole game, i literally forgot that the enemy spine can recover 100 percent HP and SP regard of how low your energy and HP is Basically, you have 1% HP, get the spine and boom, fully recovered And i also forgot that, you can not save any spine as healing item in the bag Honestly you can try the Fox Blade now (Raiden's second main weapon), once you fully upgrade it, you will understand why i told you not buying it before you clear the game. But also you can try Muramasa's sword too, it is the blade design perfectly for boss Also, Raiden doesn't have a daughter, he have a son

You might get Yakuza/GTA/SIFU vibes from it but the combat is simple like in Batman It's about Wei, a double agent who has to infiltrate a syndicate, and I didn't pay much attention to story cause I just liked beating up random thugs You can do stage fatalities(yes fatalities) and have an OPEN world, you can parkour and jump from car to car to carjack Trust me it's awesome
And one more thing about Armstrong throwing stuff to you, you indeed can run away from it, but if you do 3 (or 4, i don't remember) consecutive perfect free blade mode, not only you deal huge damage to Armstrong but the big metal part that you slice into 2 also give you healing item Remember, consecutive free blade mode
Story wise the game hits a lot harder if you’ve played the previous games and is as strong as the gameplay. The game is more so an epilogue than a side story so it can be played separately from everything else but it’s a lot more impactful if you see the progression of Raiden across the games as his character is the main focus of the story.

use a controller to input the konami code in the menu screen before you press a button to start, and then play the game on revengeance difficulty, it makes the bosses a lot more balanced (except the first mission)
if there's a new game plus you should do it and make a long video beating the game again like a speed run i definitely think you could it'd be fun to see too great vid man i had a great time watching before work
