My guy!!! Let me just start by saying that I have never been a heavy metal fan...like, ever, at all, in my entire life; but I absolutely ADORE Jinjer!!! Their musicality and composition is so unorthodox but so appealing. No two Jinjer songs are alike but all of them are great (subjective, I know). Early Jinjer was heavier and as time passed, they grew and developed a more progressive sound, implementing other genres like jazz, reggae, blues, ska and even a little hip-hop. But the biggest aspect about them that I like the most...the substance. The songs aren't just there to melt your face as you go about your day. If you take the time to read the lyrics...they're personal, speak to world issues and make you think a little. For example, this song is roughly about who is gonna stand up for mother earth. We're destroying our planet so what are we gonna do about it.
Here are a few songs I'd recommend next:
Pit of Consciousness - (Live from Kyiv or the OMV); both are great. Roughly about losing who you are when fame/notoriety enter the picture
Teacher, Teacher - (OMV) About thinking for yourself and not just blindly believing what "authority" (religion, government, parents, influencers, etc.) tell you
Cloud Factory - (OMV or official Live) Another song about humanity's influences on our planet. A little heavy but really good
Home Back - (OMV) Heavy but very, very personal to the band. Very relevant to the war going on in Ukraine right now, even though it was written about the 2014 conflict there

Good reaction. Jinjer loves to play with genres and they have the musical talent to quickly mash them up. You would really enjoy "Judgement and Punishment" (One take vocal performance) and I think you would appreciate "Home Back" (OMV) (subbed)

Captain Clock live at Resurrection fest 2018 is an amazing performance. Second half will melt your brain.
She is a femme fatale for sure, but her shy, introverted personality off stage just bring home what a kind, humble person she is, as the rest of the band.

Jinjer is pretty versatile
Our culture is very comfortable with "power is sexy" applying to women reacting to men, but not so much to men reacting to women that way. But at a primal level we are all drawn to the strongest mate we can find. Female power scares weak men, but for guys who are secure in our own power it is hot af.
I've been following this band for about 2 years now, and what I found is that they have a way of making virtually everybody like them as long as the people take the time to listen to the whole song. There's usually a process that goes like this, first you're in shock then you're in denial then you go okay there's something here and she's got something special. And usually by the end of the first song they ever hear they're dying to hear more to see what she can do.
And almost always men and women love this chica... And of course they all acknowledge that the band is top notch.
You hit both my 2 favorite bands Jinjer and Nemophila both different but killer bands. You really need to check out the Homeback video from Jinjer. It is about the war in Ukraine in 2014 and them losing their homes. Even more powerful considering the last years events.
The best band on the planet right now. Thank Jinjer for giving me the ears for Slipknot. I love these guys + the Queen.

i also saw someone talking about "walflower" that is really nice, camer than most of them, and if you want something a bit more hardcore (as my personal thinking) you have "cloud factory"
love this group, probably my actual favorite in metal band area, as Tatiana vocals are incredibles, a real pleasure to hear :)
It's indeed a song that calls for protest and to do your part, instead of waiting for others to step up, specifically against environmental issues. If you want a calmer song with fewer screaming (not screamo, that's a specific emo genre), try Wallflower from their latest album Wallflowers.
I remember long ago hearing her, SHE, Tatiana....Tati if your Nasty, for the first time I believe it was this song the very first time and then Just Another right after that. I was blown. The thing that Tati has, besides being able to understand her particularly well when she does her gutteral and fry, is her flow. She's got bars, flow and she has pitch!!! PITCH!?! She almost is Singing when she is in fry. She is awesome, the band not to be put aside, because they are all badass. But SHE, Tatiana? She is STELLAR!

If you stick with them a bit, you're very likely to grow to appreciate the growls / screams, as I did, especially if you pay attention to the lyrics to see how Tati's various vocal skills serve the songs. And since their creativity, versatility & sheer skill & talent are second to none, their undeniable artistry will surely win you over with a bit of patience!
"I Speak Astronomy" is a good one for relative newcomers because it's a great song with a cool video & just a dash of growling.

Try the songs "Beggars Dance" and "Bad Water". Those might be chill playlist songs for you and your wife. Careful if your wife ever decided to learn how to growl like that that might be bad 😁. Yup Tatiana is beautiful alright. No denying it. The live version of "Cloud Factory" for instance is not only a good performance but also a bit of eye candy when it comes to Tati. It doesn't seem to matter what she wears either. she always looks good. The songs "Mediator" (newer) and "A Plus or Minus" (older) are some of their heaviest songs. I have seen this video so many times. I just noticed at about 4:36 that the big Zildjian K on Vlad's far right has had a crack removed from the edge. It is amazing to me that a player of his caliber was still having to do that at that time. I think he is better supported now.

Hey Sebs, long time no see! Are you familiar with the Progressive Groove Metal band called Byzantine? Could you please check out Byzantine's song "God Forsaken"? (It's about a relationship, not God btw).
Byzantine is a big band but they never got their dues like Lamb Of God and Meshuggah did, I discovered Byzantine a month ago and I can say without a doubt that Byzantine is one of the BEST bands I've ever heard in my entire life!!

Great reaction and breakdown, but, PLEEEEAAAASE stop calling this screamo. Screamo is heavy emo with more aggressive vocal style, like The Used, and screamo is more of a non metallers term for anything metal, regardless of whether it is or not.
It's like saying Eminem is pop music because it gets placements in the charts and played on radio stations with other pop music.
Screamo is truthfully downplaying the skills this whole band encompasses.... it's like calling rap auto-tuned gang crap. Only the most ignorant would call this screamo.... just as only the most ignorant would call Tupac criminal negro music. Jinjer is next level, it encompasses all genres into a metal subtext... don't let your prejudices influence your opinion on original music, coz brilliance doesn't follow colour nor creed. X
