The tradeoff for Clayton is that it's closer to the Triangle's largest city and all that it offers, but further away from RTP itself and the western side of the Triangle for commuting purposes. However, Clayton doesn't make these places completely inaccessible for occasional commuting as a hybrid/remote worker or to take advantage of cultural resources on a special occasion basis. As Clayton grows, I'd expect that it will eventually get more resources like Costco or other big box retailers that it is currently missing. And, if they don't come to Clayton itself, I'd expect them to at least come closer to a place like Garner.
Moved here from FL 5 months ago and there is nothing here. Closest stores are in Garner 25 min away. The YMCA is really small and there is. Publix but no Ross Target Dollar Tree And more.
Hi Erika! Thanks so much for watching the video and for your kind words! We actually don't practice real estate or know that much about the Goldsboro area! I'm sorry! I know there is an Air Force base down there, but that's about the extent of my knowledge.
My family is moving to Clayton and this video has helped in making me feel comfortable and understanding the area and possibly moving also. Are there Lowes and Costco Near bye and how close are Doctors and a Hospital? Thank you.
Thanks so much for your kind words Grace! We are so glad the video was helpful for you. You'll have to drive into Raleigh for Costco and into Garner (which is right beside Clayton) for Lowes. For doctors and hospitals you aren't too far away from WakeMed in Raleigh. Feel free to reach out at 919-694-4228 if you have any specific questions!
Retail is not great in Clayton. You still will be huffing it 30 minutes to Garner for a Lowe's or Target. And if your interested in quality dining choices forget it. None. Even though we are getting more "restaurants" I don't think our recent additions McDonald's and Taco Bell will excite you. Again your huffing it to Garner or more likely Raleigh for any quality. I will say the one quality retail we have here are grocery stores - Harris Teeter and Publix are both great. As for the rest of the retail it's truly a mystery why an area with thousands of homes can't attract higher quality retail options.
Don't be fooled by real estate people who ultimately only gain from your purchase. The area has changed a lot in the last 5 years and not for the better.
Thank you very much for this information. It was very helpful.
Thanks so much for watching! We’re glad it was helpful!
Just moved to Clayton 2 weeks ago!! love to see what is here to do!!!
Thanks so much for watching! Congrats on your move!

Hi John, those are all great points! I expect Clayton will get more of those amenities as well. Thanks for watching!

Absolutely!
Me and my wife are moving to Highgate Community in Clayton. I work in RTP. I hope our decision won't back bite us. Great Content!
Thank you! Hope you enjoy the new home!
Hey Sagun, am looking for property around Clayton. Is there a way I can connect with you to share your thoughts..
@@jitinkumar84 did u find what you are looking for, I'm considering Clayton as well.
How do you like highgate? Seems like a nice community
@@bane2256 So far it's good. A lot of construction is happening around. I hope the community grows fine in a few years.

Great job guys! We're in Durham & are thinking about Clayton- Garner area but also Goldsboro area. Could you do a video on Goldsboro?

@@daves9355 Thanks for watching and adding your thoughts! Hopefully Clayton will continue to expand its retail options!
Costco is also opening in Garner as well.
Maybe it was affordable 2 years ago when you made the video
My kids are moving to the area. They are looking for an apartment, could you help? They need a 2 bed 1.5 bath
Hi Monica! We're happy to have a conversation with them about the area if that helps them!
Can’t forget to grab some food from the Clayton steakhouse, never disappoints
I've personally never eaten there but I've heard great things!

Hi 👋
Thanks for watching!
No quality restaurants in Clayton. Been here 9 years hoping the situation would get better by now. Nope. The choices are abysmal.
Crawford cookshop is good
Ugh. Nothing is affordable anymore
Inflation has definitely tough post pandemic! Though its still more affordable to be in Clayton than living in Raleigh or other Wake Co suburbs!
