I love this railway. I had many happy holidays in Paignton in my teens, and later when my kids were small. Going down to Kingswear and Dartmouth by steam train is just glorious.
Totally agree with you. We usually spent our childhood holidays in Torquay and the day out by the train to Dartmouth was one of the best days. Much more fun than the car.
It's certainly nice to see railways reopening. The cruise ships are a regular thing on the south coast at the moment. With all cruises suspended, the ships - normally out abroad - have a lack of places to dock. A large amount are currently anchored in Weymouth bay, as well as Bournemouth bay.
@@TheSouthernerYTChannel After watching this one, I had a look at some of the other well known ones which are attempting to re-open. I’ll wait until (if) they revert to more normal activity though.
Thanks very much for the kind words! It's amazingly picturesque, and the gradients on the railway make for some excellent noise. Not all the coaches consisted of compartments, however any open coaches had protective screen dividers to help enforce the safety measures. I couldn't leave the pride flag out, once I'd spotted it. I had to include it.

Some great angles there👍 What a joy to see steam being able to get up and running again. Love the patriotic flag wavers at 2.30!!!
Thanks very much! It's certainly a pleasure after so many months without.
Great footage of some much-needed western motive power!
Thank you very much!
One of the best heritage lines in the UK
For scenic value, certainly.
What about the North Yorkshire Moors Railway
Yep North Yorkshire moors railway is amazing,I’ve done that trip once while on holiday from NZ,but South Devon as a special place in my heart.

@@johnkeepin7527 Can only agree with you. Better safe than sorry.
Just noticed all the windows were open in the coaches. Probably required to do so.
Certainly would help with ventilation. It was boiling.
7827 is really loud going up those hills to Churston
Super nice :)
Thank you
What an amazing line! Amazing views and a beautiful train! Great catches and camera work once again! Are these all compartment style cars?
Also, Yay pride flag @11:38 😍
