I must've first seen this when I was like, 11 years old. This video is a classic! Everything about it is legendary! The commentary, the gameplay. This guy, with a little trial and error, is actually pretty good at this game. Good shit, man.
He makes every mistake, falls for every single trap/obstacle the game puts in his way, but always learns from them and actually makes pretty steady progress throughout the levels.

Yoshi could see up your shorts I plan on making the first level immediately when I get it. I just finished recreating the level in an image editor, down to the last tile. I just hope Super Mario Maker has spawn zones for Bullet Bills and long firebars, otherwise I may need to get creative with SMM's rails and Bull's-Eye Bills. I also might need to make some other small changes, since the physics aren't going to be _exactly_ like Super Mario Bros.

I beat World 1-1 once without save states, so I'm pretty sure I can make the level, test each individual part, then beat the whole level. I now know there are long firebars, but the only platform that moves when you jump on it that I've seen so far is the Skull Raft, and when it's on a rail, it moves fast, and when it isn't, it moves slow, and from what I've seen it only moves 15 tiles before the skulls fall down. Not sure how to handle all that, but I'm creative, so I'll think of something.

Yoshi could see up your shorts I plan on making the first level immediately when I get it. I just finished recreating the level in an image editor, down to the last tile. I just hope Super Mario Maker has spawn zones for Bullet Bills and long firebars, otherwise I may need to get creative with SMM's rails and Bull's-Eye Bills. I also might need to make some other small changes, since the physics aren't going to be _exactly_ like Super Mario Bros.

***** Also, don't forget you'll need to beat it yourself before you can share it with others, so good luck! You should also do the second level, I think there is a video where it was actually beaten so you can use that to recreate it like this one.
I beat World 1-1 once without save states, so I'm pretty sure I can make the level, test each individual part, then beat the whole level.
I now know there are long firebars, but the only platform that moves when you jump on it that I've seen so far is the Skull Raft, and when it's on a rail, it moves fast, and when it isn't, it moves slow, and from what I've seen it only moves 15 tiles before the skulls fall down. Not sure how to handle all that, but I'm creative, so I'll think of something.
