Not sure if you already have one , but a "telescopic" you may want to consider is the "Betop H2". It's technically made for Honor phones but it can connect via Bluetooth to android devices.

Hi MRAMS, video previews are definitely coming, as are more themes. Unfortunately though, a pause screen is just straight up impossible on Android, as it's way too restricted. The only way to do that would be to integrate emulators into LaunchBox.
I like reset collection better. You could set videos in the background and set it to your likeness. Not to mention is better price l. Oh yeah they also won't charge you to buy again if you lost your license key. Reset Collection in another level.
Really awesome that this is making a comeback. Still lacks ability to set different emulators for games of the same system. Some games just run better on one core vs another for the same system.
Finally.. welcome back launchbox android ,i already bought this on youre recommendation..but they deleted it for android useage. Hopefully i dont have to pay again. I will check this out in my weekend.
I feel like nobody talks about Lemuroid on android. Its retroarch but more user friendly. User friendliness does come with much reduced customizability but its the simplest way to run games of multiple systems that I have ever found.
I'd say retro X is probably the easiest. All you have to do is import your games it will do everything els. You have to pay for it though and the UI last time I used it wasn't the most attractive
Love it I've tried Dig before but not totally sold on it yet. Maybe it's time for an updated frontends video and switch you suggest/personally use, if you would be up for that. Maybe a video as well sometime on retroarch vs retroarch plus and what the difference is between the two and what cores you use for each system? Or have you got a video on that already or know of one that is available
I already think it has the chance to be better than Dig for best Front End in Android. Hoping they will continue to add some basic features soon though like favorites and last played sections in platforms. Also I noticed 3ds wasn't showing up. I'll definitely drop $25 if this gets those improvements. Exciting news for sure with the Odin and several other upcoming Android devices coming soon!
Hi MF, favorites do show up first in the list if you enable that option. But yes, we plan on fleshing out all of those features here very shortly. Per 3DS, unfortunately there are no working 3DS emulators that we know of on Android that work with frontends to allow them to launch games. Both Citra and Citra MMJ are broken in this regard; you can launch the emulators, but you can't launch games. Let me know if you know otherwise of any frontend that it works with, but we've tried and they don't work, unfortunately.

Makes sense on 3DS (you are correct, other frontends list 3ds games but just launch Citra) and yes I love the feature to list Favorites at the top of each game list for each system. Great start here and excited for this to become the go-to app for emulation.
So far after playing with it, the ONLY problem with it is the cost. It's the most expensive phone app out there that know of at $40. That is just so you get updates, sure you can go for $15 to have more than 100 games but, next year you won't get any updates, so when your emulator changes, you can't play anymore (docs say no more updates after a year).
I'd hold off trying android launchbox for a while. Its potentially the lost unstable application there is for Android as of April 2022 sadly. Consistent crashes, images disappearing from libraries, lockups, lag... so sad i paid 25 for what it is so far... but I'm really hoping the team will sort this out.

Since April of 2022 they've released Android versions 1.2 (June 6), 1.3 (June 13), 1.4 (July 6), and finally version 1.5 (for a total of 6 major updates in 2022 alone). And it's not like they were dead prior to that. In fact, were 9 major updates in 2021, 2 updates in 2020, and a whopping 26 updates in 2019. Apart from updates, there have been major community contributions too, including several great themes. So, let's be clear: Launchbox on Android is very, very much alive and active--and that's more than can be said for several other frontends!

Just got an RG552 and have really been struggling trying to configure things. I really want a clean, stylish frontend for this device and while I love some of what Dig does, it just refuses to work correctly for me. Going to give this one a try and see if will cooperate with my setup.

Example,I click super Nintendo, I see the genre banners I still have to scroll to find that specific game,is there a search bar to find that specific game in launchbox?

Hey ETA Prime can you do a tutorial on how to import custom emulators that aren't listed with Launchbox Android, because I want to use the standalone Duckstation emulator for ps1 games but it isn't listed and importing a custom emulator requires a package and activity name that I'm not sure how to get.
Duckstation on Android had problems for me, add it didn't support .bin rom files, like every other ps1 emulator does. I can select them to play, via the "Start File" option, but the internal scanner won't detect and add them to the list of games on the main screen.

The thing is we have to go back and forth to choosing emulator (in this case retroarch), choosing so much options inside the emulator, update and stuffs. Gosh this isn't even the start, downloading and setting up the emulator itself is hard enough
The trick to the whole thing is setting up everything completely with retroarch 1st. Try running games 1st for each system you wanna use with just retroarch and if that works out for you then choose a front end of your liking to make it look better, (not necessarily launchbox)
I added the games successfully but when I pick retroarch and then click play it says launching and then it just opens retroark. Any advise ?I'm missing something here
I got SO confused about this product at first because ALL of their screenshots are nothing but Nintendo emulation, so I had assumed that's all this was. Until I looked at their Games Database and ... they have games from the Acorn BBC Micro days?! WUT?! That's the computer I grew up using! :D Heck, I actually didn't even know the BBC Microcomputer HAD games other than real basic ones where you type in something and the "game" plays an animation that correlates LUL As a side note, they REALLY need to update their screenshots to show things OTHER than bloody Nintendo. They really are selling their product VERY short just doing that!
This doesn't play those games it's more like a fancy file browser specifically aimed at emulation, hence why you find BBC Microcomputer on their database. This app brings your roms and emulators together with a beautiful and customizable UI
It doesn't work. I did all the stuff. I loaded games. I installed Retroarch Plus. I downloaded core. And after I set it all up, when I press play it just brings me back to Retroarch application. Why? I did everything by these instructions.

Why i cant run my ppsspp roms on launchbox? Whenever i hit play on roms i scanned it goes back to ppsspp emulator with an error says "could not load game: storage/0/emulated/roms/playstation portable/god eater 2.iso could not load game: file does not exist" all my psp roms are located in one folder whitch is playstation portable and it seems launchbox cannot see it. I face the same problem with dig front end emulator.
Installed this yesterday and so far I'm enjoying it. One issue I've run into is that it doesn't seem to find AM2R Android game. Has anyone seen this issue?
It does work well on Android TV, though there are a few Shield devices that are running into some read only file system issues. Working on those today. :)

Can you set Launchbox to launch individual games with a different core? Like for example you use Retroarch for a system, however some games don't run as well and you'd like those games to use a different emulator.

If my ROMS are on a NAS does the latest version of LaunchBox work with Android 11? Android restricts external storage which is a pain with other front ends.

We need a Linux / Raspberry Pi version of LB. That would be the ultimate.
You know what's awesome? This Android version can actually be ported to Linux and the Pi fairly easily. So that is in the plans. :)

Let us know how you find the process, Launchbox looks amazing but I still find DIG way easier to set up.

Even though majority of folks love the apple iphone's but in certain areas android is really kicking ass with so much you can do. It Depends.

My one issue so far is that you can’t edit games it got wrong, and import a certain game on your own if it didn’t recognize it at all

We'll be adding Duckstation here very shortly. For what it's worth, the Duckstation Retroarch core is available in the latest version.

Can you set Launchbox to launch individual games with a different core? Like for example you use Retroarch for a system, however some games don't run as well and you'd like those games to use a different emulator.

Yeah it's separate, but only $5 for license, and $10 for a lifetime updates license

If my ROMS are on a NAS does the latest version of LaunchBox work with Android 11? Android restricts external storage which is a pain with other front ends.
