Ive never tried sharpening new broadheads. I never use a broadhead twice, but havnt ever considered sharpening new ones. I'll have to start trying that. I've heard Lee Ellis pays to play but that could just be rumors. Hard tellin with people on UA-cam now days. Great show fellas. I enjoy seeing other Illinois boys gettn it.
Hey Todd, anymore word on that double drop tine buck that you and Josh saw on that one hunt? That deer was a stud but didn't look like it was going to make it
For deer calling has anyone on the team used electronic deer calls if you are allowed to. Where I reside, they just allowed the use of electronic calls for deer hunting. I wanted to know if anyone has seen a difference between the use of the hand held calls or the electronic calls.
I've been killing critters with bow and arrow for 65 years. My experience has taught me that bow hunting is not a weightlifting contest nor a speed contest it's an accuracy contest. I shoot the broadhead that is most accurate at my maximum distance. In my case it happens to be a cut on contact 2 blade expandable but that doesn't mean it would be the most accurate for you cause your set up, form, hands, and equipment are different than mine. I've killed big game animals all over N. America some weighing 1,700 pounds and the broadhead has never failed. It penetrates through the scapula as well as if not better than fixed broadheads I've used previously. I test every new broadhead for sharpness and sharpen accordingly. I do reuse my mechanical broadheads if they pass my testing that they still operate like a new one and I sharpen them so they're as sharp as before. Don't assume any broadhead flies like a field point. You need to sight in your bow to your broadhead.
I'm that terrible guy that shot 3 bucks with the same batch of broadheads and never once sharpened them. This helped me think about that more. If it wasn't so time consuming I'd definitely say I'm changing, but I'll be more careful for sure. I also only shoot mechanicals and I'll have to buy new broadheads for next year and it's insane that a broadhead costs $40 for a 3 pack. Doesn't incentivise you to keep buying broadheads. You have to reuse them 3 times to pay that off.
25” draw 60# bow 380gr TAW Easton/Beman Bowhunters in 400 spine with aluminum inserts and blazers and 100gr Grim Reaper Mechanicals 😂 all of a sudden I feel seen.
Dude 31:23 you need to try shooting a beast Broadhead and see how sharp and durable they are I've never shot a Broadhead that will take as much punishment as the Beast I've shot stuff with it just like bowmar has and they do not break it takes a lot of punishment and it will avoid the bone that bone avoiding technology really works it did for me
44:10 y’all have a really poor take on this. You don’t own the deer. The work you do on properties or practice doesn’t “earn” you a deer, you don’t deserve it from the merit of your efforts. Anyone can luck into a great deer. Neighbors can be fortunate that other people put in effort to grow big deer. Your work doesn’t mean you deserve a thing over someone else, whether they are paying to play or taking advantage of an opportunity. The time and money you spend is exclusively about you attempting to increase your odds, you don’t get a guaranteed outcome. You don’t own the deer.
@@Bamamike223I would not. I have to share all the deer I have access to with everyone else who has access. I can work to increase my odds, but it does not at all mean that I deserve that deer more than the guy across the fence.
@@capntexas Ok Man. Like I said I hear you. I just don't think that's what he was saying. I am a 100% Public Land Hunter so I live the life of sharing deer. I just didn't take it the way you did. But to each its own. Merry Christmas
@@Bamamike223 Merry Christmas. That's why I said it was a poor take on the situation, not that they are horrible humans and the scum of the hunting world. They're just wrong. The entire basis of the North American model of wildlife management is that no one person owns the animals being pursued. To get upset that someone killed an animal you are also chasing is whiny, pointless, and frankly ungrateful of the opportunity they have to be in God's creation chasing these animals
I am old school, been hunting for 46 years now. Always cut and wrap my own kill.
My favorite episode so far.

I think this is the best one yet 😂😂😂

Oh com'on man. All he said is that it sucks. I hear what you are saying but wouldn't you say "it sucks" too if it happened to you?
