- In this video we show you how to replace your Shurflow RV water pump. Due to our RV fail during our winterization process last winter our water pump ended up with water freezing internally thus cracking the manifold and rendering it unusable. We show you step by step how to replace your RV water pump and what not to do to avoid RV fails like this. Overall this is an easy replacement with the direct replacement as seen on our Rockwood Minilite 2109s.

This was a pretty big fail on our part, but this install was fairly easy with direct replacement parts . Have you ever had to replace a water pump ?

Agreed on never having to do this again . And I have no idea what you are taking about with the towel , lol
We have had to replace ours recently as well due to the backflow valve failing and allowing city water to flow back into the freshwater tank. Nice install video, we actually just installed an accumulator tank as well this week and that video will be coming out in July. It has made a difference in noise and even water flow. - Kyle

Good information. Thankfully I haven't had any water issues - Yet!
I saw one RVer that said they carry an extra (new) pump - they RV full X.. AK & other remote areas. I plan to get / carry an extra pump. Cheap insurance.
In past when I traveled across desert SW I kept 5 one gallon water jugs in my bath tub. Only minimal water in fresh tank. In case of break down I would have survival water for me & my 🐕..
We were full X-ers then.
Luckily we had our insta pot with us & were able to fill it with water for the toilet. Always a good back up tip though.luckily we still had access to water.
It’s always good to keep and extra storage container with you. And I do think on a longer trip having an extra pump would be some good insurance.
Why do you not use the antifreeze?
Personally we are not fans of putting antifreeze in our trailers. We don’t like the thought of having chemicals in our lines and the extensive need if you use your trailer during the winter to go through that whole process over.
These are just our thoughts and besides having this issue we have never had an issue with using compressed air to blow our lines out.
I hope we never have to do this.
It’s fairly easy, but definitely put a hamper on the weekend it went out.
