a little tip about scorpions is to look at their pincers. the bigger the pincers the less deadly they are. you know if they have little thin pincers they are more venomous.

Hi Chris. For reedy creek I use a home made 8 inch high banker. I am running straight fine rib mat in it, about 3 feet long, as this reduces the amount of black sand I am left to deal with in my concentrates. I pan them out later. Good to see the water level is dropping too.

Might seem crazy, but I've stopped using carpet in the hopper and -- minus a 6" piece of moss in the crash pad -- let the mats do their work. Not seeing any losses in the taiiings. And that's coming from super fine Indiana/US glacial gold deposits.

It ain't stupid if it works. Words to live by 😎
Here in Switzerland and probably also Germany/Austria? we know the Word "Providurium", which is the two Words "Provisorium" (temporary measure) and "Dauerhaft" (permanetntly) mashed together into one Word. It describes both temporary installations and repairs that never get replaced because they just work and most often do that even better than the Original. A good and well known "Providurium" is the Eifeltower in Paris: Buildt only temporarely for one single Worldexpo it still stands. Or a Machinerepair with a Shoelace because there were no Parts available at the Time, and when the Machine gets thrown to the Trash12Years later, that temporary Shoelace repair is still in use...
    Greetings from Switzerland.

When you mentioned clay I thought about the GoldHog highbanker with it's gate and wash method to hold the big clumps and pound them with water. I would guess the gold would setting into the upper most layers of that clay. Changing to that method of spraybar might let you get into the clay more and slightly increase the recovery? How did the tailings look? Extend the sluice with a flair into a wider sluice with some of that corkscrew mat for fine recovery?

You must be aware of the cyanide process for Ag and Au recoveries.
When your gold source is producing ultra-tiny flakes -- you can assume that even more gold is in the brew -- yet so tiny that it fades to BLACK.
Yes, hyper-fine gold looks black. It also responds to cyanide solution.
