I love it too 😂 I laughed a lot at it too tbh. But I’ve seen a lot of people hating on this line, but it really paints a morbid perspective of how he feels. The imagery of just a guy being so worn out and tired. If you’ve ever seen a slaughterhouse, man. To embody that as a human? That’s heavy weight. And I’ve been to the point of exhaustion where I have the chills and I’m cold and only 12+ hours of sleep will fix it. Homie is hurting my soul with these bars 😭😭

I have several chronic illnesses that leave me in constant brutal pain, i am constantly really anemic (low red blood cells) and require bi weekly blood transfusions, i take 14, yes, 14, medications every day just to feel at a point where i don't want to blow my brains out, i sleep maybe 3 or 4 hours a night at best because of the pain and feeling frozen but sweating at the same time, i puke at least 3 times a day minimum, basically i am not alive, i'm just surviving, and with little hope of any meaning recovery, this is my life until something finally takes me out. I am being sincere that the only, singular reason i have not killed my self yet is because it would destroy my mother and my fiance, so i have to endure. I've said it before that it's only my meat suit that's still here, my soul left a long time ago. So that line really hit. Sorry for unloading.

I was thinking the same thing. From sundowning as their beginning and This place will be your tomb being their introduction to who they are, this album is a perfect ending to their first trilogy of them as a band.
That’s also why I think that for a band that’s already genre bending, their next album will be a completely different genre. I feel like this is almost like a hopping off point for everyone that’s followed since Sundowning.
My favorite aspect of the song is how each time the chorus comes it’s different instrumentation. It’s starts with a soft piano, into more hip hop, then just the full band coming in. It’s honest just 👌

The one thing I do know about this album is that I absolutely love it, and while there's plenty of months to go, it gets album of the year for me, even the past few years, it's been a long while since a band has gripped me like Sleep Token have, and after listening to the entire "trilogy" now, I appreciate this final album even more. COCONUTS… also, I feel like another pro should be the atmospheric experience achieved with this one. They did it a little bit with Rain and a lot of songs on TPWBYT. I was so scared we’d loose that with the debut tracks. The best way to experience this is in a dark, quiet room while laying on your back with your eyes closed. You literally feel like you’re IN the song. Just no words. So beautiful. I’ve listened to this song literally a hundred times at least and I still get chills.

A year late to this reaction but rediscovering Sleep Token through reactions has been making me teary. This song gives me all of the feels. Vessel is a God with a voice of a fallen angel. II is the beat drummer to EVER exist. Love that the broader musical industry is acknowledging their creativity & genius while being shit scared of what that might change for us fans.

I’ve been waiting for them to do something that was like a modern day equivalent to Bohemian Rhapsody and I think this is it! So much of an anthem, the switching, the song evolving over time and we had advanced warning that he was about to bite back in anger and did he ever! II’s drumming though - wow! The chorus was so beautiful in all ways, but the last time felt so full! The added bits of Chokehold towards the end made it feel like the album finale, leaving room for the ending of the trilogy. Absolutely perfect in my opinion.

This album was unbelievable. I loved TPWBYT but there were a few songs that didn’t hit but this album dude, every song ,even while repetitive, still feels unique and sounds amazing. It’s reminds me of Nothing more “spirits” album in which I could listen to the whole track without pause and sometimes forget what song I’m on cause it flows so damn good. WORSHIP!!!!
This song sitting as the second-last song on the album lets it serve as such a great climax to the album as a whole (and makes the reprise of Chokehold - the first song on the album - so much more satisfying in context). The next track, Euclid, feels like a nice denouement afterwards; a satisfying cool-down to follow the prog marathon that preceded it.

I'm very much enjoying how this song and Euclid reference songs from the previous two albums. I'm so curious to know how they're all connected. But maybe it's more fun to leave it a mystery.
So IV and III are actually live members. IV screams live so that Vessel can focus on singing. Though I’m fairly certain that Vessel also does certain screams live. In studio Vessel is credited with Coproduction along with Carl Brown. He also did all vocals, all guitars, all bass, and all piano. II does all drums. Vessel and II wrote all music other than DYWTYLM which was strictly written by Vessel.
For the Chokehold callback : there's obviously "it was no accident", BUT also " (we were tangled up like) branches in a flood". In this video, you can hear it at 8:02.

The amount of references you can find in this and Euclid are staggering. Im not talking about the obvious ones, there are some that are so incredibly subtle. The piano break is a reference to aqua regias piano solo. The intro of Euclid sounds like a major key rework of bloodsport etc.
This is easily the best song from them for me, every single thing in it sat perfectly with my ears. Reminds me of Periphery's Masamune with the breakdown at the end, just the sudden intense key change into something so dark and brutal. The chorus shifting from very ethereal in the first section, then into a hip hop kind of style in the middle blows my mind with how good it sounds, and I love the first breakdown with the guitar riffs where you can hear the note changes into a darker tone right at the end, but stops before it goes anywhere, like a hint of what's to come at the end of the song. It's like the musical version of a Chekhov's gun - it's there for a reason and it'll come back at some point. I've listened to it way too many times to count at this point and there's just so many little things they do. Incredible band. Cool reaction and review!

Hot take: When it comes to longer tracks on TMBTE… Title track > Ascensionism The title track has a way better sense of progression and is overall just more interesting due to the amount of switch ups and new sections. I still think Ascensionism is great, the rap part was cool and the ending is very powerful, but honestly it’s way overhyped.

I'm very much enjoying how this song and Euclid reference songs from the previous two albums. I'm so curious to know how they're all connected. But maybe it's more fun to leave it a mystery.

The one screaming is IV (the guitarist) who also screams the last part in the summoning and can be seeing and heard during live performances
So IV and III are actually live members. IV screams live so that Vessel can focus on singing. Though I’m fairly certain that Vessel also does certain screams live. In studio Vessel is credited with Coproduction along with Carl Brown. He also did all vocals, all guitars, all bass, and all piano. II does all drums. Vessel and II wrote all music other than DYWTYLM which was strictly written by Vessel.
Correct. Only Vessel & II record all the music on the album. III & IV only play live.
For the Chokehold callback : there's obviously "it was no accident", BUT also " (we were tangled up like) branches in a flood". In this video, you can hear it at 8:02.

The amount of references you can find in this and Euclid are staggering. Im not talking about the obvious ones, there are some that are so incredibly subtle. The piano break is a reference to aqua regias piano solo. The intro of Euclid sounds like a major key rework of bloodsport etc.
This is easily the best song from them for me, every single thing in it sat perfectly with my ears. Reminds me of Periphery's Masamune with the breakdown at the end, just the sudden intense key change into something so dark and brutal. The chorus shifting from very ethereal in the first section, then into a hip hop kind of style in the middle blows my mind with how good it sounds, and I love the first breakdown with the guitar riffs where you can hear the note changes into a darker tone right at the end, but stops before it goes anywhere, like a hint of what's to come at the end of the song. It's like the musical version of a Chekhov's gun - it's there for a reason and it'll come back at some point.
I've listened to it way too many times to count at this point and there's just so many little things they do. Incredible band.

When I finally sat and listened to the entire album in one sitting, it made me think of the experience of listening to the album Dark side of the Moon by Pink Floyd, but metal. I adore this Album. It’s so cohesive.

The title track has a way better sense of progression and is overall just more interesting due to the amount of switch ups and new sections. I still think Ascensionism is great, the rap part was cool and the ending is very powerful, but honestly it’s way overhyped.
