Nice job as usual. I know that card was just for coverage, but I would suggest to those who never done one, after you’re done basing the ground, tape off the bottom of the card, just a lil bit, then do your let down for mid coat, and before clear tape off the edge. This allows the next time when using same that card, your can check the coverage on ground as well as the mid coat as your painting to make sure your replicating the color from the card color.
You like using blow gun as a necessary step, I agree but do it a static gun. 1/2 pull To move air and full pull to remove static with a gun from DentFix . You will be surprised on how the panels take the color with static eliminated and Big time improvement on color matching bumper covers.
Have you ever done a matte or semi gloss finish on a tri-stage overall paint job?? I will be doing that on a Lexus that a customer brought to the shop I work at, paint code is 091, Arctic Blast pearl with a semi gloss finish.
that white on white from the1st tot he 2nd coat of base you cant see anything ... as far as where you sprayed already or not ... white on white is sooo hard to see for me .....
how do you tackle yourclear coat application ,do u fluffy the first coat and get the last coat wet and shinny just like brians way or do you do otherwise and how do u recommend ur aplication
Went to my paint shop to get ppsw paint and they want me to bring in a sample to match the paint? How does that work when it's a tri coat? I was super confused when they asked me to bring in a panel to match it. Is there different tones to ppsw? Is that what they are trying to match?
@@kandyman5315 well shoot had a shop do a paint match they even did a paint out sample and all looked good. Just got done panel panting and everything has a blue/gray undertone compared to the rest of the car! Not sure what happened?? Any ideas?
I do a lot of 3 stage pearls on the custom benchrifle stocks i paint for people. A lot of interface pearls over white as well as color shifting pearls over jet black. All mixed up here ofcourse. One that I dont mix here myself that I love is GM 140X Abalone White Pearl Tri-coat. The color of my LTZ Impala. Really comes alive at night under parking lot lights it just glows.
Would you be willing to sell me a pint or quart of this exact mix up? Im sure this will be a lot closer to what my local shop screwed up on. Please let me know im serious!
We'll I'm now $420 in paint since now my paint shop is telling me I don't know how to paint because of the blue/gray undertone In the base paint. I think the base is the wrong color! They say otherwise, Does your base paint have a blue/gray undertone or is it a white undertone. I'm trying to prove them wrong to get my money back in paint!!

As a spray painting beginner I struggled with single stage when I resprayed my car but it came up nice after completely wet sanding the whole car.
Was wondering what gun, tip, and type of clear you used on this job. Also, can you do a video of the car together outside to show the finished job?😊

I put both coats on wet first one a little faster of a coat second wet wet

Yes 140x is a great color owned a gmc 1500 in that color
