Margaret Lopez as a former smoker vaping has helped me and gum isnt a solution. Half of the addiction to smoking isnt the nicotine its the action of doing something other then nothing. Some people have a bad reaction to it thats just how it is. If you went from no smoking at all too suddenly vaping alot and inhaling nicotine youre gonna have a bad reaction to it. BUT theyre only gonna report about that. Not the thousands and thousands of people it has helped myself included.

Vaping was never intended for children. It was intended for adult cigarette smokers as an alternative and a way to transition to quit smoking. It helped me quit smoking. The parents want to blame the vape companies, when they should be better monitoring what their children are doing. Children are getting sick because they’re ingesting a high amount of nicotine that’s foreign to their body, when they’ve never smoked before. Sick of hearing about this honestly.

I've been vaping regular vape juice for 6 years and no health problems! The media needs to start reporting the facts! One can vape different things; regular vape juice comprised of Propolyne Glycol, Vegetable Glycerin and Nicotine is literally 95% safer than cigarettes. There are studies performed in the UK on it anyone can look up. Simple google search.

Exactly. Med student here. Most of the serious cases were rooted in excessive lipids (fats) found in the lungs, which (most likely) are a result of fake carts containing cheap oils - which are fats - as a cut/stabilizer for the product.
Vaping or “JUUlNG,” while probably not exactly “healthy” is unlikely to be the cause of this so-called epidemic, and it has everything to do with underage children consuming contaminated black market “carts.” Big Tobacco ends up the victor here, unfortunately.

However the only element of the TPD I agree with is the reason I gave... The ban of certain chemicals being used in some of the E-Liquids. So I think the TPD element should not be applied to vapes, but still have a regulation and for liquids to go through testing for certain chemicals.
Regulations on bottle sizes & tanks is stupid and has no effect on health, so that is less logical.
i used to smoke over 25 years and now 5 years ago i started vaping, i would never go back to smoking i feel so much more better. im curious what they are really vaping, i never have any problems. this sounds fishy. they are smoking something else then just vaping.

The difference between you and these teens is that you smoked cigarettes then went to vaping. The teens went straight to vaping, they haven't smoked cigarettes for 25 years. So their bodies will have less of tolerance than yours.
They are getting lipoid pneumonia for vaping black market THC/CBD oils. Lipoid pneumonia is caused by inhaling oil, and there is no oil in nicotine vape. People have been vaping for almost 20 years without issue and doctors that actually study it can't find any health issues from vaping. Some suggest that the nicotine could cause cardiovascular issues eventually, but so can lots of caffeine.
Smoking is nasty. Thats why i will never touch one.

Sauna doesn't use propolene glycol either 🙄. I tried a vape pen to quit smoking when they were newer and it left a waxy film in my mouth and caused my upper respiratory to be irritated immediately.

@DD BB Didn't quit but cut back drastically. You get the coughs from switching back and forth. Vaping takes about 2 two weeks to adapt (learning curve?). Instead of 1-3 hits off a smoke for quick fix, it takes about 6-10 hits on my vape pen (Aspire).

As a toxicologist, I can confidently tell you any amount, even a very menial amount, of Acrylonitrile in your lungs can be extremely detrimental. The quality of the product or it being sanctioned is irrelevant. It's all harmful, and this is only the tip of the iceberg. A lot of people, in the very near feature, will be hospitalized, dead, or in cancer treatment. A lot of people will die, and the pharmaceutical companies are gonna make a killing.

The real deal is that most of these cases are people buying STREET level illegal THC refilled pods that are either contaminated with some homebrew poison, pesticides, or contaminated with some form of lipid. These are not Nicotine E-juices causing this. The media loves a hot headline and knowing the controversial stance on vaping with teens this is perfect fodder for their bullshit news. And opium is highly addictive containing morphine and codeine, why would you tell someone to go do that? I would be careful to vape any THC product in a state that is not legal at this point in time. Side effects of prohibition but thats another debate for another day. I have been DIY vaping for over 5 years with 0 health problems and nothing but health improvement after years of smoking.

it is possible the person is allergic to nicotine and vaping way too much. i had a friend's younger brother that starts coughing heavily when there is vapour from the vap.

Personally from my perspective, I don't think vaping is harmful at all to be honest, as long as we only vape legitimate e-liquids made the right way and purchased from a genuine vape shop.

I'm pretty positive those people back then were vaping those off market thc cartridges with Vitamin E Oil added to them. The oil is not meant to be vaped, and oil is not water soluble, so I imagine that could coat the inside of someone's lungs and become life threatening.

Alex- I agree this is not an epidemic, however I don’t think you fully understand the word relevant. The news coverage is regarding teenagers developing lung issues from vaping, they are talking exactly about that. Not something irrelevant like talking about Donald Trump and his wall and vaping in the same coverage. Talking about banning or making changes to the vaping laws are relevant to the issue at hand.....kids getting sick off of this. You young man still have a lot to learn.
P2Feener 305 here’s the thing. There’s only been 6 cases. 450,000 die from cigs each year, yet there banding vapes forcing teens to either lose there addiction or jump to cigs. It’s not logical at all.
The REASON kids are vaping is because vapes are being advertised as “harmless” an alternative to smoking. Kids vape thinking nothing will happen to them, the companies should take fault too

It was probably shitty material used in a filter or cheap ingredients in the fluid. I have been vaping for 5 years and smoked cigarettes for years before that and I am fine. Don't use shitty products and you will be fine.

You cannot substitute one addiction for another that does not work ask any attic. Vaping does not stop you from smoking. What you want is the nicotine. So you go from one nicotine device to another nicotine device and that second nicotine devices giving you pure nicotine. And in the time it would have taken you to get to the point to where this young man was if you were smoking cigarettes. And mind you you would have to be smoking two packs a day for at least a few years to get to where this young man is right now. To where it only takes you a few years vaping. Neither one is good for you. That's the problem with our culture we didn't we beg for what we need and buy what we want and what we want is slowly killing us.

These massive number of videos came out after 2nd half of 2019 blaming e-cigarettes as culprit. Sure, smoking in any shape or form is harmful to health, but e-cigarettes has been around for years, and we have to wait for enough years to develop the acute lung problem? Aren't you suspicious that the latter part of 2019 headlines of lung failure could actually be Covid-19? How come we don't hear any e-cigarette lung problem anymore?
My step son is vaping from 15 (when we known, it might started earlier). He manipulates his parents saying it helps him relax and headaches, and they ok for him to smoke/vaping. Who knows what else he smokes.
I can’t fight anymore him and his father to stop smoke. He lost weight, he extremely pail, eats 1-1/2 a day, home school, doesn’t getting out from apartment, spends our money. Basically eats, crapshoots, sleeps all day, playing video games, talking with strangers on the phone, acting like he is the best and cool teenager and everyone is stupid around him, stole our debit cards information to sell for money ($10 per card), gets allowance from both parents, gets hair cuts and bleaching for $200, doesn’t want to go work at all, everyone is jingling around him. We aren’t rich people, driving ford and Toyota, his biological mother drives Mercedes and barely lives from check to check. I just don’t know what to do, I can’t any more live like that. Have that spoil teen in our house.
