This is my custom build of the famous MG Barbatos. It took me two weeks to finish it plus editing and shooting the video. It was definitely a rewardful journey as I've learned not only to panel line better, but also a lot more about painting, and airbrushing as well. This time I've opted for the not so common look of red, black, grey and gold. I was a bit doubtful at first on the color combination but it turned out to be so much better than I've expected! Aww, thank you! I'm glad that you're inspired to start your own! To be honest, I've always liked mechas, robots and stuff like that but I didn't start building gunplas until last Jan and I've gotta say, this is a great hobby for you and yourself. You will get into zen mode while doing it and while you're at it, your mind will start to wander around more ideas and it's like some form of meditation. I personally would recommend anyone to start this hobby :)

I've always wanted to do something like this with my own Barbatos because it's one of my favorite Mobile Suits, but I don't really have the money to invest in high quality tools, so this is really nice to see. Very well done paint job, and all the smaller details are great as well.

A month ago youtube algorithm showed me a studio G video. than G introduced me to gunpla. im completely hooked i hope to one day use what i have seen here on my own builds. Ive only finished one kit so far,( Hg unicorn) got 3 kits and some tools on the way my second build is going to be a small Hg Barbatos rex after seeing this video i cant wait just to build one in HG thanks Studio G for allowing us to see your process.

That was amazing! I absolutely loved the snip editing. Before this video keyboard clacks were my favorite noise but now after seeing and hearing this I have a new one. You did great with the color choice especially while keeping the color of the clear parts. Stuff like this shows me how rewarding putting time into this hobby can be. Thanks for the video!

@@StudioGundam I can't wait to see it, I'm cleaning up the parts for my MG Barbatos. I really don't want to keep the original color of the clear parts. Do you think they would hold up to a priming and metallic or glow acrylic?
Aaron aka HanZ yup they definitely would. However I would stray from using too much metallic colours unless that's the look you're going for. What priming color would you be using for metallic?
@@StudioGundam it honestly doesn't have to be metallic I just want it to be eye catching just not pink. I could really go with a neon color in high gloss.

I must say black with grey with a gloss finish looks good, make me wonder if it is those colors I will do for another build I am planning. Been thinking of using orange instead of red.

Unfortunately I don't know how to do damage or weathering 😅😅😅 but I am willing to learn!
@@StudioGundam I know there are better gunpla related UA-camrs that do it but I would check out punished props channel, Bill is crazy good.
@@StudioGundam my biggest takeaway is a gnarly chip brush for exposed metal edges and things like mustard can be used to mask off areas when laying down coats. Because sometimes the expensive rubber masks are a pain to clean out of small spaces.
