I just learned this, really cool! I had to look it up because i figured the native Hawaiian people probably didn't have stringed interments or the use of metal, so where did the ukulele originate?
I have had a luthier in Madeira build me a machete, but finding more information about how to play one is not so easy. If you or anyone out there can help, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks… let’s keep this beautiful instrument alive.
Anyone who has ever done Hawaiian ukulele history knows that the Uke comes from this instrument!

What a beautiful instrument. Thanks Rob.
Enchanting.
So it's played with the thumb, like a viola da terra.
You make a beautiful sound with the instrument.

They played it mainly with the right-hand thumb, doing down and up strokes. Very few people do that today, which I think is a shame.
Sweet as birdsong.
I came here from a video that says that this instrument is like the grandpa of Ukelele
Verry Good
Delicious (as usual) !
***** Thanks, Val. You should get one!
I'm thinking about... ;-)
Mesma afinação do cavaquinho, seria este um instrumento antecessor?
Relaying the cavaquinho, this would be an ancestor instrument?
Hermoso
Thank you, Caro.
