    I'm not a diesel mechanic but I can often figure things out , this series DT466 ,seems to have issues with the power feeding to IDM circuit ,since it requires 39 amps.
    Before replacing modules I would thoroughly inspect power feeds from batteries to starter and to fuse box. Low or intermittent power will cause the same issues. The truck I just finished working on lost all power to IDM circuit because of corrosion between the starter and the fuse panel.

    Hey Joe, I have same type of symptoms on a dt466 in a 4300 . SPN 254 FMI 8. Unexpected reset fault “ M “ . In the AM , I’m going to check the fuses at batteries and trace them to starter. Hope I find the problem. Start and stalls. Thanks again. You helped me once before. Your a good dude.

      Hey Albert. By the sound of things it seems like you are thinking electrical. You say unit cranks over, starts, and then stalls. You might want to start with the fuses at battery. YES. There’s a few test you might want to consider also. ECM and IDM relays on the firewall. Check connector and relays for burnt signs. Also might want to look at ipr connector lastly. Try wiggling the connectors at the IDM. That will give you a idea as to which area needs attention.

      Joe’s Bus Barn - yup. Wiggle harness near IDM, and it stalls. This truck is eating my lunch. Tore into harness . I had a wait to start light and cranking Rpm s. but no start. No injector clatter. Havnt found any chaffed wiring but less than 2 volts at 12 pin connector near valve cover. No IDM logic power either. Supposedly there’s a 10 amp fuse on IDM circuit and I can’t find it anywhere!

      Albert Jones You have a fuse and a relay for the IDM. Is ur unit a CE. If so. Fuse is at the battery compartment.

      Joe’s Bus Barn - thanks joe. It’s a 2007 4300 . I somehow created a new problem. I was messing relay box on firewall. Pulled ignition relay out and in with key on. Think I screwed it up cause now I have no wait to start lights/ no dash lights . Previously I had power at pins 1 and 2 at ECM X4 plug. No power at IDM Pins 4,23,24,25 and IDM logic pin 8. Now I have no power at ECM on pins 1/2 X4 or pin 3 on X3. I had to do other jobs. So I’m going to make sure ignition switch didn’t crap out. 175K original switch. I have data system and schematics. Just mad I pulled that ignition relay and now I’m going backwards!! Hope to focus on just this truck this weekend. I may be in touch! Thanks for your help.

    Thank you. I just had this code on a truck that would not start. I swapped the injection relay and the starter relay since I knew the starter relay was working. The truck started. Let’s me know something funky going on with wiring.

      Where are you Joe? Just replaced idm on my 2007 dt466. I can start it, it runs for 20 seconds and cuts off. I prime it. Starts again and usually can drive away. Sometimes it runs like it’s new out of the showroom, other times it might be hitting on two cylinders. New fuel pump as well. Any thoughts?

    Hello Mr. Joe, I have a 2005 international 4300 rollback. I scan the truck and it's saying all 6 of my injectors are bad,which I can't believe because I drove it the day before. I had a minor oil leak on my truck and I'm thinking the oil got on or into some wires underneath and shorten something out. Do you think I need to get the ecm refreshed or replace the idm? Any suggestions will help, thank you sir.

      Hey there Orlandrious. First question, does the truck start and does it idle ok or a little shaky. Second. Are you pulling codes of the cluster or r u using a lap top. By what you briefly described. It sounds like your engine is starving for fuel. Check fuel filter and strainer. That might be ur problem. If I could have a little more info. I could do better.       That's the IDM lying to you, clean all positive and negative connections first and especially the battery connections!! They need all the power those batteries give. Clean, clean, clean. Then, swap the IDM out. Do the easy(cost efficient) steps first

    Have you ran into a code DTC 543, SPN 155 FMI 7? It’s showing a ECM/IDM communication issue. Found when wiggling the harness on the back side of the engine, can hear the injectors activate. 2008 DT466 international bus.

      We’re you wiggling the injector connectors or the connectors on the driver module. You do have a connectivity issue. I would check IDM relay on firewall. Is your harness good or is it saturated with oil.

    Hey Joe, working on my DT466. Injectors are not coming ON. No buzz from injectors when key is ON. All voltage readings read good. Relays are good. Truck cranks but does not run. No clicking from injectors. Thank you bro

      Check ur IDM connections. Make sure your getting power to the IDM. They do have a fuse and a relay that powers it up

      @@JoesBusBarn Yes there is power to the IDM. Had the truck scanned yesterday. Showing a code SID155 FMI7 "ECM/ IDM communications fault. All voltages check out. Have checked the injector coils for continuity and to see if one may be shorted. They all checked good. Had a guy open up the IDM and found 2 of the MOSFETS were damaged, as well as a couple of resistance components in the IDM. He replaced them, we went back to truck and hooked up IDM. Got Injectors to buzz 1 time, then tried key off and key on again. No more Injector Buzz. I was able to get my hands on a IDM for a 6.0 VT365, they told me it would be compatible, just as long as I program the correct parameters. Went and hooked up the VT365 IDM, still no injector buzz. Thanks for any help bossman!

    Hi great video. I have the same bus and it has no heat, the coolant heater circulation pump doesn't come on with boost turned on and the other heaters in the front have nothing either. Can you share a source of information on this bus? I can't find any manuals or technical info online. Thanks and have a great day!

    Hey Joe how’s it going brother. Hope all is great!
    What can you say about IDM reflash when replacing. Having issues with mine. Found a Cardone replacement part# 782004F. Spoke with a rep from cardone and they say it is compatible with my 7.6L DT466. Oreyli’s has it in stock, but shows as fit for a 6.0L V8.
    Rep from cardone says I would need to reflash it with my trucks vin #.
    Is this possible? What software would be used for this? Thanks boss!

      Having module flashed is going to be expensive. What make and model and engine is your truck. And are you sure you have a bad IDM

      Yes I first sent mine in for repair at a place in Florida. Truck tan great for about 4 days. Then same issue again, no injector buzz. Truck does not start now.
      Found a replacement at Oreyli’s from Cardone (part# 782004F, but Oreyli says it is for a 6.0L motor. Cardone rep says it is compatible with my OEM part# 1845117C3I have a 2006 4300 DT466.

    Where did you get a used idm? And are these idms servicable like the powerstrokes?

      The IDM I used was from a donor unit we have here at the shop. Navistar dealer says it’s non serviceable part. We found them on eBay. I’ve ordered 2 and they are still functioning properly. Going to try to find u a link to the supplier.

      TJ Bracken Couldn’t share link through youtube. Go on eBay. Search dt466 injector control module. The seller is from former Texas. Price is 420 for both ECM and IDM. IDM is plug and play. ECM has to be re-flashed by dealer. Hope that helps. Guy sells both items together for 420.

    I have an 07 doing the same thing, if it does start....runs good after warm up...but at half throttle it bucks/surges...kicks codes for cam and crank sensors...both replaced twice and the engine harness....sent computer to Texas to be tested, they say it's ok (they even freeze tested it)

      @@JoesBusBarn so a little background...engine was replaced ( jasper) ran great for 3 days, started bucking at half idle, tested fuel-ok, ran codes, cam/crank...replaced...ran great..
      returned to customer...next day same...replaced cam/ crank/ engine harness (found some bare wires from oil saturation)...ran great that afternoon. Next morning rough start, cam/crank codes again, good throttle, let warm up about 10 min, 1/2 throttle buck/surge...sent ecm bundle off...unit has a new filter housing and fuel line seals fuel pressures are good. It feels electronic...checked and double checked all grounds.

      Temp probes could be your problem. You have 3 of them. I had similar issue on a 2018 driver drove over something big and ripped prove wire harness.
