The Hungarian Royal Honvéd army still had more than 1,400,000 soldiers[38][39] when Károlyi was announced as prime minister. Károlyi yielded to President Wilson's demand for pacifism by ordering the unilateral self-disarmament of the Hungarian army. The unilateral self-disarmament made the occupation of Hungary directly possible for the relatively small armies of Romania, the Franco-Serbian army, and the armed forces of the newly established Czechoslovakia.[43][44][45][46] After self-disarmament, Czech, Serbian, and Romanian political leaders chose to attack Hungary instead of holding democratic plebiscites concerning the disputed areas.[47] On the request of the Austro-Hungarian government, an armistice was granted to Austria-Hungary on 3 November 1918 by the Allies.[48] Military and political events changed rapidly and drastically after the Hungarian unilateral disarmament: On 5 November 1918, the Serbian army, with the help of the French army, crossed the southern borders. On 8 November, the Czechoslovak army crossed the northern borders. On 10 November d'Espérey's army crossed the Danube River and was poised to enter the Hungarian heartland. During the rule of Károlyi's pacifist cabinet, Hungary rapidly lost control over approximately 75% of its former pre-WWI territories (325,411 km2 (125,642 sq mi)) without a fight and was subject to foreign occupation.[50]

10:28 Uhm, what did you mean about Romania capitulating twice in the Great War? There was the Peace Treaty of Bucharest in May 1918 which was the actual capitulation - if you mean the armistice of Focsani in December 1917, that was just the precursor to the peace treaty (it took so long between armistice and capitulation because... you know... balkan spirit and all that, delay everything for as long as possible)
they didnt capilutated a single time ...they started to nogociete a peace with central power in moldova but they advance stoped there and theyr king never signed anything @@NoelTakacs-s9m
In the Great war Romania didn't capitulated twice. You should learn some history. The Treaty from Bucharest was not accepted by the Romanian king. And, also, just southern Romania was occupied. So, you should learn some history. And, at that time, there was no war between Romania and some comunist state. So, no double capitulation in WW I from Romania. The alliance with USSR was in WW II. So you should study more. 😉 This is adressed to the video creator.
This makes me curious about a alt-hist in which the turkish war of Independence was replaced with a austrian war of Independence, or just in general a timeline in which austria managed to maintain the borders it claimed in 1918.
Hungary certainly didn't exist in the borders they claim for over 1000 years. The conquest of the Pannonian and Transylvanian basins ended fairly late, somewhere in the 13th century when the Teutonic Knights were invited to expand the borders inside Transylvania. Then in 1526, Hungary was conquered by the Ottoman empire and stopped existing as a geopolitical entity until the 19th century, when the Hungarians revolted against the Austrians in 1848, which unfortunately failed and were put again under Austrian rule for 70 more years.

very cool but i think the ww2 was a bit too much like our timeline i think having Trotsky as the leader of soviet union would be very different than our timeline soviet union it would be great if you made a video about that
Butterfly effect. I doubt things would go down exactly the same with Germany for the same reason Trotsky came to power instead of Stalin. In fact, I don't think Leon would have been as friendly with Adolf. Probably no Molotov Riptoven pact.
I honestly think that this is one of the most likely scenarios for a Soviet victory since at the end of the war, even if the Americans joined the allies, the Soviets would be able to conquer all of Europe and with Trotsky not being able to, perhaps they would try to expand militarily into India and Africa with In the end, the Soviets took all of Eurasia and Africa while the Americans created an alliance with all of America and the United Kingdom
suggestion, what if the 13 Colonies managed to win the battle of Quebec in 1775 during the american revolution, would canada be apart of the US or would it stay separate, would the US manage to become even stronger then modern day?
There is a historical innacuraccy within the video. The Soviet Union and the Comintern recognized Macedonians as a sepreate ethnicity from both Serbs and Bulgarians, meaning they wouldnt give them to either and would support a Yugoslav federation with Bulgaria invovled. Meaning Bulgaria would be on the side of the Axis not Comintern
Good UA-cam video. video idea: What if in the american civil war the CSA wins and try's to invade Mexico and central america and the Caribbean. weird idea but i like it
I don’t think that the Axis would do that badly in WW2 considering that their technology was superior and their ability to completely neutralise the Soviet Air Force. They wouldn’t push to Moscow but most likely would be able to reach Riga and or Kiev if they’re lucky. Kiev is a stretch but you get the idea. Great video though!
I respectfully disagree. German technological superiority over USSR wasn't that overwhelming even in our time line. But tactical, operational and doctrinal experience was overwhelmingly superior in actual time line. But with Great Purge and Holodomor off the table, Red Army would keep its best officers and commanders. And under Trotzky, political commesars won't get that much power as under Stalin. So, IMO, Red Army would act more coherent ans sharply in opening stages of WW2.
@@CipiRipi-in7df It was somewhat overwhelming on a smaller scale being out manoeuvred due to radios and no air support due to much superior air technology. Overall though, i wouldn’t have called it overwhelming or a major reason of German success in 1941.
There was no Hungarian Soviet Republic, my friend. Anarchist bolshevik gerillas, mainly jews, misused the political vacuum of a postwar disarmed country, looted guns and illegally poutched the goverment. They support was very limited, but they terrorized the population well. Their red army in his best form contained 80.000 amateur factory workers, not real soldiers. Comparing with this the professional imperial K.u.k Hungarian army contained 1 million 200 soldiers before the WW1. Sadly Hungary in 1918 autumn unilaterally disarmed itself, so it was place to the bandits to start their 133 days long amok run. This 133 days was the worst period of the Hungarian history, which showed where to lead the poweer vacuum and when a hostile minority taking the power.
Assuming The cold war would end the way it did in our timeline, I can imagine that Hungary may stay communist after the collapse. Though it would be heavily wounded from it, and would have an economic nightmare for the next 10 years due to relying on the soviets for economic aid, and for trade. If it did survive it would either be one of the poorest countries in europe, or grow in economy similarly to Vietnam today.
Learned from the turkish mistake, now atleast acknowledging what the *literal topic of the video* would be doing. However, you really just want to play around with a trotsky and a really strong soviet union. Also, that little mention of Japan happening as you said, would make much different korean borders (because of the much stronger communists). But for how little the allies did, they probably wouldn't be given that Rhineland germany thingie you didn't talk about. Look, I'm not trying to be an asshole, pointing out every little stupid detail but those said little details are kinda the point of alt history, no?
I appreciate this comment and getting better. I do agree with you, except the allies not getting the Rhineland. It's true that they didn't do anything, but the balance of power needs to be preserved. This should avoid a conflict between both sides, which I think they would want, at least initially.
Why at 12:20 would Romania invade a country like Yugoslavia, they have nothing to gain that's too unrealistic, especially regarding Romania, Serbia relations.
What if 🇧🇬🇷🇴🇦🇱and yugoslavia united after WW1 into the federativne states of the balkans transylvania moldova walachia Serbia Croatia Slovenia Bulgaria albania and Macedonia . bosnia in croatia Montenegro in Serbia Kosovo in albania
Correction: The previous government didn't want to accept the new demarcation line, so they resigned and gave the power to the social-democrats who invited the communists to the government. This is how the communists took power.

In this scenario they capitulated twice, first the one you mentioned and the second to the communist alliance.
@@NoelTakacs-s9m Oh right, my bad, lost track of the scenario conditions
they didnt capilutated a single time ...they started to nogociete a peace with central power in moldova but they advance stoped there and theyr king never signed anything @@NoelTakacs-s9m
Romania in 1990 be like: Romanian Black League is created.
GREAT TRIAL AWAITS...
hahaha would love to see a mod like that
This makes me curious about a alt-hist in which the turkish war of Independence was replaced with a austrian war of Independence, or just in general a timeline in which austria managed to maintain the borders it claimed in 1918.
very interesting scenario, certainly would shake things up a lot
nice vid
Glad you liked it!

FINALLY a youtuber that DOESN’T screw up the East Thrace border of the Ottoman Empire during WW1
I feel bad for Hungary. They didn't want a WW1, yet they had territories ripped away from them that they controlled since 900 or so.
@@999mi999 Fortunatelly, major encyclopedias (E. Britannica, German Brockhaus French Larousse E. Americana) do not support your nationalist fantasy. Hungarians were in Transylvania since the 10th century. Learn: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Transylvania#Hungarians
Your ridiculous fantasy that the Hungarian state ceased to exist after Mohács is a simple lie. Learn about the Hungarian state between 1526 and 1849 here (Hungary did not even became part of Austria until 1849) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austro-Hungarian_Compromise_of_1867#1526%E2%80%931848

@@999mi999 Hungary certainly DID exist within the borders we claim for over a 1000 years. The various administrative changes enacted on our territories by foreign invaders don't count. Fun fact: Rome technically did own the Suez. At the time, it was called the Canal of the Pharaoh's or something similar, I can't remember it's namd
very cool
but i think the ww2 was a bit too much like our timeline
i think having Trotsky as the leader of soviet union would be very different than our timeline soviet union
it would be great if you made a video about that

Butterfly effect. I doubt things would go down exactly the same with Germany for the same reason Trotsky came to power instead of Stalin. In fact, I don't think Leon would have been as friendly with Adolf. Probably no Molotov Riptoven pact.
I don't believe Bulgaria would side with Yugoslavia. They had much more problems with the Greeks and Yugoslavs

It wasn't soviet union yet. Soviet Union start existing in 1924, this was Russian SSR

suggestion, what if the 13 Colonies managed to win the battle of Quebec in 1775 during the american revolution, would canada be apart of the US or would it stay separate, would the US manage to become even stronger then modern day?
the perfect scenario ❤❤❤
Based Hungarian
There is a historical innacuraccy within the video. The Soviet Union and the Comintern recognized Macedonians as a sepreate ethnicity from both Serbs and Bulgarians, meaning they wouldnt give them to either and would support a Yugoslav federation with Bulgaria invovled. Meaning Bulgaria would be on the side of the Axis not Comintern
What if the 1848 Hungarian Revolution succeeded?
Can you please do one if the Paris Commune succeeded in creating a Communist France in 1871?
oh hell yes babyyyyyy

Good UA-cam video. video idea: What if in the american civil war the CSA wins and try's to invade Mexico and central america and the Caribbean. weird idea but i like it
Glad you liked the video! Your idea is cool, I would make something similar soon!
With those borders it would have an incomparably easier time to recover economically than it had in reality to be honest
Plz make a video on what if the Jewish rebellion against the Roman’s succeeded and the Jewish Kingdom was restored and survived to modern day

because he was the leader of the short lived Hungariann Soviet Republic.@@chriswanger284
@@67nairb Wrong. He doesn't became ethnic Hungarian just because he was a leader after the coup
He was Hungarian, Kun ruled that country from March to July 1919 whether he was an ethnic Hungarian or not. He was most likely Hungarian because of his first name Bela. Most people whose first name name is Bela are Hungarian like Bela Lugosi and Bela Karoli.@@chriswanger284
