Did I Jinx them…
if it's of any condolence there were a lot of kiwis rooting for and hoping for an Irish win, hands down the best game of the tournament was IRL v NZL, the fact that our two teams were meeting in the quarter finals was almost criminal! However let it be known, the most dangerous place to put a kiwi is in the underdog position, there's nothing we love more in NZ than an underdog
No was just bad luck. Ireland had a better chance of winning the thing than New Zealand. Just couldn't quite manage it on the day.
I just want Ireland to make the semis so everyone can shut up about how "Ireland have never won a quarter final game." Oh yeah, and winning would be nice as well.
No chance of winning the RWC.On the other hand England could be in 6th final wow
@@standelone1674 I don't see England making the final. They'd have to beat either us, the ABs, the Boks, the French or maybe Scotland, and I don't see England beating any of them. They won't implode like Argentina did.
The only team ireland may beat in the quarter final is possibly New Zealand but even that is odds against. No way they’ll beat France and the boks look too strong too. The other side of the draw is so much weaker, England will almost certainly be in the semi final without really playing any of the strongest nations.
Irelands greatest team has come along at the worst possible time.
@@theonofswords3764 I think IF we play our best rugby we're capable of beating anyone. The question is IF Ireland will be capable of playing their best rugby when it matters.
The boks looked mid at best against a Scotland side that couldn't string two passes together. It will be an Ireland v France final, which the French are going to edge@@theonofswords3764
Lets wait until after the Bok game. I think that will tell a lot
Such a small margin between them in world rankings
Yeah, should be a very good game!!
The IRFUs strategy over the last number of years is an incredible success. Grassroots has never been better, viewership is constantly growing, we have cemented our claim to being one of the best international sides in the world and all four provinces would be considered some of the biggest clubs in the world. Whether we win this world cup or not, Irish Rugby is in the best place it ever has been. I hope to see that continue.
Yea it's such a crazy difference between us and UK. Rugby is drowning over there and somehow it's doing better than even in Ireland. Rugby will be as big as hurling soon hahaha
I hope they do make it through the quarters. The finals should be Ireland vs SA. Now I just hope SA makes it through the quarters
Very difficult quarters on that side of the draw for all involved
watching Irelands rise has been amazing an to anyone paying attention only a matter of time!! this is your cup to lose an as a proud welsh man that kills me to say as we are going in the opposite direction big time!!!
Wales are. a great World Cup team.. They'll have a say yet but I hope ur right.. Ireland have the tools now lets see them do it!
@@crw45able6 nations result France v Ireland? Without Sexton. France had a serious squad too.
@@johnmc3862, Unfortunately you're sounding just like "Dunphy" as in: Ireland would always have played better "if" Andy Reid was picked to play. Now if Ireland don't win a crucial game it's because "Sexton was not playing." So there you have it --3 or 4 years of preparation and "development" and now we're ##@ked because our 38 year-old champ wasn't "available through an injury? What wonderful preparation and foresight but worse to come...was it because Ross Byrne or was it Harry or Kieran Frawley? No other possible out halves? Jeez, the Tipperary man sent to Scotland because no potential . Klein let go to the Springboks when playing best season of his career. Wouldn't it be ironic if Klein and Snyman start for SA against? What about the lineout...from which Ireland score most of their tries? What if Healey comes on for Scotland against and kicks a couple of 55 yard penalties or a fifty yard drop goal? All possible bad dreams which a bit more open minded, open eyed approach and preparation could have avoided. Hard gruel may be frowned upon but it may be the better diet than pie-in-the-sky. I hope I am wrong but for many a year now I am more inclined to follow logic. It is less hurtful in the end. Things never look rosier than when one is up near the Sun. Remember " Icarus."
Wales are doing well in this world cup we will make the semi finals at least 🏴🏴🏴🏴
Another great vid hoping for a win for Ireland 🇮🇪
As a New Zealander, I’m so pumped for Ireland vs SA next week!!
@@crw45able what a battle! Well done Ireland! 🇮🇪
The amount of whining from the fans of other teams 😂 If all y’all really thought Ireland didn’t stand a chance, you wouldn’t be so obsessed with us
I love the Boks, but Ireland are a very, very good team. With or without Sexton their top team is incredibly hard to beat. Next weeks game is going to be a hell of a match, I don't think either team will dominate easily, can't wait for it! If Ireland beat us then I believe you will make the final.
Munster started it all in 2006 under Kidney. Set the stall out and then again in 2008. The belief that team had was incredible.
It was actually ulster in 2000
@@BobH-eh8wu you’re right, but wasn’t it 1999?
@@RoyBattyLives 1999. Vs Colomiers.
Funny how people write off Ireland 🇮🇪 and New Zealand 🇳🇿.
You can't write of Ireland, right now they are very good and a much better team than NZ
@@glen1482 so you're writing off New Zealand. !!!
@martinfinlay5971 yes sir, NZ don't have the forwards to win this cup
@@glen1482 so when New Zealand get to the quarter finals..you will give them no chance!!!!
Definitely the strongest squad Ireland have had now need to get down to business. Larmour was Irelands best player in the last world cup and had no chance of making this squad.
That’s how much Ireland have evolved.
As a Kiwi if I have to lose it wouldn't be so bad if it was to Ireland in the finals. For that to happen you have to come second in your pool so we don't knock you out again in the quarters.
2009 was absolutely massive. I remember when Ireland were perennial underdogs. To get to a point where winning a grand slam in 2023 is “the cherry on the cake” is truly incredible. World cups are so hard to win though the IRFU have put Ireland in the best position possible to give them a chance!
We will be scotlands last chance, they have that Celtic fight in them and you seen them beat France a few weeks back. SA are a really good side and so passionate. I don’t like the scheduling, but if we are to ever get to or past the quarters. These are obstacles you need to overcome. We are getting stronger every year and the provinces set up has really been beneficial, the structure and set up. It’s even mad to think Rugby is Irelands 4th place sport after GAA and Soccer. I hope it’s our year. But definitely our strongest most experienced and skilled so far.
They scraped past Frances C team and celebrated like they won world cup
Everyone's saying Ireland should treat the quarter final like the actual final.
I think they should treat NEXT WEEK like the final.
At first I didn't take the boks seriously after they clattered the abs because, really, what can ya tell from warm ups? It's a different pitch every day. But their handling of the scots... you can bet Andy Farrell will be watching next week very closely.
No one wants to meet france this early in the tournament. Its like a death sentence.
SA very tough to best tbh
Ireland winning a series in NZ and following up with a grand slam is much bigger than making a World Cup semi final.
Also Ireland has national games , hurling and Gaelic football making rugby number 4 in popularity. As the game grows more youngsters will get involved further strengthening the sport.
New Zealand is the only country where rugby is the defacto most popular sport.
Literally every other (elite rugby playing) country it’s second or third at best even wales and SA have cricket or soccer which probably has more player numbers.
Only one thing matters to this Irish squad and that's bringing the Webb Ellis trophy back to the emerald Isle.
Who cares about semi final and final losses. It's about getting the trophy.
What are you talking about it’s the number one sport in wales. And South Africa, France and England have 8 times our playing population. Not to mention they’re all juiced out of their minds.
@@BobH-eh8wu and the Pacific Islands Samoa, Tonga and Fiji it is Rugby
@@michaelcoyne3700no its the number 1 sport in Madagascar,Georgia,Wales,NZ and all the islands cricket is the second biggest sport in the world but is only the number 1 sport in 3-4 countries volleyball is very popular yet i don't think it's the number 1 sport anywhere most sports are number 2 or more in most countries because of soccer
Ireland will have a idea where they stand after the South Africa game, so either way it doesn't matter. Ireland should be more worried about Scotland, they will have they tails up come final decider game of the group
Didn beat us since 2017. After what we seen Sunday we won't be that worried.
I didn't see much to be afraid of in that Scotland game.
SA will try slow down our ruck and they may succeed on occasions but it won't be enough in my opinion.
Ireland by 10.
If they lose to South Africa all the pressure will be on Ireland in the Scotland game

Pool stage exit for Ireland I'm afraid
@@RazorMouthbro you all said that in 2019 when you were also world number 1
Yeah! You beat Romania! Until the last pool match, it's too early to say. You do look good though
Go Irish name there lad!
He's Scottish pal.
Of course it's too early to say but Ireland looked extremely fit in that 36 degrees heat, fast slick passing and quality line running.
Run metres also off the charts.
I didn't see much from SA to worry too much about in that Scotland game, that rush defence will be no problem for Ireland we've demolished many other teams using that outdated strategy.
Should be a cracker but I'm predicting Ireland by 10.
@RazorMouth the irish team will show the boks due regard and they're a very good team like ireland and they have facets to their game any team would worry about the same as ireland have so it's 50/50.
@@conchronic my comment was based on SAs style vs Scotland.
@@RazorMouth well they did nt need to play that well to beat Scotland in this game so can't judge on that.
In 2015, they lose O'Connell, Sexton, O'Brien and O'Mahony for that QF.
And Tommy Bowe got injured early in the game as well.
Having lived through it all I know it all, but still worth watching. (Though not fond of the overuse of would when talking about the past) Thumbed up.

I like the pro structure in NZ and IRE. It is t working well for Wales but I think we should adopt it in England.
South African, but I cannot shake the feeling this is the one for Ireland.
How many Irish are actually playing in the Irish side for the Rugby World Cup 2023?
And all the Bokke are truly South Africans

Just France standing in Ireland's way.
France Ireland final I think.

The Boks might have a say in that...
Come on ireland! 🇮🇪
Ireland have played against Romania and Tonga. Both should be 50 point + victories. Let's see how they suffice against Scotland and South Africa. Knockout rugby is a different beast!
I think Ireland want Grance in the quarter finals. So with France having beaten NZ. That means a loss to SA would. Set up France Ireland and NZ SA quarter final. In that case I see Ireland throught to the final, but.probably loosing on the final.
I really think we are the best at full strength, only the South Africans I’m a bit wary of. World is quiet doable if we continue this form

France has not lost at home for a very long time!
We gave them a good run of it last year without sexton were the better team better decision making we had them on the ropes we would have beat them. Only one team has completely shut them down in 2 years.
Paris is a graveyard for the Irish national team ,never won a single match in the parc des princes . 2 wins in 50 yrs doesn't bring confidence
@@AlT-bi9sp things are very different . What is it with the irish expecting failure and having no belief

If Ireland win the Cup... Dublin's maternity wards are going to be full in 9 months!
I would only thing of getting out of the group then out of the quarter finals etc. I'm irish to I wouldn't think that far ahead

Everyone is saying Ireland have never made to the quarter final as if they were always the favourite in it. Apart from 2011 and 2015, when were they expected to win.
If Ireland make it past the quarters then I can’t see any team beating them in the semis or final.
Hopefully Ireland AND the Boks make it past the QF's and semi's. Potentially great final, and a chance to play twice in one Cup. If the Boks don't win the Cup I would prefer Ireland over any of the other teams. Good luck!
Seriously? France? Home nation with a very good record on home soil against Ireland?
I feel if Ireland pass quarters it’ll be like Spain 🇪🇸 2010 FIFA World Cup, they’ll go all way, prior to 2010 whilst Spain 🇪🇸 technically came 4th in 1950 they never made it passed quarters in a knockout format the quarter was always their great obstacle but in 2010 they overcame. I feel if Ireland can overcome this great obstacle they can go all the way.
They'll definitely beat the All blacks in the quarter finals if they meet. The All Blacks' current form is shockingly bad, and that's coming from a kiwi.
Right now, Ireland are way tougher than the AB's to play against. They are a very organised team and compared to previous attempts they have a great game plan for WC rugby. As a Bok supporter I sincerely hope we beat them in pool play because I would not enjoy having to face France in the QF's. On current form I believe the AB's will lose in the QF's no matter who they face. Ireland certainly a hot prospect to progress to semi's.
Talk it up
@@joedennehy386 Happy to 😁😂
AB's can turn it around before the knock outs. Remember their form in the Rugby Championship? Be careful what you wish for! I think SA will top group B so they will face the AB's. Those teams know each other so well that makes it tougher in my opinion. Likewise Ireland and France (if Ireland beat the Scots of course).
@@tonwhelan AB's have serious problems up front, not enough cattle to produce ball for their backs. Your forwards are just looking too fragile right now, missing Frizell and tight 5 back up players. Both Ireland and the Bokke have the beating of the current crop. Same Cane not providing leadership either. If you don't get 20 points in the first 20 mins, then I'm afraid it's an early exit. Good luck
