The stuff is just the best! I think It'd Be great if Fuji rereleased packfilm as an Instax film and maybe make a camera for it. It's wishful thinking, but I think the Instax brand could carry it, but we'll take what we can get so if Kodak wants to step up to the plate, I wish them the best and I'd be welcoming of it. I have a Polaroid 240 but film is expensive. It'd be nice to have a cheaper packfilm.
Pack film would probably be more marketable to the large format shooters than packfilm camera users. I am still waiting for the Lomography Instax wide back for my 4x5.
In response to some topics being too niche (11:20ish), the gear and topics are only half the video. Your passion towards the topic is what makes the video fun to watch.
I think if people continue to invest in smaller ventures, we can eventually rescale color film (and yes, that's an extreme task, but this we can aim high!) ... Also, we need to figure out what tech billionaire we need to get to fall in love with packfilm.
My SX-70 is my portrait camera of choice, the aspect ratio, the colors, the phisical feel of holding a photo in your hand. I just prefer it over my Olympus OM10, or any other camera for portraits.
Type 55 and 665 my all time favorites , both making great negatives to work from . Making polapan internegatives for big fiber prints where great too .
B/W film seems quite alive. There are so many options for reasonable prices: Ilford, bergger, foma, rollei. On the other hand with color there's kodak and nothing much, also quite expensive
Totally! It’s a beautiful boom - but yeah, after Kodak there’s Fuji which is clearly extracting from the market and then only a smattering of hope elsewhere.
I skateboarded as a youth (Waaay-back, like at the beginning, before commercial boards were available, make your own from your old metal skates and a plank.) and I still felt the hit when that guy took a tumble. My skin actual tingled a little.
Hey Ben! Super stoked you answered my question about Cape Cod! I'm actually from the area, so I'll be sure to check out some of those hot locales you mentioned!
@@InAnInstant I'm more optimistic about it. Kodak now has more Color FIlm than they ever have had. And Silberra in russia now make some quite nice C41 films. We know Ferrania will get there one day, and ORWO has a Color based announcement coming soon.
I shoot mainly 4x5 Provia and I'm really scared of Fuji discontinuing it even more now since they've taken Velvia 100 off the US market. Please don't take my bread and butter away
They were forced to take Velvia 100 off the US market because of the EPA. It wasn't a voluntary decision and its still for sale in the rest of the world.
Just found your channel and am binge watching all the episodes I only have a Polaroid P yes the ugly one but I love using it. Back in the 80s my mum had one of the Kodak instant cameras and we would argue over who would get to use it cause it was so much fun and I took the last photo ever on that camera fun times. My daughter will grow up with film both instant and 35mm 120 she's only 3 and already fascinated by photos and photography
If Kodak actually release Pack Film, I will buy a case of the film the moment I can get my hands on some. I got my first pack film camera just a few weeks before it got shut down and I was only able to get a few boxes.
New 35mm and 120 film cameras are what the future of film photography hinges on. Right now, there is nothing to fill that void. It would amazing if Pentax reintroduced the 645NII since they still produce 645 lenses... but I don't think they will.
Agreed; Pentax sits in a very rare spot in the camera industry. Their digital user base is already “niche” given the dominance of Canon/Sony/Panasonic. They are best positioned to do something like that IMO!
Dope as always. 2 questions. 1. Some tin-type photos are faster to develop than standard modern film. Would you consider that to maybe be the first instant type film format? Also maybe a possible video idea? #makeitso. 2. Have you worked with any Berkeys lately? #berkeybros, #berkeybest #doinker?
I would consider it to be a way to develop film quickly, but not instant film because instant film implies a contained chemical process. I could shoot a black and white photo and develop it in 5 minutes but that doesn’t make it instant. But I see what you’re saying!! And as always I am a Berkey bro but haven’t shot much of it lately #doinkerarmy
Sweet mother of GOD PLEASE KODAK PLEASE!!!!!! WE NEED PACKFILM I love what Supersense has done but its very boutique and expensive... If you build it they will COME KODAK!!!!!
Hey! Is there any news if Brooklyn Film Camera will be restocking those Polaroid boxes? I've been looking for a solution for how to store film for FOREVER
At dusk with a fair bit of light around I would shot the camera automatically. You might get some amazing results at this time of day, depending on what you’re shooting and if it has any residual or artificial light cast on it. As light dampens, grab a tripod!
Wait....Fuji are leaving the instant film market? I was literally going to purchase an Instax Mini Link next week. Is it not worth doing now? I may have miss-understood.
We all love pack film...but let me say something controversial. If polaroid was to bring one film type back it should be polachrome, the ability for an average photographer into film to develop their rolls at home....well that would be big for business
I agree, it would be much more easily recognizable and marketable. Packfilm is virtually unknown to the masses and would not sell well enough to be worth production costs.
Speaking as someone whos too young/too poor to have ever shot packfilm, Kodak packfilm absolutley needs to happen, that stuff just looks like magic!
The best and most satisfying instant film experience.
Agreed Mr. Cactus, it is a MUST!

Gotta organize a day where the analog community can get #KodakPackfilm to trend all over.
We’ve almost gotten there before haha, to the point where Kodak has had to address us multiple times on IG 😂
Pack film would probably be more marketable to the large format shooters than packfilm camera users. I am still waiting for the Lomography Instax wide back for my 4x5.
As usual, entertaining and informative. Keep making new videos on any instant film topic!
Benjamin.
I love these glasses of yours.
Huge for B.
Love,

CV! Vissy Spice! I love whatever glasses you are wearing right now!
Would LOVE some Kodak Packfilm!

That is great to hear Dylan, I hope people keep getting a kick out of that vibe!

My SX-70 is my portrait camera of choice, the aspect ratio, the colors, the phisical feel of holding a photo in your hand. I just prefer it over my Olympus OM10, or any other camera for portraits.
It’s wondrous for portraits! The large format look in a slim design unrivaled.

Instant film is magic!!! That's all you need to say!!! My first instant camera was a Colorpack II!!!
AGREED UNEQUIVOCALLY
NASA video was definitely one of my favs !

Long time no see Ben, love to see you back on my feed!
And yes we do need more cheap polaroid film!
BP!! Great to see you mate
Hi Ben, would you be interested to try out our instant camera? It's an interchangeable lens SLR camera working with fuji Instax mini film.
I have heard of your camera! Would definitely love to try that out!! I am on IG @the.instantgram if you want to discuss
I forget how much better the original film was! It was brilliant! Land was a genius!
Absolute titan of science and art!!

would be pretty slay of kodak to come back to the instant photography world

Didn’t know I was talkin to a local! Hope you enjoy those spots 🕺🏻
Dude, I'm so worried about colour film's future! Glad I'm not the only one.
I’m shaking as I type this

He always makes mindblowing work!

The NASA video was definitely one of my favorites!
I love it to the moon and back ❤️
bro im from rochester! my grandpa was an engineer for kodak. I even have a few old papers with his patents on them
Dude that’s so dope!!
Thanks for another great video! :)
Thank YOU!!

I got my first pack film camera just a few weeks before it got shut down and I was only able to get a few boxes.
Oof, yeah I’d do the same my guy!!
I wish that they Bring back the Polaroid Instant Slide film...

Let's go! You're a dime, my guy.
No you!! 😭😭😭
Ooooh man, if Kodak made packfilm, I would buy that in an instant.
(see wut I did there?) -_-
I DO SEE IT PETER, AND YOU ARE A HERO
about the polapan: YES CAN'T WAIT
Great job 👏 👍 👌 🙌
Hey Ben! Is it possible to have a link to the Discord? The ones I see in the comments are expired. Thanks!
Absolutely Andrea! Here you go: discord.gg/qFexfVX4
i submitted a question and it didn’t get featured:(
The chemestry is here for sure (and not just the film) !
And Ben, you pronounce my name perfectly now!😍
I am legitimately proud of this, we’ve come a long way!!
Hey! Is there any news if Brooklyn Film Camera will be restocking those Polaroid boxes? I've been looking for a solution for how to store film for FOREVER
Hey Sarah!! I’m sure they’ll be back in stock soon 🙂
Also do you think the Kodak super eight camera is ever going to come out?
When Pigs finally stand up and walk on two legs!!
@@InAnInstant at this point it feels like a fever dream from long ago 😂
Any 2022 update on Packfilm
what is that little polaroid next to the polaroid go??
What are these silver frames in the background? :-O
Those are Polaroid 8x10s!
Just wondering what would be the best way to shoot the sky and scenery at dusk and night time cheers
At dusk with a fair bit of light around I would shot the camera automatically. You might get some amazing results at this time of day, depending on what you’re shooting and if it has any residual or artificial light cast on it. As light dampens, grab a tripod!
For your future of film prognostications, were your comments limited to print film or were you also referring to slide film?
I reckon they’re inextricably interwoven, but slide definitely has a more tenuous future if Kodak fumbles the bag!
where does one get the Polaroid Pizza shirt?
It’s an old Tog Tees design; they’ve since rebranded to Photogenic Supply, not sure if they’ve still got it www.photogenicsupply.com/collections/all
Wait....Fuji are leaving the instant film market? I was literally going to purchase an Instax Mini Link next week. Is it not worth doing now? I may have miss-understood.
Fuji is not leaving the instant film market, but they are slowly extracting out of the traditional film market.
@@InAnInstant Oh I see. I guess I did misunderstand lol
Woohoo!
Bro I'll service a large format camera user

WHAT INSTANT CAMERA GIVES THE SHARPEST PICTURES?????
PROBABLY A MAMIYA RB67 WITH AN INSTAX SQUARE BACK
an affordable camera? thx
Instax Mini 8 or any Fuji’s are plenty sharp
Kid Ben is so cute 🥰
He was doing his best 😂
I never heard that Germany still produces color film (except the negatives for Polaroid) and i am German😅😂.
I dont think there are any to be honest. Adox is the only one i know of making film at all. And they only do B&W.
There are, but I can’t say much more than that unfortunately.
First haha !
My god he’s done it!!
