- Removing and replacing the cam shaft on my 1996 Polaris Sportsman 500. These bikes had a known issue where the metal the cam was made of may have been a little soft causing premature lobe wear on the exhaust lobe of the cam. In this video I'm pulling the cam for inspection while im trying to chase down a running issue with the bike.
I just saw your video. Hopefully you have it fixed by now. I was going to suggest an air leak at the carb boot, bad cdi or faulty reverse switch on the left handlebar.
Great job,,I feel your pain,,Have one flooding gas coming out donut exhaust, changed carbs 3 times same thing cam is good rockers good valve lash is good plugs good ,deactivated kill switch. gas in the oil, wtf?
Great video!i have a 1995 polaris magnum 425 2x4. i had the same problem that you have. i had to replace the cdi box which cleared it up. i hope that this helps you out. :)
I own a 1997 Polaris Sportsman 500. What would you suggest for me to do to keep my ATV in good working order? Thanks for the video. This week I am going to replace my cam.
