Power pole’s 10’s on skeeter zx190 looks and works great just a bit Wobbly? Top heavy? Constantly tightening but not staying tight. Owned for 4 yrs now still not leaking :)
I love my x2 12' talons! Definitely a lifesaver in current & high winds! I installed them both by myself. As long as you clean them once or twice a year, they're very reliable. Plus I have built-in led white/blue lights!
@Steve Meeres I've watched several UA-cam videos & followed it. I extend them, clean w/ soap and water, hose them off, dry them, then spray a silicone lubricant.
I’m happy I watched this video. I’m about to buy a set of them & I couldn’t make my mind up on which brand to buy. Now my mind is made up! My buddy also has a set of power poll sportsman ll & he had them for several years now & loves them! Thanks for the info!
Absolutely! 💯 I have always had power pole even with the old crap lines breaking you hose clamp it up and keep fishing. Also you didnt mention the kick ass drift paddles for the poles. I just returned home from an A.C.T. tournament on Grenada Lake and the fish were so spooky we had to coast down wind to them and slow our drift with the paddles and pick them off livescoping.
My talons makes no noise i love them less hassle power poles always have issues they get stuck and youngot a big pump, fliud more weight, hoses , fliud , when the power poles hit the water they make a big noise which scares the fish away as well. TALONS #1
I have talons, I find then to be too loud.. I also had an issue where I was fishing in sub freezing weather and the talons froze to the point they wouldn't deploy.
Sounds like the same discussion that we had when we put power poles eventually on my ranger z20 been very happy with them ever since thanks for the talk glad I didn't go with Minn Kota
I have Talons, and to be honest they have worked flawlessly. No problems at all. I will add that the noise of the Talons is the only concern. I guess the thought of the Power Pole pumps leaking due to cable breaks is the reason I went with Talons. I’ll have to about my next boat though. It’s great to have choices.
And they don't make all that noise he says power poles are trash , I fished two years a Co Angeler and the raptors don't work, but never been stuck on a boat because they wouldn't work .
Team Marine - I purchased a 2021 Skeeter ZXR20 that came with 1x power pole. I bought an additional power pole the same day I bought the boat, and have been waiting almost a month for it to come in. Is power pole seriously back ordered, or is my dealer jerking my chain?
I have ordered a 2021 ZXR21 and have ordered it with the addtl pole, i asked about maybe swapping out poles for the new Raptors, butvwas advised unable to do that. Have you guys (Team Marine) had a chance to check them out yet. Or has anybody on here checked them out?
One thing i really appreciate about my talon is that i can anchor down to 12’ and at a dock or restaurant on the water. It’s like an extra hand when solo. Sticking it straight down, vs needing a lot of room to deploy. Never had my talon fail 5 years old 🤷🏻♂️
Maybe it was a fluke, but a buddy had a pair of 10' talons that were absolute trash. If they were representative in any way of the majority of those things I don't see how anyone could own them. We never knew if they would lift up due to cable issues. Even after being repaired they only so many cycles before the problems would start. They were also loud as heck. The switches suck too.
Aight, I want a boat that approaches 90 out of the shop; yes for crappie fishing. What boat would you suggest I get? 19- 20 feetish. Gotta have shallow water anchors and have a Force and screens and shit for both livescopes.
Had some customer that had talons an power c- monster with 150-200 hp that lost hole shot on trx 19 , my question is other than fast flow river or intercoastal fishing, how does I-pilot or spot lock. Not work ? I've not seen a problem . especially with old remote co-pilot
I want a lite weight duel system for a 25' pontoon one fore and afte. Oh and I want them mounted on the side so as to not take up what little room there is. ; )
Any thing to show on the talons where if you do your maintenance monthly or weekly of good use that the talons can be good. Love the idea of 15 footers, 23 ft bay boat.
I have to agree with everything here, You flat out cannot beat Power pole. Customer service is by far the best over anyone out there. I had a Talon on another boat and didnt really have any issues but it was heavy as hell and bulky. Power Pole is where its at period. I currently have two 10' Blades on my boat.
I have owned both and the power pole blades do not hold in high wind with my ranger z521c as well as the talons but I do agree power poles customer service is unmatched
Would just one pole be enough for a Tracker 195? At what point do you need two? Bigger than 20 foot boats? Heavier then a certain weight? Thanks for the review!
@@mikekohler6965 ayeeee thank you sir! I realized when you purchase a pole or talon it only comes with one, and they are already around 2K. Hard for me to justify buying two of them, especially if one will work fine.
@@atthebrink74 No not at all and they are put to work I don't baby them power poles one bit from anchoring the boat in strong tides to the remote bouncing around while running and them getting deployed at 55-60 mph
So many people commenting about the awesome customer service that power pole has. I have Talons since 2014. I use them every weekend and 4 weeks straight every summer and never needed customer service.....
I wish powerpole would release the total boat control unit they let me play with back in 2017. I was really excited for it and it still hasn’t come to market.
I will take a Talon over a power-pole all day. I heard a lot more problems he was mentioning with the power-pole. The power-pole has to go out away from the boat and then go down in the water. The talon goes straight down. The people getting them stuck in the mud do not have them on the soft setting mode. That is why the clicking sound keeps going on. Pretty easy to service them too. Talon is the way to go. And I am not sponsored by anyone. I am just a customer with a Talon. I think the power-pole looks dorky going out and then down. A lot of wasted movement.
I have constant pump problems with my 10 foot poles I have back up motors and pump and still fished a crappie masters with one of my two 10 foot poles and won, but fuck me, if I have back ups they should work. I might get 15 raptors. Power pole does have great service. Next to Garmin
On blades I like them but this year I got raptors and I am really amazed how they don't shake riding down the road Nd seems better built but we will see... if not great in 14 months I go back to blades
I found this channel when researching LaCrosse as I will be moving there in a year or two. Great videos guys I think this will really take off as more people find it. How about an episode on what to look out for when buying a used boat. Question, I’m looking for a used bass boat in the 20ft range. It looks like most boats have either a Mec 250 or Yamaha 250. I’m looking at boats in the 2016 to 2019 range. All the boats 2018 and newer are 4 stroke. Which is likely more reliable Yamaha or the new Merc? What about the 2016 and 2017 2 stroke Merc vs the Yamaha? Finally for bass fishing your area is a 20 ft or 21footer better. Thanks from a future customer.
If you only got beer money then buy beer. If you got whiskey then buy whiskey. Talon is the whiskey of shallow water anchors. Better made IMO. Solid units never had a problem with them. PP look like grasshoppers to me. Very twiggy looking.
I took my Talons off my Ranger because if something happened to a key pod I couldn't get it replaced so I sold them and haven't decided on Blades or Raptors
As an avid fisherman and engineer I’d always take a persons input who actually works on a system as opposed to someone who gets a new one on a boat every year.
Had a talon fail second time out, Minn Kota replaced it, the replacement failed first time out. I will never buy another one or even think about them again. I can however say that Minn Kota went above and beyond to make sure I was happy when I ultimately went with Raptors. Talons are a terrible design. Period.

Another good one. I like the PP. Especially decked out with led lights.. One is hydro and the other is electric/winch cable operated.
