What a beautiful instrument. Looks very well made and I love the tuners. Great review, again! Thank you.
Thanks!
Oh my goodness. I just wiped drool off myself.

Please review a kohala ukulele
I will ask them if they can arrange something
GotAUkulele thanks it's cool that you replied
I always try to!
Ahhh - the wonderful down voter is back. Might possibly more productive if you would care to share what exactly prompted you clicking the down vote. Maybe it could change things for future reviews. Maybe it would damage the brand being featured less? Maybe it would be just a bit more.... I dunno.... coherent?
WoW!
Wait. Let me rephrase that .....
WoW!
ha ha!
Thanks for the review. Certainly a beautiful instrument with great sound. I put this in the category of a once in a lifetime purchase especially with my limited musical ability. Thanks for reviewing it!
My pleasure - yes, certainly a serious price consideration, but I can see where the work has gone
Mark Caspary High-end instruments are almost always easier to play. Take it from a fellow wannabe who has been told he's "awfully" talented.
I love this. I'm attempting to learn some classical pieces in the Campanella style. This would be perfect. I, too, need side dots though. Boo to the down voters . . . don't understand what's not to like about your reviews. Some people get up in the morning looking for ways to be offended. Perhaps it's the only way they can feel alive.
Thanks Edward - keyboard warriors who high five themselves when they hit down vote - makes them feel special... Likely because they have little elese in their lives.
This Machete from Grenosi is very good, high level! I got in my hands in Vienna to try out by the way!
Marvellous!
What a great review! Thanks for giving equal time to soprano ukuleles! This one seems like a real jewel. I am curious. Do you think it's the loudest soprano you've play? To have so much sound coming from such a small and thin body is incredible. Mike Dasilva here in San Francisco, California, makes some reproduction ukuleles that I am told have amazing clarity, sustain, and projection.
Its not the loudest to be honest, but it's not far away!
Hello Bazz thats a Nice one.
Do you know the italian Lutier
Valerio Pennisi.
Historia Ukulele.
Press video you hear on of the best ukelele sound.
They say its better than Mr Timms ukelele.😏
Mario Van Der Zijden not heard of him sorry.
its not a cavaquinho . Its a braguinha from madeira!!! tanks for this video
It's a machete
Yes but we call Braguinha. Im fron Madeira and i play very instruments like braguinha, rajão, Viola de arame. Bye
@@GotAUkulele Thank you to show us this beautiful instrument. Machete de Braga, was called by some people of Madeira in the old times. Machete it’s a small guitar in Portuguese, small string’s instrument. Braga was the city that this specific instrument came from, it was a traditional Cavaquinho from Braga. Machete, Braguinha and Cavaquinho, are the same instrument. We have many cavaquinhos that might differ in Portugal, depending on the region. It’s funny when the Machete de Braga went to Hawaii, eventually luthier Nunes in 1895 made a beautiful machete with the strings and tuning of the Rajão (other instrument that also went to Hawaii with a slightly bigger body). I believe it’s where comes the ukulele tuning and bigger body. So amazing to see all the transformations and experiments along the time until they came with the beautiful ukulele.
For such a small instrument, it certainly is very loud!
it's remarkable
What a beautiful little instrument, and the sustain is amazing! Expensive, yes...but worth it! Thanks for the review!
What a work of art...thanks for reviewing high end luthier ukuleles!
Pat Iar certainly my pleasure! One or two more coming next year too I hope!
Sure doesn't sound like every other soprano on the block. Lovely personality of it's own.
Yeah, will be sad to see this one go back - tons of character
Hello, who built this instrument?
See the linked written review which explains and provides a link. Gregor Nowak in Vienna
Absolutely LOVE it! 😍
This was a joy to review - the stuff he makes is sublime!
delightful! i would not call it "expensive". that is just what a unique, handcrafted instrument in this league costs.
True - wonderful craftsmanship
i want a bite out of it!
You can imagine the trials Gregor and I went through to get this shipped for review. I salute him. This instrument was packed each way like it was an antique - thankfully - all went well!
I don't know why but the look of this Uke makes me laugh so much 😂 It's adorable but I think it didn't quite get enough to eat from its parents!
As Machete instruments go, it's extremely faithful to the originals. Granted - it doesn't look like a ukulele though!
what song was that
looks funky
very, but I really like it
gotta say I love that sound ....and the craftsmanship
This was so beautiful I had to find their website before hearing a single note from it, and realised that the price matches the look of it
Yep - serious builder and that means serious price. He's a real craftsman and that takes a lot of time and skill
@@GotAUkulele Indeed. I surely do see the reason behind the price tag too. And it's good to see someone who actually does put so much time and effort into ukuleles these days
@@JohnNoirSmith Yep. And of course the ukulele world caters for all budgets. I suppose it's like you being in the market for a coffee table. You could get a cheap one from Ikea that you bolt yourself and works just fine as a coffee table. You could also get a hand carved and finished table that does the exact same thing as a table. But... will cost you a bit more.
What a little beauty! walnut, sustain, volume .. if it could rub Vicks VapoRub on my chest whenever I have a cold then - Boom! I'd give it a 10 out of 10 ... Slim 😄
lol!
