i love buells and am on my 3rd. one of the simplest, lowest maintenance bikes in the world. they are what i would call oil and heat sensitive, but with hydraulic valve adjusters, belt drive, one single drain plug for trans and primary, and one on the swingarm for motor oil, a real breeze to maintain. and tough as nails.
I've just bought the last one brought into UK...an ex demo for £5,550 - a bargain. I had an 07 one before. It's not a great bike but a really good one. When it's on song it's a beauty to ride. Power delivery is perfcet for commuting BUT vibration is a problem and it wouldn't suit anyone under 6 ft. Vaalue for money they are awesome....£4k will get you a mint one - nothing else comes close.
I can't imagine trying to ride a Motorycle with a 17" front wheel and 23.5 Degrees of fork rake off road. Plus I am very short. I am very glad I own the XT Model 2008 .
Hi, so, can I still use the xb12xt for dirt trails and light off-road? Or is it on-road exclusive? thanks...I got my eye on a 2009 xb12xt, but I need my weekend trail ride.
2009 Buell Ulysses, Heated Grips sold me, I owned the 2011 Triumph Tiger, I hated the Tiger Engine, sound was too high pitched, Kinda reminds me of a Singer Sewing Machine !!
Very easy. Oil changes are the only thing. This is belt drive so need to oil any chains. Rear plug is a bit of a bear to get to, other than that, easy.
HD sure screwed the pooch when they bought-out buell, sucked em dry and then let them wither-and-die. The head beancounter didn't even ride bikes ~ the 07-08 financial 'crisis' gave HD an excuse to cut their own 'competition'. Since then, they've been imitating themselves, only half-heartedly supporting innovation, while dragging their feet on novel product design and expanding new-model market appeal. BTW: Here's what some one-off custom builders are doing to further refine the basic buell machines into the 21st century and beyond: Buell Customs ua-cam.com/video/4CrfRSKtgnQ/v-deo.html I think Erik Buell would be delighted.
I wish my Buell had the Liquid cooled Halicon engine. It's a lot lighter and it doesn't roast your balls all day. Then in Jan 2009 Harley Davidson spent $109 Million to shut down the new Buell Factory. They spent $400 Million to shut down the St Lewis Factory .. HD got $89 Million from the American Tax slaves to build electric bikes then just got another $9 Million for the Electric bikes of which they are only selling a handful and are loosing millions per year on them .

Glad I'm not alone in thinking that guy was an asshat.. Lovely bike (I just bought one, my third Buell)..
Why is every Buell Ulysses video recorded with a ham sandwich?

You can defenintally do light off raiding
Did he have a stroke or something?
But what about doing the maintenance yourself. Is this bike good for doing your own maintenance?

I wonder if ten years ago I also was dry as a popcorn fart? Informative though.

AAAAHHHHH I WANT THAT BIKE!!!!
I prefer my 2006 XB12X.
Something tells me this guy isn't a salesman, that's for sure.
Buell XB12X is a Better Bike than the XB12XT

A little less talking. A little more riding. Okay, talk, but freakin give me a little more ride footage!
The XB12XT is a pointless bike. The XB12X can do everything and is just as good on road.
yo im from u.s.
That guy should let someone else do the talking. I love buells so I watched the whole video but man ... awful.
shit, i agree. he's awful
what a terrible commentator!?!
