Done my 2nd solo trip and I’ve noticed how I’ve overcome stuff and realised how much I overthink.
I’ve been traveling South and Central America for the last 3.5 months. I have anxiety and Complex PTSD. Putting myself out here like this (especially not knowing much Spanish) has helped me work through a lot of my shit. It’s the best decision I’ve made for myself and my mental health 🙌🏽
Great video
I’ve had social anxiety disorder since like middle school years. Over time it got worse. It become severe. After I graduated high school I’ve done nothing. Staying at home with parents. This year though I’ve improved some. I’ve been seeing a therapist too. My anxiety is so bad its so hard to get out of the house. I’ve never had a job before. Never had a gf. I’ve also Been overweight most of my life. Im 22 in a few months. I want to travel bad. I’ve been in my shell, in my house, in my bedroom alone depressed for too damn long. I’ve been looking for a job for weeks that could be a decent start for me. I also have back problems. Therapist and chiropractor bills my parents are paying for. It’s a lot of money. I might have a job at a agriculture farm. Have an old high school friend that told me about it because he works there and want me to join too. I’m going tomorrow for an application. About 14 hour shift though during harvesting and that’s very soon. Work is work right. Fat pay check I suppose.
Hey, thanks for leaving a reply.
I can definitely relate to a lot of what you're saying here. Social anxiety can be a bitch to deal with and I also struggled with it for many years. Until I started traveling at almost 24, I had no friends, no social life and still lived with my parents.
If you want to change it. Just make the decision and start taking action and your life will change. It won't always be easy, but will definitely be worth it.
I'm going through what u were going. I'm getting a lot better but its still so difficult. any updates on how you're doing?
0:00 he jumped RIGHT in :) Thank you so much for this!! I am prepping for my first solo trip in a country where I'm learning the language and it is reawakening my social anxiety a bit but I know it will help my anxiety so I am stoked! I am gonna look into volunteering at hostels!
Thank you for sharing this....My God, it's no joke😞
I did my first solo trip a month ago, it really pushed me, in a lot of ways❤

Thanks! Glad it was helpful!
I'm so grateful for your vlogs! You've calmed my nerves about travelling around South America alone
Keep rambling :)
That's awesome to hear! You just gotta go for it. I'm heading to South America in May. Enjoy your trip!
I’m 16 and I want to solo travel in a few years but I’m so scared because I experience social anxiety. But I know I have to do it and I need to push myself. Hopefully I’ll remember about this comment and update when I do it lol
I'm 38 and I still have these issues. Not as bad as it used to be, but it's still bad.
