- Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Wesley Rotich has blamed the police for laxity following a dramatic incident where suspected bandits armed with ak47 rifles stormed the Iten County Referral Hospital and freed one of their own who had been hospitalized under police watch after arrest.

For the first time in the history of police force of Kenya, it used the logic of protecting citizens. Salute to those offices. it was wise call to put patients, doctors, nurses, and other hospital stuff life first .. on behalf of good citizens, we appreciate the officers. Thank you for your service.
Imagine if the police fight back in hospital , how many life could have been lost to day how many doctors and nurses could have died today, for what reasons 1 or 3 burndit ... it was not worth it . Some tell the governor to stop complaining and use his brain instead of his stomach..

@@jeffowinostv3981 actually the said gate was being manned by 6police officers,four officers manned the ward he was in unless all the 10officers were busy chasing nurses and female doctors I'd say they were in on it.

Gudos to those officers who where on duty. U find that those criminals r fearless. Because because if they can enter in n they know there is security inside what can u imagine from there? Definitely it shows that they were defiant n they were ready for war. Imagine inside the hospital. Anyway to me pongezi kwa hao officers. For remaining calm and opting to save patients n staff lives. Well done.
1. Why couldn't they have engaged them upon leaving the hospital or
2. Ran out of the hospital & waited for them outside or
3. Pursued them thereafter, not unless the bandits came with choppers and armoured vehicles.
I have always opined that our grade D (form four leavers) officers are no march to the O graded bandits.
Have a special unit within our force comprising mainly of these bandits (local Gukas) and solve two problems:-
1. End banditry
2. Secure our borders
YOU DON'T NEED A GRADE D TO BE A GOOD & FEARLESS SOLDIER.
