- It may have taken some time for us to see things clearly, but whatever we have seen so far from the Lakers points to the idea that maybe Russell Westbrook was never the problem after all! All of the Lakers' struggles still continue in the 2023-24 season as well, despite LeBron James and Anthony Davis playing more games than the last season and with Russell Westbrook "taking his talents" to the other side of LA, with the Clippers, he's currently riding high with ex-teammates like Paul George and James Harden, sitting pretty at #3 in the Western Conference so far (compared to a dismal #9 for the Lakers)!
His love for the game still remains, he looks happier, and is contributing more effectively to the team's success. So was it just the Lakers and their suppressed issues which made Russell Westbrook the scapegoat? Have your say and let us know in the comments section below!

Brody put up 16, 7.5 and 6 while coming off the bench with the lakers. Give those numbers to another player and they are wining 6th man of the year.
I criticized Russ his whole career but the Lakers were doing him dirty from the start. Not sure what they expected from turning him into a spot shooter.

I hated it when I found out Russ was going to the Lakers because I know he would be playing with all-star and talent killer LeVampire. It was evident as soon as they started playing together, and I know Russ was not a very good shooter, him and LeFraud had the same ball dominant play style. Sure he wasnt playing well, but what people dont notice or refuse to, is that LeFlop is also part of the Laker's miserable plays. Russ' play was being put on leashed as shown by his fumbles and you can see when he moved to the clippers that allowed to play his style. Another thing that pisses me off to this days is LeFake and his media conglomerates character assasination of Russ just to divert all the blame and make the real vampire, LeFake look good. Deny it or not, just shows LeFake does not make his teammates better, only his overall stats. And real basketball fans know and see that AD was the real the team not LeFraud, and shouldve gotten the MVP of that weak-assed bubble-Mickey Mouse championship. And on a span when Bron was out, Russ and AD were actually playing well together. And now who is LeBlame's scapegout??? DLo! And what did DLo do when LeBron wasnt playing??? Yeah he played better!!! I am glad Russ is away from that guy, and I really he would win a ring with the Clips.
Russ was playing better in okc becuase he was there #1pg on arrival. And then was about to get the blame again when harden arrived. But Harden became a bigger problem lol. Russ finally willingly went to the bench. And now he is flourishing

When you become a Lebron teammate, automatically you become part of the Lebron needs more help narrative. That's just the way it is. Facts! More about team composition. He was part of the problem in Lakers, Lakers needed 3 point shooters who can spread the floor, not a ball needy turn over machine who can't shoot.

Lets forget that he was bouncin from team to team and his game got expose in LAL. The guy was humbled, work on his game to be where he’s at, accepted the role where he could shine. For your information Westbrook got drafted and is in the NBA because of his hops, speed, high motor, defense, and explosive first step. And open jump shots are for players playing off the ball Westbrook runs the show he is a PG.

You can’t tell me Westbrook wasn’t intentionally sabotaging while on the lakers … if you say anything else you didn’t watch every game. Even when playing without lebron or AD he was throwing the ball out of bounds and missing the entire basket / backboard more often then getting an assist or bucket.
Bruh he averaged 18 8 8 his first year as a laker as a third option. With an old ass roster that couldn’t defend nor run in transition. Lebron and Ad Injured a majority of the season. And with zero spacing to do what he does best. Russ didn’t play his best with the Lakers. There’s no ignoring that. He had games where he shot poorly and the turnovers weren’t helping. Some games the lost cause of him. But given what he had to work with. He didn’t do as bad as laker fans and the media claimed.
