- Mrs M and I spent a few days down in Glorious Devon, with absolutely perfect weather conditions throughout our stay.
This video features our morning journey on the Dartmouth Steam railway on Thursday the 16th of June 2022
Locos featured are: 5239 'Goliath',2253 'Omaha',3803,75014 'Braveheart' and Class37 6975.
My apologies for the unevenness in some clips, all were hand held, and old age is making it more difficult to hold the camera steady these days.
Bob, Just catching up on my video watching as it's been a very busy six weeks for me. Good to see you and Mrs M. getting out and about to record this splendid video. You really have captured the very essence of holidays by the sea in bygone days when the majority used to arrive by train. Regards, John
Thanks John, it's been the same here, I'm only just managing to get on top of things. This was a much needed break for us, and we thoroughly enjoyed it...Regards...Bob
A very enjoyable watch Bob & what perfect lighting to show off those views. If only we could rely on such weather throughout summer. Glad you finally got a 'steam fix' and you both enjoyed your break on 'our' English Riviera' 😁. Best Wishes, Brian.
Thanks Brian, that's very kind of you. We both had a wonderful stay in 'Your' Country, the steam was the topping on the cake. Best wishes...Bob
Brilliant video Bob. Great journey along this very popular line. Good looking locos. Fantastic weather for you both to enjoy. Looks like you had a superb time. Great filming that was very enjoyable to watch. Best wishes C&A
Thanks as always for your kind support, which is greatly appreciated. We couldn't have asked for better weather...Best wishes...Bob
Sent before I had finished writing! Doing this on my phone!
Great selection of shots Bob, Geraint
Thanks Ger, it was a well deserved break for us...a wonderful time in Sunny Devon.
Nice video Bob with lovely weather. I have to 'blame' that stretch of line for my interest in railways through holidays to Paignton in the 50's and 60's watching the Castles, Halls etc. making their way past the beach huts on the way to Kingswear. There used to be a miniature railway which ran behind the beach huts down to a point near the toilet block
It was a break that we've been waiting to do Austin, after Di's recent hip replacement. Still way behind with viewings, but will hopefully catch up soon....Bob
Viewings are the last thing to worry about Bob. Please pass on our best wishes to Di and hope the recovery is going well
One i always say i want to visit BOB ..made me want more than ever now ...
Hello Dave, it's a marvelous place, when the weather's right, with plenty to do and see..You and Debs would like it down there.

Good morning Ger, we were originally going to do North Wales, but couldn't get any suitable accommodation, so went for a few days down in Devon. The weather was perfect, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. You have good taste for locations!
@@robmasterman so glad you enjoyed yourselves. How is Diane doing?
Haven’t forgotten about visiting you but it’s been very busy with family birthdays. Our Annie (Sians daughter) was 21 before we left! Geraint
