Adam,Awesome work as always. 2 things, an old Luther's trick that would work to fith the trigger guard to the bottom of the receiver, would be to double stick tape sandpaper to the receiver then sand the trigger guard directly onto the receiver. Second, look into a vortex cold air gun, you can use it to cool stuff that you are cutting and machining when coolant is not possible, you can get one and moke it from machine to machine.

I think the best part of watching Adam work through his projects is this: We come here to watch a talented, passionate, and very experienced maker. It comes with this expectation of, "This guy knows what he's doing.", and yet, his humility is inspiring. Even Adam is still learning and exploring, failing and succeeding, making and remaking as he moves through these projects. I've learned to break things down into smaller shapes and tasks to understand them, and to be entirely accepting, even welcoming of failure, provided I keep moving towards my goal. Thanks Adam. It's wonderful to have a person like you as an example for people like us.

Loving this build series. It's so satisfying and inspiring to see someone hone their craft for the sheer sake of improving! It's also a testament to how placing your attention on something creative can help one overcome personal issues in a productive way. I know Adam went into this after hearing the news regarding Grant, but now I like to think that he will look at this prop with fondness. @@matthewb8229 It's funny when you run into a lazy person who lives by that methodology but they aren't anywhere near smart enough to pull it off or they just think they're far smarter than they are. So you have to be a bit careful with that sword, as it often has a much rougher edge than it appears.
I work with a guy who tries to find some personally supposed 'lazy' shortcut to everything and in the end it always ends up being some overly convoluted way of going about things where you want to ask him why, but you're too dazed by the logic that would make him think it's actually quicker or in any way easier the way he chooses to do it. One of his more recent ones is where, instead of just dragging and dropping one of our standalone installers to the user's PC and installing it, he has the files on his personal OneDrive and he adds them to it so it copies over. Then he manually gives them admin rights to install it themselves and walks them through each step of that as well as how to get into it and set it up. Meanwhile the rest of us just copy the files over, install and configure it ourselves, and gave the user's the thumbs up that it's all set.
I won't go into details as 'TLDR', but to most IT people I think it would be clear why what he's doing is a lot more work and far more tedious than just doing it 'normal'. Though to be clear, he's such an obnoxious stubborn ass there's no point in trying to explain it to him even if he would listen - which to be clear he's shown in the past that he won't, so we aren't just setting him up or anything. Hell, he almost got himself fired at least a dozen times already (really not sure how he's survived tbh)...one of which was for something as stupid as being because he won't use the proper remote tools and has caused some serious issues for some high up people as a result.

for the rotation of the cylinder, could have built a ball detent into the upper rail assembly, trapping the ball detent between the cylinder and the rail. that would hold the cylinder in place, until of course you apply enough force to overcome the spring, it would have had a more sturdy hold on the cylinder(magnets have a lot of slop when they rotate around), and you would get that awesome click sound as well! Awesome build, all the same, I love this series!

I always love Adam's attention to detail.
I'm really curious now what it looks like for a prop like this to be made, as if it were on a real set.
For example: instead of getting the trigger guard perfectly centered, winging it to get it close enough for the screen.
Adam, would you be willing to do a one day build, where you instead focus on getting it screen ready instead of accurate?
I would love to see where the corners can be cut, and where your expertise shows you that you can skip steps because they don't matter.
With all your work, and especially everything you have posted to this channel, I can see love getting things to *feel* right, which I absolutely love and is what keeps inspiring me.
I would just also appreciate a peek under the hood of "showbiz" model making, where the look is more important than the function.
If it is not something you would enjoy doing, then please ignore this :D
More than anything, I would love to hear more stories and learn more from your experience.

I can’t remember how the grip in the film was configured. But having been around firearms my entire life, of the hundreds of revolvers I’ve handled, only two had a slide on grip. With revolvers, usually the grip is in two halves that sort of sandwich the frame. Because the main spring lies within the frame between the front strap & back strap… and occasionally that spring has to be maintained Cleaning, oiling, sometimes even replacing. Plus it’d make the manufacture of the grip a lot easier I would imagine.
At any rate, that thing looks FANTASTIC! It looks as if it would actually fire, and a handgun that size would knock me into the next county I would think. 🤣
Beautiful workmanship & I cannot thank you enough for sharing this project with the world. Much respect, Adam. 👍🏼

when Adam pulled out that calculator, all i could hear were the ghost voices of all my previous math teachers saying "you won't always have a calculator with you everyday in the real world".....and a tinge of horror crept up my spine as i sat in silence trying desperately to solve equations without a calculator or counting on my fingers those many years ago.

Their minds would have been blown if I had a scientific calculator. But just that disposable I had was still amazing to them. Now I'm wondering whatever happened to that thing. I love this for so many reasons. Love the topic, the build and the machining. My grandfather was a machinist and owned a machining business in Southern California (Falcon Products). He did a lot of work for the major airline companies of the day (60’s & 70’s), Boeing being just one of them. I was just 7 years old but the memory of the smell of machinists oil to this day makes me smile. I was just a kid unfortunately in those days but I would give anything to have been a little older to learn the craft.

One thing I find hilarious with any prop making is just how much time, effort, skill, planning, and whatever else goes into something that the original maker just threw together and said "That looks cool."
Like Luke's lightsaber when Star Wars first was made. The team probably thought "We have a broken handle to a Graflex. What can we add to it to make it a laser sword?"
Now Graflex handles are very hard to find because fans.

    ADAM!!!!
You are super talented and one of my favorite people on earth. I’ve fallowed you’re career since your very first appearance on television. And if I could give a single piece of advice that’s helped me…
You should really take a few blue printing classes. Machinists blueprint classes. Even at some cheap night school. It would do wonders for your work and understanding/comprehension. I know it’s hard to just take a simple night class when you’re famous or whatever… But if you have course material you’re following… You’ll learn much more than trying to teach yourself online.
I’ve always had manual machines and CNc’s in my life, i’ve always worked with heavy machinery making my own things since I was a kid in my dad’s shop.... and after more than a decade in business for myself with several years of back ordered client lists… I thought I knew what I was doing.
BUT once I took a REAL MACHINISTS blueprinting class or two, or four… It helped me more than anything.
And what goes hand-in-hand with interpreting blueprints and is most important… Is “order of operations“. try to work with some retired and grumpy old school machinists who can teach you order of operations in regards to the plan your working from.
Being a machinist is just like anything else. There are classic methods and ways to be “classically trained.” Just like chefs, symphony players/professional musicians, and professional oil painters. There’s a “classical“ way to approach things.
Those 1950s and 60s “classical” machinists will work circles around modern day “professionals“.
