I like flying it but it turns like a boat and it's rudders barely do anything and it only has 260 rounds for 4x 30mm so you need to be careful with ammo. However it is a great climber and great bomber hunter and is good at boom and zoom.

A video about how to preform good at dogfights, or AB would be really helpful for people like me. Even tho noone may see this comment, I want to say that I love this type of videos, so keep it up!
Its a combination of many many things, energy recognition, plane knowledge (of yourself and enemies), target prioritization, and of course aim. I'd suggest Defyn's videos to help guide you, they're long but they teach you basically anything youd wanna know. Then finally you definitely need practice and experience, it's kind of unavoidable.

This is exactly the kind of gameplay I required for my grinding in the Soviet tree. I have been having issues with dogfighting, but this video taught me alot about it. One question though, how do flaps affect your turning when going vertically? I always thought combat flaps just help with turning at the expense of speed and that landing flaps are only good for slowing down my aircraft, but seeing how you utilized them, I want to ask.
I wish they had a dogfight only mode without missiles for higher tier stuff so I can take the MiG-19S back out and relive the true height of jet gameplay
Yes but have you ever killed an F-5C flown by an SRB tryhard with your last round in a MiG-21S as you come out of a stall loop and proceed to perfectly fly under a bridge on the disengage? I will never have another WT moment as glorious as that.
I notice you don't tend to throttle down at all. When you're in a dog fight, you want to be behind your enemy, sometimes slowing down as much as possible is just how you do so. Usually when you're diving, before throttling up when you're ascending. It makes just enough of a difference to get on their tail.
As a K4 main, that last dogfight was just so painful to watch. Sure maybe he had a crit engine but coming in with an energy advantage, against a narwal, then turning infront of the gun SEVERAL TIMES just gives me a headache
I like both formats. This one is just pure analyzing with no commetary, which is good for people trying to learn tactics, getting the advantage on the enemy and so on. While the other one is entertaining to watch - its fun and you always have got some fire plays in them too. Love your work, keep it up champ❤️👏🏻
How do you keep such a good view on your target AND still maintain such good flight control? Its just unreal how good you are at that and how cool this looks! When I dog fight I always look have to break visual and anticipate their path or the or look at them and break my flight path. It works sometimes, but is really annoying. It is still mainly a skill issue tho cause even at current top tier (pre rank 8 update) I still use prop plane tactics and maneuvers. It works unless I need scissor or roll and/or scissor into a stall into a rolling scissor. I am jittery with aim. But, back to the point, I admire your skills and the work put into these videos. I hope I can get as good as you one day! Lastly, yes, this format is awesome
its so nice that only 1 circle fight works in air rb ... Its so nice to have only one option when it comes to dogfighting. And if the enemy plane has a tighter turning radius than yours... well... too bad...
I love dogfights, but it just so happens that every single jet I have is absolute shit at dogfighting, and the one I do have thats decent at it has the crappy M3 50 cal that seems to never do any damage no matter how many shots I land.
@@rudeelk7042 on the US I have the banshee, and the squad skyhawk. On italians I have the vampire and the G.91 pre series. G91 is good but I dont like the 50 cals and its also very easy to red line and go too fast.
@@rudeelk7042 The problem isnt the line I go down, its more about the time investment. Currently the banshee is 7.7 going against entire teams of Su-11s so it really cant do much. And the only other plane I have at rank 5 is the tigercat or bear cat, both of which are 6.3 and stuck doing 6v6 matches with 4 of the enemies being Ju 288s.
What belts are you trying to use. My only frustration with the 50 cals is how slow their velocity is. I have no problems taking down planes though. Also regarding the Su-11, just make them fast and you win. They have no airbrake and will overshoot easily.
That dogfight against a Kurfürst in the Sud Ouest 8000 xD. Well done Smarfer, I don't know either how you managed to win that one after butchering multiple gun solutions.

Situational awareness is probably the most important thing in air, use that freelook CONSTANTLY, and good luck!

I'd suggest Defyn's videos to help guide you, they're long but they teach you basically anything youd wanna know. Then finally you definitely need practice and experience, it's kind of unavoidable.

I think smarfer use that flap because he need to make a turn and hold alt while he has very low speed as you can see his speed is 100-200kmh.
Basically Flap is a thing that make lift force for aircraft to fly
Lift at the cost of speed. Since there’s more lift in the wings, it’s easier to control the plane.

I advice don't use the aairbrake on that situation, you will lose drive because the airbrake move th nose at the down.

How do you use the reargunners etc without the plane just going for a 0 degree angle? Whenever I go to rear gunner, I lose all control of the plane...
You can disable the plane stabilization in gunner view in settings and then control the plane with your keyboard
