Given the context I'll allow myself to speak speculatively. I honestly feel like no conspiracy is needed, it’s just thinking with time. And it is falling into conspiratorial allegations which causes thinking (and even our character) to degrade, this is the other side of the saying ‘power corrupts’, and why ordinary people can be unprepared to deal with realpolitik and end up watching Info Wars and voting for false caesars like Trump (and also why Info Wars and false caesars exists to begin with).
'just thinking with time' makes me comment a bit on Heidegger. I don’t think we forgot thinking or that the sky and its divinities departed, they cannot. Their λόγος, calls to thinking and brought the caste of επιθυμία, and as modernity continues opening it up, the decision which falls to our action is a matter of τιμή. I don't know if being was concealed or not, but access to it has always been readily available, what matters to the individual is what to do with it.
And from a Judeo-Christian history, the departure of the divine which Heidegger talks about is at best muffled beneath the waves of the flood.
Not voting for either but if I had to I’d take Trump and Info Wars over Biden and CNN in a heartbeat
