america is enamoured with its own extroversion and narcissism. but then no different to anywhere else or anyone else. we all have needs and we will do almost anything to satisfy them. i think the key to meeting our emotional needs is to go beyond good and evil and into the realm of the unconscious. where we can be what we opress without the pretention of hypocrisy.
You're a friggin' saint! I'm also on the same path as you, working on my first clip, and your work is the perfect research material for this topic. Really glad I finally discovered you!
I certainly really appreciate this sentiment. :) But that would be quite a tall order to fill, and I don't have any money to compensate you for your efforts. So, if it's really something that you want to do, I would certainly appreciate it. But don't in any way feel obligated. Thank you.
Grounding is a great word and alternative for Gurdjieff's Self-remembering or Eckhart Tolle's "Anchoring in the Now" or the eastern "Here and Now" or the Ancient Greek I-Being...it is the cornerstone, the door to human evolution but it seems simplistic and abstract and mostly boring....people would prefer to wonder and daydream than be grounded....
An interesting realization which can dawn on you through mindfulness of intense sensations of pain or pleasure, is that the feelings aren't solid. Many people suffer agonizing pain, & in my case through kundalini related bliss, which is quite debilitating at times. For some people, depression can cause them to be non functional. With very intense physical sensation, it can be like being mindful when you stub your toe. Such acute sensation when prolonged, can feel too overwhelming to work with, even if one has the conceptual understanding & intention. I've found though, that working with a mildly intense sensation like an itch from time to time, really helps. Instead of scratching; I look at the itch, resting my attention there until it's the only thing there is. Beliefs/projections, I didn't know I had begin to fall away, & I notice that the sensation is constantly moving & changing into other sensations. Still, it often takes a lot for me to stay present to certain sensations in the body without freaking out, but I'm working on it:)
That's a great process to do for these types of things. There is a process called Strong Determination Sitting where you sit in meditation and you remain physically still for the entire allotted amount of time. So, if you have an itch or a cramp, you just let it be there and observe the sensations. You zoom into it, and then zoom out from it with your awareness.
You don't have to make the pain go away, but you can change your relationship to it. If you take up the pain itself as an object of mindfulness; you may become aware that it's not what you think it is at face value. Pain can be a gateway to realization, like many other intense experiences of the body. In my case, I'm one one of those people who suffers from unending orgasm, which makes functioning in the world extremely challenging. I use it as my main object of concentration, which opens up a big space of awareness, when I stay with it. I get overwhelmed sometimes, but it definitely helps:)
Observation is the thought. No thought, no separation between observer and observed. We can only observe through thought. The interpreter is always there, if not, how would you know?
Thank you for pointing this out. I had always been trying to draw the distinction between observation and thought, where one stops and the other starts. I guess a better term than observe is simply to rest as awareness.
You ability to conceptualize complex phenomenons into workable frameworks is unmatched as far as I'm concerned. Is there any possibility that you would do a video analyzing the distinctions between emotions arising as a result of (negative) conditioning vs emotions arising as a result of an individual's 'true nature' so to speak. Whenever therapists in general are recommending people to listen to their emotions they often don't address the fact that these (conditioned) emotions may not serve the client in their quest to become more grounded in their 'true being'. How may we as human beings learn to navigate between emotions that need a critical look as opposed to unconditioned (I.e. unperverted) emotions in our quest for mental health- and stability. I think that this question also addresses the issue of troublesome attachments/identification that you've done videos on previously. Keep up the good work. Greetings from Copenhagen, Denmark
she's a manager and when she got mad, I had to reassure the other manager who triggered her anger just from asking questions on a order. that it was fine and that we had to make these pizzas and get the order out. I noticed something not being right and had to take positive action immediately
One of his people contacted me and asked me if I'd like to talk with Athene when he goes on Discord, because i left a comment on his "debate me" video. The person said that my comment was interesting and that they were looking for a variety of critiques. So, I agreed to do it. I didn't realize until after I'd agreed that I would actually be debating him like he wanted the other bigger UA-camrs to debate him. I just sort of expected a discourse between Athene and others on Discord in a more informal way, like a group chat. But once I spoke to another person on his team, I realized that I was actually to debate him. So, even though I don't really like to debate people persay (unless I'm really in the mood for a sparring match), I went ahead with it anyway because it gives my channel some exposure and I also like to share my perspective. He was not very receptive though, and I have a hard time talking to people who speak a lot more than they listen. I also have a general rule that I don't interrupt people and listen to what someone says all the way through as a sign of respect. This is a rule that I stick to even if the person doesn't give me that same respect. The exception to this is if the conversation is really important. But otherwise, I just let the person do what they do. "Lend every man thy ear but few thy voice" as Shakespeare said. It's unfortunate that he's not more open though. However, it was still interesting none-the-less.
I can't get through a single day without drugs ,been that way for about forty years .self medicated permanently.how can anyone stand this existence without drugs ?
I'm not a therapist. I'm just a layman with a long-standing habit of contemplation and a curiosity for existential truths. Basically, I'm a seeker. I have been considering talking to people one on one, but I want to be sure that I'm prepared for it first before deciding to do that. I would probably want to learn some things about life coaching first though and the basic manner and procedures that psychologists use, so I don't inadvertently cause my potential clients harm due to my inexperience with talking to people in a therapy kind of way. For now, I feel more comfortable casually answering questions on comments and such though.
The Diamond Net you have a gift and should use it. I am a lawyer and in the middle of total life melt down and have had a hard time finding a therapist that knows what they are doing or is effective. They just haven't seemed very smart or deep or i always felt smarter than them on the subject. You should def get certified and go full force with this. You're truly a rare diamond.
Thank you! :) I have considered going back to school for psychology. It would just take a lot of time, money, and energy that I don't currently possess. But perhaps, at some point in the future when my kids are bigger and life is a bit more stable, I will do that. Thank you again for the encouragement.
Thank You Emerald!!! Cheers!!!!
That's why body scan meditation is tremendously helpful
Emotions are important as much as intellect.
I love Emerald’s thumbnail pictures. They’re so adorable.
Great video as always Emerald!
Thank you! :D

Hi, Emerald, thank you
You're welcome! :D
You are really quite something. You get me thinking about things in a different way.
Thank you! Very helpful, specially during these difficult times in Chile due to the wildfires..
I'm glad to hear that my video has been helpful to you. I wish you the best of luck and well-being to recuperate from the wildfires.

Good!
Hi, if I have the time, could I subtitle your videos, with spanish? I think they are really important, and helpful for a lot of people

Americans do express a wide of emotions through art and music. That's something.
in simple sense, I think it would take a artist to understand an artist
The ice fishing ad in this video answered my question
I love your content, thanks ❤️

Thank you, Emerald. Would you consider submitting your feed to a podcast directory? would really help with on-the-go listening ;)
You're welcome! :D I have considered it before. I'm a little behind right now. But I'll definitely keep it in mind for the future.
your content is excellent. The quality of the stuff you teach is on par with the most famous development teachers. I think I love you
Thank you! :)
Very helpful Emerald, thank you. I only just found your channel yesterday. :)
You're welcome! I hope you enjoy it! :)

I felel dumber after watching your "debate" with Athene. He just talks over you for an hour and a half. Why debate him at all?
