Can you believe that one of the most common requests I got in 2019 was to do another WestJet review? I first flew with them in 2016, and I’ve been feeling the itch (and pressure!) to give them another go. Have things deteriorated since my last experience? Or is WestJet really turning into the best Canadian Airline that everyone says it is?
Follow along with me on flight number 1698 from Vancouver to Los Angeles, and I’ll give you my honest opinion of the WestJet economy class experience! This is footage from seat 6A, which is a “premium” economy seat with a few extra inches of leg room.
The aircraft registration was C-GAWS, and the flight time was two and a half hours.

Ah WestJet. I've tried them once but back in 2014, still was a great flight from SAN > YYC. Seems like you enjoyed them as well and well now I've gotta try their extra legroom seats, doesn't seem like too much difference though.

I'm from Vancouver and flew this route a number of times!
Economy class for the 787 review. The bulk of UA-cam aviation reviews focus on the business class products. While nice, that's not how most people travel. Thug it out with the rest of us!

Thinking of the Westjet 787 review. Come to London Gatwick on a return ticket but one way in business and the other economy, sorted!

Could you fly with Jet2. They are a low cost carrier who operate out of London Standsted and fly to plenty of destinations around Europe.
At first, I was thinking...FINALLY! You are doing the 787 WestJet at last... Then you say its a 737.....Grrrrrrrr. All jokes aside, this was a great video and I really enjoyed it! Nice (BTW Please do a economy class 787 review when you get to it!! There are not many westjet 787 eco class videos on youtube)
Looks like you rode a newly renovated 737 w/ the new premium economy cabin. The seat you had was a preferred seat which offers I believe the same pitch as their old Plus seats (a few (3-4 is what I consider a few) inches more pitch like you said) and maybe 1-2” more recline cause I read that was another advantage of sitting in the Plus seats.
Can't wait for the 787!!

How about a review on westjet economy(extra legroom) from Detroit to Vancouver. - Delta partnered with this airline. The flight will be under 5 hours. Will start end of April 2024.
You can fly the 787 domestically from YYZ-YYC. I think the frequency is 4x weekly but I could be wrong

Economy review, or premium economy. I don't care much for business class. But you can always get one leg in business for other viewers.
I don't know about AirlineS, but I did really like WestJet. Until the airline's CEO claimed he "won't tolerate" his passengers anyway. That blacklisted the airline in my book, so I will not fly with them until that CEO apologises and/or steps down.
But it's an excellent airline, the staff and crew are awesome. Fun people, great service!
You don't have to fly to Calgary for the WJ 787 review, YVR is going to be getting the WJ Dreamliner for the YVR-LGW route super soon ;)

You do some of the best reviews music everyting very professional one of the better flight reviews as I do alot of travelling my self in Australia may be you come here do a few internal flights but quiet expensive so you won't be happy.

As a Canadian, specifically from Vancouver, I'm glad you like our airport! I've only been in the domestic and US terminals, but I've walked over the actual international terminal and it's so nice, there is a pond and everything.
I used to fly west jet a lot more when I was younger, but I've been sticking to Air Canada more recently. I don't have much to complain about for either airline
U said you've been sticking to Air Canada. I'm curious to know, as I'm from the 'states, have u ever flown Air Canada Rouge? I never have but I've seen a few not so favorable reviews so I'm wondering what a Canadian thinks about AC Rouge, if you've flown it that is. 😉
@@dodoubleg2356 I haven't. but I've heard it's bad too. I'm still a teenager, so I just fly whatever my parents book. I think my dad has taken AC rouge before, but he's not very picky and usually just gets the cheapest flight and it was a few years ago.
From what I've heard, I'd do AC rouge for a short flight (two hours or less), but definitely not for long haul or even Vancouver to Montreal.
@@AllycatlovesAG that's what I've heard also, fine for a short haul but nothing more. All the reviews I'd seen were Canadian cities to European destinations. It was something along the lines of a biz class seat on AC Rouge was almost the same price as a biz class seat on Air Canada, but offered far less services & were of a much lower quality. I paid $39+ tax to upgrade to row 2 on a Westjet YHZ-YYZ flight last summer. Blocked middle seat, tons of legroom and a simple breakfast. It was totally worth it.
BTW, wouldn't you be in the transborder terminal at YVR while waiting for your flight?
Yeah, the price is WestJet is charging for upgraded seats is quite good actually. Anyway, this was indeed the international terminal - or at least parts of it. I believe it’s a mix use terminal that they can use for either.

I did try Aeromexico business class once on the 787 along time ago, but I’ve been itching to do another one. Maybe this year!
First of all, what is the 'pilot at the stick' - it's a yoke on a 737 and it's not westjets 100th it's just the 100th of that model made by Boeing.

So sorry about that Aaron! It’s been going around, and pretty much everyone is catching it. Anyway, maybe later this year I’ll be able to try Virgin Australia - it’s been on my list for a long time, and I really want to scratch it off!
You should try West jet B787 from Calgary to Hawaii when available.
That would be a lot more fun than going to London! I do like London of course, but...Hawaii always wins. 😄

Was that the total cost of the flight or did u just pay an extra $20 for the Premium Economy seat on top of the base fare? Just curious...As to ur que, if it's an int.l flight I'd like to see Economy Class, sry...but if it's domestic, or at least in North America, I'd enjoy seeing a biz class (or whatever WestJet calls it) review.
