2:46 Yes, Paul Masvidal and Sean Reinert both have been involved in making the "Human" album with Chuck, this is where things started to get technical for Death, I'm glad you liked it!
I am actually old enough, and lucky enough, so I actually got to see them on tour promoting Human. Paul and Sean really added to Deaths sound and musicality, and that was the best Death show I got to see. But a bit sad I never got to see Cynic though, really one of my favorites bands back then. They were truly original and brought something fresh and different into the death metal scene, before they (after their long hiatus) evolved beyond death metal.
So cool to see you discover Cynic- true pioneers in Prog Death Metal, a band that deserves higher profile. Great musicians and songwriters who can take you on a trip to another planet with their amazing chops and compositions.
Please check out "Living Waves" by Persefone, the main vocalist Paul Masvidal was a guest vocalist in this song. This band is different than Cynic but I'm pretty sure you'll love them. Cheers from Turkey :)
Im glad you discovered Cynic. They are an absolutely incredible band. They truly deserve more credit. Thank you for doing this one. Here is to hoping you get around to that Bzyantine reaction soon. Cheers.

RIP Sein Reinert (1971 - 2020), the world lost another high class drummer (after Neil Peart)...

Ole Morten Persen I never had a chance to see Death nor Cynic, I also would like to see Atheist play...
I missed my chance to see Atheist once, I don't remember why, but most probably I was broke! Atheist were also really cool back then, and still is!
I'm old enough to have seen Death, but never did. Cynic I never got to see until the reformation, after Traced In Air. Met Paul and Sean, too!
