@@reggielacey2235 I can't tell if you are kidding or not so I'm just going to inform you that a fern is a type of plant with fronds of leaves branching from a single main stem to form a shape similar to a fan.
She didn't look at it because she didn't know what the subtitles were talking about
The subtitles said Look at the shida (fern in japanese)
And pekora goes What the hell is a shida -peko?
(In a nasally voice)
Did she get the broom closet ending. The broom closet ending is my favorite.
Jokes aside, the broom closet is one of my favorite bits in Stanley the parable lmao

The confusion ending is definatly one of my favorite of this game. The music, the pain narrator goes through, multiple restarts, its just so much fun. Though broom closet cannot be beaten

I hate how youtube on mobile doesn’t show captions on full screen. Makes it impossible to get subtitles when done like this. Edit: Only applies to non-android devices.
Maybe you have the screen zoomed in slightly so you aren’t seeing the captions? They show for me (iOS)

I was a big fan of Pekora until she didn't look at the fern. For shame!
she decided that there was no fern - (She needs to find her bucket though)

Does the humor translate well even with subtitles though?
as someone who knows 4 languages, i can say for sure: no. some of it does, but anything that even remotely relies on wordplay gets butchered in translation. if you know the original language you can still dig for the humor, but if you only know the translated one, you're probably just going to have to accept you're missing some jokes entirely.
Pekora's English is pretty good, so she might not be missing as much as someone who only knew Japanese would, I would think
I think the japanese take VERY long to read and put subtitles together. This comes with the language that takes extra long to recognize what each word is so they mostly lose parts of it there as the speed of speech is higher than the speed of reading what the Narrator is saying
@@FlameHidden if anything, wouldn't it be faster to read Japanese than English because kanji can be more unique and recognizable at a glance than just different orderings of a paltry 26 letters?
EDIT: though if I had to guess, the number of bits of information which could be read per second would be the same or very similar for any two natlangs
Was the game sound that low in her stream? I either dont get what the narrator says or blast the room with Pekoras voice
Considering that she doesn't speak English, it's not surprising that she kept the volume low.
