It's a great question... the car certainly has the power to burn the hides just by mashing the throttle. However, we use the brake to keep the car in place for video purposes... we wanted to hold it in frame for a while to give the viewers a good show, rather than chase the car off our shooting lot at high-speed. We don't have a ton of room to shoot these, so we have to get creative. Thanks for the feedback!
Hell yea that Camaro would burn the tires right off that car just from a mattes throttle my 70 455ho GTO needed Latter bars just to help with not spinning the tires this baby could send a less seasoned driver in the ditch real quick
This car just sold at the Mecum auction in Florida for $200,000 on January 12, 2024. Actually, $220,000 with the buyers auction fee included. It was one of four COPOs being sold that day. A Yenko sold for 285k.
I hate brake- torques, you could do a brake- torque with a 6 cylinder. Car like that should just light them up and then speed out of control from there. Car like that should boil the tires through all the gears
This car certainly does boil the tires for blocks, but that's the problem... it's hard to shoot a big burnout in a small space. Hence, we capture the smoking action while keeping the car in place for the camera using a brake torque.
V8TV Even if you only did it for 10 feet. You didn’t need all the blocks. Hit the pedal and the tires light right up. Certainly would look better than sitting there burning the brake shoes.
My favorite Camaro ever is the 69 ZL-1 but I still think 67 was the best looking Camaro. I'd love to own a 67 Z28 but they are extremely rare so I'd settle for a 68 or 69 Z. I'm a Mopar guy but its hard not to love the first gen Camaro's
Bill Yates 69-70 firebirds with a 400 ahhhhhhhhhh god If you ever want to give me a gift and I’m not saying you have to but if you do feel the need a 70 GSX stage , a 70 Ram air 400 Trans Am or if I was really good that year Hi Shirley would never ask you for another thing if you just set a 1969 or 1970 GT0 ram air v I’m just throwing it out there for you to write down just in case...(wink wink) 😉

Squirmin Herman the one eyed German RIP PONTIAC!! ehhh stupid financial idiots killing the performance brand of GM. Especially after the GTO set the stage for the G8 he knew what was on the kind. I think he thought Pontiac had the performance but people can I get all the locks so then they got the performance aspect and audit into the car that was good I wanted one but just can’t get over the four doors and they had to change name like it it’s probably bc two more doors that we just don’t add these doors the jeans are selling great

You tell it so well Kevin .very cool !!
What a beautiful burnout
Ultimate camaro
I'm a Ford man but American ingenuity and passion transcends name brand! This is a blast from the past and I love it!
As a GM guy that's how I feel about the '71 Torino!
What would this have been if it had been a COPO/SS package instead. That would be awesome.
Too bad somebody didn't order the gauge package
Nice
SICK
Sweet ride Kevin!! The super smokey burnouts were AWESOME!!

Personally love the car but my favorite was the 67s

This certainly is a stand out. Great car!
I'm surprised that it lacks the blacked out rear panel. Either way, that is a prime ride.
Breathtaking
Chevy masterpiece! Awesome Camaro with super powerful engine!
Where is a time machine when you need one!
I hear you!!!
I would like to buy this Camaro for a price from 69. 😁
The most amazing Camaro I never seen
Episode #103: 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Berger Double COPO 427 , was nice too .
Thats one great car there sharp love the rs package
A car like that doesn't need a "brake stand" burnout. It is more than capable.
1969 was a very good year....I was born then! 😉😄😂
Cool car
AWESOME car! but my favorite muscle cars of all time would have to be the 1970 - 73 Pontiac T/A's
