What am I missing? Sleep Token’s Take Me Back to Eden Album Review

- Apparently there are a lot of backstories and information I needed to know before listening to this album. I tried…my best (ish) to take a look deeper into Sleep Token’s discography before this album review.
Please help me learn what I am missing from this information and enlighten me on the missing peices - I am genuinely curious!

Euclid is really only an over-the-top emotional song IF you’ve loved and followed them since Sundowning, at least. That’s what you’re “missing” but you gave Sundowning a listen, which is all we can ask.
I think it still is pretty emotional and well done - I just felt like there was a lot that I was missing (& a few references) that listening to Sundowning “generally” cleared up. All around I still liked it but I feel like throughout there is a lot within the fanbase that I don’t know that I’m missing to fully enjoy, but I tried my best! It’s still great! 🖤 thanks for watching!
I think The Apparition is super underrated, I loved that one as well. There’s not a song on the album I didn’t like, but I just love music in general so all of the different genres hit me in the intended ways. Since you said you like heavier stuff, I’m assuming you’ve been told a billion times to check out Meshuggah or have already listened to their stuff on your own, but just in case, two songs off their newest album I love because of the drums and just rhythms in general are: “Phantoms” and “I Am That Thirst.” The heavy parts of Sleep Token make it clear that they are huge fans of Meshuggah, so if you’re looking for that style of music, that’s THE band.
Yes! I actually appreciate Meshuggah and though I wouldn’t say I am a CRAZY fan - I will be seeing them in concert this summer 😂 but by association to go see Lorna Shore & Face Yourself.

I do apprciate that just because it doesn't hit the same for you as it does for us diehards, you're at least respectful with the way you talk about it because there are plenty out there who aren't. If you're looking for a heavy band, Sleep Token is probably not the band that'll scratch that ich for you.
All about respecting our differences and appreciating/giving it a chance. I’m not one to bash & definitely will give things an actual deep dive and listen before I form an opinion. I tried my best! Honestly the hate that so many bands get from others - do people not have better things to do with their time? A waste of energy.
Over all good music - keep enjoying!
