Lyrics
Help me
How would you gon' do love this way?
I work so hard for you everyday
While you out late night do what you do
Chillin' with-who? -
While I'm sitting at home
Come on with it!
(I don't know what this world is coming to...)
I just can't rely on you
I just can't rely on you
Yeah, you got that good stuff but that don't last (no way)
So I just can't rely on you
Oh, Lord
How am I to ever explain
How my melted heart went right down the drain?
'Cause if you don't want me
(Release)
Repeat
(Believe)
Want some
(Want some)
Take me
He will take me right out your way
Come on with it!
(I don't know what this world is coming to...)
I just can't rely on you
I just can't rely on you
Yeah, you got that good stuff but that don't last (no way)
So I just can't rely on you
Gonna go
Really
You can say what you want
But I'm out that door
Can't stop me
Oh, my man
Oh, Lord
(I don't know what this world is coming to...)
I just can't rely on you
I just can't rely on you
Yeah, you got that good stuff but that don't last (no way)
So I just can't rely on you
Just telling it like it is
Wait a minute
Wait a minute
Change your ways
Don't I deserve it babe
Look at here
'Cause that's why you drive me out of my mind
I just can't rely on you
I just can't rely on you
Yeah, you got that good stuff but that don't last (no way)
Ain't good enough for me, baby
Oh, baby
[Fading:]
I don't know what this world is coming to...
I know everyone is entitled to their opinion but I am not a punch bag. I am really proud of this music and this song and the video so if you don't like it please go quietly back to what you would rather hear as opposed to slaying me and what I have been working hard to do. When you hear the acoustic version of this, you will eat your words. Make sure you add salt!!!! YUM YUM YUM xxxx thank you to those of you who have said kind things and supported me. The album itself has something for everyone, old and new. I am bloody excited!!!!
Well said. You're pretty amazing and a lot of people know that so no worries ;)
And I've never understood those people who say: I want the old XY back. I don't like the new XY, I want the bla bla bla era back. I mean I know that you, as a musician in the corporate music industry, are a brand but most importantly you're an individual and you're entitled to do whatever you wanna do. If someone doesn't like it, they can go and make their own music and videos to satisfy themselves.
FABULOUS Paloma ... and CONGRATS! I loved it, but know exactly what you're speaking of ... which is why comments for GEISHA-MANIA! were disabled. Haters will be haters, and they're usually gutless people with zero capability of making their own dreams come true. With nothing better going on in their own lives, why not mock those that do?
I appreciate the work that goes into producing music videos -- I've been there. And while preparing to record two new upcoming singles and producing their respective videos, I can't care what anyone thinks.
As Marilyn Monroe said, "It's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring." Well, I, for one, have no intention of stopping. Best of luck, xo
Hurray! Good for you Paloma....I love that you speak your mind ;-). You work your butt off and produce some really good quirky and original songs. Your followers will follow you and the haters will go to hell (oops!) everyone Is entitled to an opinion, but I do not know why it is necessary for them to 'attack' instead of just accepting artistic differences. Focus on the positives honey. Go with your gut and if it feels right for you...keep with it. xxx much love Paula - Amazing Faith x
Paloma this song is absolutely amazing! I can't stop playing it! Focus on the lovely comments, don't listen to these nasty people who clearly don't have anything better to do with their time! Your voice is perfect! Can't wait to see you on tour again yay! xxxx
I'm sorry but she is so underrated!
Jay Brown She won Best female at the Brit awards you know
Yes but she didn't get nominated for Album for the Year which I read she was upset about.
Best female in the entire country is good enough lol so she's not underrated i dont think
Totally!!! I sang one of her songs for a
singing competition and everyone liked the song
but no one knew who it was by!! She's crazy good :)
LionRoseProductions Holy shit girl what planet are you from how do they not know who Paloma Faith is!
this song reminds me of my wifi connection
hahahaha
Amen on that
Felix van der Hoek Preach!! Brother, preach!!!!
Felix van der Hoek lol... that's so funny!!!
Fr
I'm Italian, and when the video started I freaked out o.O
Always happy to hear my language unexpectedly ♥
Except old egyptian, Italian is my favorite languege, my ears, god.. those sounds.. so facinating
How lucky, must hace been wonder
Esatto mi sono presa un infarto anche io ahaha
I wish the video could show the words in Italian (I'm learning it right now, and I'd love to be able to say those lines)!
PALOMA rocks just adore this track💜💜
Thank you for likes have a lovely week cheers Katherine
so do i
British quality :)
i just dont understand people's negativity. Paloma is incredibly talented, artistic and has a superb unique voice. If you don't like it, don't watch it! She's absolutely gorgeous and this song is amazing!!!! xxx
Who the fuck hates Paloma? Sorry, but Paloma has talent. Nowdays, her career is on the moment now.
If not@@christiansarrazin8564
This song will ALWAYS bump in my playlist! 2019 and still going.
YEAH....
2022 stil 😀
Dear God, there are no words in English or probably any other language to express to you, Paloma, just how much your music has helped me therapeutical throughput the last year and a half.
Your writing is just so deeply deeply human in every imaginable way, and at the same time your voice and the. Intonations and expressions of intent within them speak of an otherworldly woman that subconsciously, or maybe consciously, understands the far greater picture that we are all living in and experiencing “
Paloma is one of the few talented singers of our generation. And she has style, one of the things that I greatly admire about her. Paloma is a real lady!
у меня мурашки по коже от этого голоса и музыки, а так же актерского мастерства Паломы и декораций. Прям эстетический оргазм.
I have seen/heard this for the first time after seeing the accoustic version. Paloma you have some serious vocal chops and amazing talent! Keep em coming!!
She has a great voice!
This was amazing. Paloma has done it again. She's great. I can't judge the rest of her album, but so far it seems by her wanting to make more music people can dance to and enjoy differently, it's great that she didn't go the typical electronic sounding, mainstream route.
This deserves to go to the top of the charts and if the rest of the album is this good I can't wait for it's release. Paloma Faith is one talented lady
Im not being funny and i know people are intitled to their own opinions but all of u giving her hate no joke why dont u try to sing a song perfectly and completely original? This is amazing and Paloma is a really good singer.
When I hear this song sung by you I also hear the soul and texture and feeling that only Aretha Franklin delivers - amazing
I just can't... stop listening to this song, masterpiece
Dear Ms. Faith: I see that this video was posted quite some time back, but until a short while ago I was unfamiliar with your work. And then this evening I happened to see your performance in a clip from an old episode of The Graham Norton Show and I was utterly delighted. I thought, "Who is this slip of a girl who sings with the power of an Aretha Franklin?" and that led me to learn a bit about you and then to here. I must say, your choices in material truly highlight your astounding talent, and I look forward to both catching up with your backlist as well as watching for your new releases. Best wishes, Victor H (USA)
Victor Herron I found Paloma about 4 years ago, probably from the same episode of The Graham Norton Show. You’re in for a treat catching up on all her material. And along with her talent, she is a truly good person.
Tutti si lasciano
Le persone vanno e vengono
Non preoccuparti
Amare significa perdere e perdere e' amare
Il tuo spazio verra' tiempito
Le tue parole verranno usate da qualcun altro e potrebbero non essere altrettanto piacevoli
Ma quando si alzera' il sipario, io saro' li' ad affrontare la folla...
Love the Italian language 💕
Sadly the pronunciation is not so good :/
When she sung this on the voice it was the highlight of the whole series :3
To say Paloma is underrated is like saying Van Gough was a decent painter. Paloma's music is, well I have no words, okay I'll say beyond awesome. As kids say today, FIRE!!!!
It's quite strange to see how many people marginalize Paloma's talents as a musician due to the way she chooses to present herself as a performer. In actuality she's one of the few entertainers that can convey her avant-garde persona effectively. Her body of work consistently follows the notion that a performer conveys vulnerability through a staged fantasy to give her audience a sense of escapism from reality.
It's unfortunate that because she does not follow normative ideals of sex appeal she is considered a "creep" by some. She's absolutely breathtaking to me. A rare bird. Individuals like Paloma pose the question, "how close are we to being ourselves?"
She’s mothering hard 9 years later
THE GLORIFICATION OF SADNESS IS COMING
Already came
very different sound for Paloma, but I love the song, it shows her very good vocal skills too.
I quite like the song but no one can deny the similarity of the riff. Take me out is an absolute classic tune!
This is the jam! Few are making good music anymore. Thank you Paloma.
Best album ❤
Wow. Another example of why I think she's perfect.
MY BABY IS BACK AND AS BRILLIANT AS ALWAYS AHHHHHHHHHH
I love her hair 😍
Paloma another amazing song!
I always love watching and hearing Paloma, she has the whole package. Her music is amazing and the videos really compliment the music. It's like an overwhelming gratification of screen and sound.
Can't rely on you - Paloma Faith…
What a mature artist. She can really blast out some notes, the soundtrack she made with Pharelle Williams is incredible, which also complimented her vocals well, and she's probably one of Britian's greatest singers to date. But why aren't people listening to her and her sensational vocals?
+Jesse Hill theres 6 million plays only on this track what are you talking about xD
+ricaro531990 only 7m and its been out over a year... thats not that good. Hell chief keef and shit has alot more views
who cares its funny how people are obssesed with popularity just enjoy the music look at all the crap out there with millions of views....it its still crap no matter how many people watch it this is amazng no matter how many people doesnt
Agreed! Compl e mented .. by the way
Fuck no Amy winehouse was better 🤣🤣🤣
İ just saw her on the Graham Norton show, why havent İ heard of her earlier shes great
+Gökhan Exactly! I normally skip through those music segments. Hers was the first one I listened to in its entirety!
Agree. Great performance, better than this music video. If she added some dance moves it'd send her over the top, it's like a real cool James Brown song!
You've probably heard her song Only Love Can Hurt Like This somewhere before. If not, I'd highly recommend it
Look at the images in the video to understand; she is making a statement against the powers in charge of entertainment industry.
This songs is pure breed I adore it!!!
Why is this jewel still not famous after Only love Can hurt like this blew up on tiktok smh
YOUTH movie got me here
+Phil La Vie Beatz I didn't think she was an actual pop-star. I was actually just trying to find a few clips from the movie and whatta know -She's for real. Awesome movie by the way, everyone outta give it a look-see. I was intrigued within the first 5min. It's an artsy film but I feel it's what gives it the appeal.
me too! I didn't know she's actually a real singer!
Same thing with me XD
I knew the song but I had no idea who's the singer. I was surprised when I found out 😂
What a bassline !!!!
God bless YOU Pharrell !!!!
where is bassline? i mean which part
DiscursiveMusic From 0;35 to 3:37
It sounds pretty old and stylishly, don't think it's Pharrel's invention but still its gooood jooooob :P
her voice
How is she not getting the recognition she deserves?!
i like it! it's very different from her, but she said that want to sing more happy songs than more her sad songs...
Is this a Pharell beat? It sounds like one
yup
\
Yes they made this song together:)
+Merlin Bruce Yeah, but stealing Alex Kapranos' riff to make this song wasn't a very smart move.
Jordan Schlansky Dude apologized shortly after for calling him out on a simple guitar riff. He didn’t even discover anything, a Twitter user told him to check it out which is the sad part.
Musicians would be better off embracing the sample process instead of whining. So many artists from the 60s-90s are relevant today because of sampling. If Alex Kapranos was smart, he would have taken this opportunity to collaborate with Pharrell and expand his audience.
Dig through some crates and you’ll see it’s an art form of its own.
Great song, my favorite singer, keep making great music, can't decide my favorite song.
This sounds like a Pharrell song, lol
Yep... He produced and co wrote it.
Maybe just the beat...
What Hayden said
Sounds Better
She is diverse with her singing. Didn't realize it until now. So funny I had one of her music vids in my "favorite " for sometime now,but didn't look at it till now. Now I'm just going through all of her music.
Que belíssima voz, muito bom ouví-la!
2022 kicking it off to my best song and best singer ❤️
Ja, ja, und ja. Großartig Paloma einfach nur großartig.
She can sing amazingly, such a powerful voice and she has her own unique and incredible style, you may not always agree with her style but it's hers and personally I think that's something special
Why she's so underrated?? 😭
Wow! I can't feel bad that I have just found u n what a discovery! I heard this heartbreaking beautiful song but ut was the power if hhe vouce that made me stop, 'only love can hurt like this!' N then I saw the woman singing! I was impressed n 4 some reason proud then I cane across a show by accident PENNYWORTH I only realized that crazy evil little minx that pulled me in from the start was u Paloma Faith! I love that show n everybody in it but u my dear r a whole world of amazing just by urself! Thank u❤
Thank you!
I loveee that
Wasn't originally into this *new* sound that Paloma was giving us, but after a few listens, I grew to love and appreciate the sound and direction she was wanted us to understand where she's headed. It's original, and musically focused. I am very happy with "Can't Reply on You" and the new album. It's such a refreshing vibe from Paloma!
I just can't rely on you. Just can't RELYYY on you!
I'm here for Bet Sykes. Paloma is amazing.
We are lucky in the UK to have a great musical heritage , and you Paloma are very much part of that.
From UK 🇬🇧 ,yep u re right
love her voice
I loooooove this song, longtime fan of paloma but somehow i only discovered this song while i was watching graham Norton show. Truly addictive and refreshing
love this song! thank you, paloma!
Saw you on Graham Norton last night heard this for the first time I LOVE IT!!! Dope track, I'd love you to do a duet with George Michael, would be almost too epic for words.
anyone else just watched her live on the voice?
Just did... Awesome!
So did I, got my track ID up and running right away. This song is pretty cool. Sounds more like a gospel song that would be sang by a black person though.
is that good or bad, the black gospel comment?
Ray Breg from the uk too?!
No dear, from Amsterdam, The Netherlands... but watching the BBC!
Awesome Paloma, cracking tune
This is your best song.
This is one of the best dance songs I've heard in a while... Every time I play it I just have to dance... it's my jam... ;D
Anne B. Let's dance 💃🏼
Congratulations for the Italian language part, Ms. Faith! Came as a surprise for me (especially the Rs...my British partner did not get nearly as good after practicing for two years).
Needless to say, I love your voice and your music. Keep up the good work!
An Italian fan :)
I love this song
Amy & adel , faloma the best from Great Britain ❤️
I think you are a fantastic person, I am in my 60's and love your music. Carry on with your great work.
I think am only person who don't think this sounds like blurred lines?
I love paloma music and is is powerful I fully love it
It doesn't sound too similar to blurred lines, but there is a percussion line that Pharrell uses in most of his songs, even going back to the Neptunes when he produced Hollaback Girl. If you listen closely you'll hear it
yeah but i dont think of pharrell,to be honest am here for paloma faith and you can say that about a lot of music then, its used everyone gets ideas from everyone,am here for paloma not Pharrell
The point is that any similarities there are are due to the producer.
Yes same producer but just enjoy the music and not compare it ahh why do this
Sounds nothing like Blurred Lines lol so no you're not alone.
Paloma Faith u r a crazy genius!!! I am inspired by ur unique style ur stunning vocals and funky lyrics. I hope i can be half the musician. RESPECT! ;)
Just shared this to a co-worker
Hell to the yeah
Turn it up & jam it
WOW! Just love this Lady. Bit of Jazz, bit os R & B. You rock Paloma Faith.
Iconic
Holy shit, i loved thix song when it came out

I cannot wait for her album now, I love the sound if this song, this is what is called talent, her voice and her uniqueness... her album comes out like days before my birthday, that is sooooo my present!
She's perfect! I love the bridge & I especially love the Italian at the beginning x
Wow, I'm so late to this party, girl is funky and I love it!
what a soulful voice & song! reminds me of old school American blues from the early years. ❤
nah i actually love it, and paloma's well fit
my favourite Paloma Faith song, reminds me of early 70s funk.
DAVVERO MERAVIGLIOSA
I love love this song! How could you not want to get up and move yo groove thang! This song was on my wedding playlist.....
Singing. Real singing. I'm in love.
Cant wait for the new album if this is anything to go by it will never be out of the cd player
I really love this song by Paloma. It was played on my car radio and immediately I felt uplifted. Brilliant! I greatly admire Paloma. She is pure talent.
Paloma....your voice is beautiful, your look is CLASSY, and Artistic, and your sound is AWESOME! The beauty of this world is that, no one can make you feel inferior without your consent. Don't let them take your power. Negative people just HATE to see other people SUCCEED. They enjoy being BULLIES. BOOOOOO to all the negative people and all the bullies. Stop being so jealous. Like Paloma stated, Go do something more constructive. Because with every negative comment you bullies create war, and destruction. So get a life. Because Paloma is on FIRE!
Am I the only one hearing her say "you got those good stuffed potato legs!" at the part where she says "you got that good stuff but it don't last!" It's killing me because every time I hear this song I laugh at that part.
Lmao! I just played it back & pissed myself laughing. Hahaha
hahahahaaha
u win 10 internets
Can't unhear...must resist potato legs..
I usually scroll through comments on videos. When I saw this, I was laughing for 13 minutes!😂
I've been a big fan of Paloma for years but I only just realised that we share the same birthday! What can I say, all the best people must be born on that day ;) hehe
I saw Paloma in Rock in Rio in Portugal, and loved!!!
Excellent on stage and the songs are all wonderful allied to a single voice.
Congratulation for all the album
Absolutely love this song - saw Paloma at the Calling Festival in London on Sunday and I was blown away by her amazing voice - it's so soulful. Plus she looks fantastic!!
Soo damn funky, anyone else tapping?
Oh, woman!!! This is HUGE!! This is BIGGER than HUGE!!!
What a power, what a passion in your voice! And a beat itself of course! Every single part of this song is mesmerising! Love love love 💕
Greetings from Crimea 💙💛
Paloma..... 😍😍😍😍
Desde COLOMBIA 👌👌👌
What an incredible human being with so many adorable little things and altogether so talented and massively underappreciated as an artist ....love her ( platonically) and maybe just a little😁
