But when the family puts culture and nation above Islam, they don’t allow. I know a girl who waited 7 years for a Chechen man, and his parents never allowed, but he loved her so much. And she is a very warm hearted human. they didn't even give her a chance to meet her. So if u are in a situation like this, dont have too much hope. If the man is not a real man, and he just listens to his parents, forget it. They will never put a women over the family, doesn’t matter how much he loves you. In turkish culture we put nationality first, religion second. Because culture is different than religion. Islam is a religion, not a culture. Not every muslim nation have the same mentality and traditions.

I definitely can relate your video, here in Morocco we have our Moroccan Niqab is called "Haik حايك" it's White unlike saudi Abaya عباءة that is Black and other Islamic cloths, for men and women, so moroccans usually say the same about Niqab that comes from Syria, Yemen, Saudi, not that we hate our beloved Arab countries but just that we also like to preserve our culture 😊❤

I think its about balance between religion and culture because islam is a big part of the identity of chechen people. I also have nothing against niqab. Niqab is not from Islam. I am an Arab and I read the Qur'an and understand it well. After the death of Muhammad, unfortunately, the Bedouins and tribes interpreted Islam according to their environment and customs, then the Islamic empires came to interpret and spread Islam according to their political interests. The Islamic empires were really strong and influenced Islam and distorted it. There is no specific dress for Muslims, you are free as long as this dress is not transparent or seductive. Even the hijab is not obligatory for women, but it is a long and complex subject and takes a long time to explain. Islam has nothing to do with the Arabs at all. Muhammad was only a messenger and had nothing to do with a nationality or a people. Islam is a religion between you and God, and no one has the right to impose his lifestyle on another. There is nothing called " Islamic culture". You are free to choose your culture, but stay away from the forbidden or polytheism (Haram) and try to be a good person.
I'm not Arab so I don't understand Arabic and hence I have to review sooo many sources to come to a reliable solid conclusion. From what I know hijab/hmar (more precisely, covering hair and neck) is obligatory for women. Would you please let me know (in short - don't wanna take your time) why/how it is not obligatory?

I mean Chechen culture is a Muslim culture; aka a monotheistic culture which places emphasis on the moral law. Of course the Muslim aspect is spiritual and intern, and culture in most forms is extern (such as food, or clothing etc). Most of the modern day Muslims are just confused on the similarities between the two. Of course there are certain practices practiced by all people which isn’t suggested, but instead of calling that part of a culture, just call it a shortcoming. Niqab is not obligatory nor does it have to look like the salafi one from the Saudi’s. Muslims must be unique and diverse and remember God, your culture is not in conflict with that. It is just a wrong “philosophy” from modern mainstream ulema who have failed the ummah and confused us even further.

I don't have any problem with Burqa, Niqab or Abaya, everyone is free to wear whatever makes them feel comfortable. But they are NOT Islamic dresses, rather, they are CULTURAL elements of some nations that are Muslims. Not every Muslim wear those clothes. No one can impose any particular way of dressing in guise of religion.
Salam. I am sunni-sufi muslim. In my country we also perform zikr, but I like chechen zikr-hadra very much. So my question is, if I visit chechnya, would it be ok and possible to join chechen zikr (hadra) with them or it is also something that chechens will not welcome outsider and want to keep their zikr-hadra only to themselves due traditional cultural reasons? (just mentioning that if they will not welcome outsiders, I totally understand and have nothing negative about it. I respect peoples traditions)

Please read Islamic sources, yes niqab is not mandatory but it is included in Islam. Women can wear it in case of fitna . I only feel sorry for the separatist thoughts in this ummah.

Please read Islamic sources, yes niqab is not mandatory but it is included in Islam. Women can wear it in case of fitna . I only feel sorry for the separatist thoughts in this ummah.
