CS Lewis my favorite author. I see with your short and the animation drive this point home; that is the idea of many atheists or new agers about the universal consciousness. We merge with it, are part of it it's said. Then they have divided humanity into those who will propel that ultimate pinnacle of human evolution (those that agree with their world view). Then there are those who hamper and prohibit this evolution from happening by their having a different worldview, especially the pesky Chrisrians and more Orthodox Jews. This universal and utlimate consciousness worldview is gaining and growing rapidly in US (and EU I'm sure). Notice how the singularity when AGI becomes superintellegence has paved (groomed) the gullible humans into accepting and aquiesing into an idea that removes their autonomy. AGI are programmes. Programmes with specific outcomes and this by people. Computing power and knowledge do not equal intellegence. Baruch Haba B'Shem Adonai 🕊
I don’t honestly see anything wrong with cryopreservation in and of itself, there’s merely a question of why you don’t want to come home to the Father. But I could see how there would be noble reasons. When God wants to take me, he *will* take me, and so in a vacuum I don’t see it as sinful. It’s no different than trying to prolong one’s life using modern medicine. One could counter that it’s unnatural as it actively takes a person out of the state of death, but then how is this any different from performing CPR or shocking someone’s heart back to life? It seems no different from other forms of providing longevity except for its extremeness compared to modern methods, which probably creates an intuitive sense of “there has to be something wrong with that!” But fundamentally? What really is the problem here?
I'm not sure how exactly to explain why cryo is wrong, but it does seem categorically different from the regular means of healing and prolonging life. For one, no other method of medicine puts a person's life on pause in every measurable way (besides induced coma, and even then, the body ages.) I think it's a little inaccurate to claim cryo is nothing new.
@@laimajo3547 “It seems no different from other forms of providing longevity except for its extremeness compared to modern methods, which probably creates an intuitive sense of ‘there has to be something wrong with that!’” To clarify this, I mean morally and in terms of intention, not the mechanics or technology of treatment. @@lebecccomputer287 Well, that's sort of my point. The categorical difference does mean the morality could be different. How you go about something does affect the moral status of the act. It's not just because it's new.
@@laimajo3547 it *could* be different. This feels like a trivial way of moral reasoning. I’m getting into the actual weeds of the matter and I don’t think there’s any reason to see it as sinful. Do you think it is? Then why?
@Lebecc The Computer It's actually not trivial at all. The act itself must be weighed when considering whether something is moral or not, not just the intent or the outcome, which are the only two criteria you mentioned. Besides that, my argument is that the intent, the outcome, and the act itself are *all* different from other medical acts. Putting life on pause (act) in an attempt to extend life *indefinitely* (intent & hopeful outcome) is not the same as attempting to prevent death (intent & hopeful outcome) in the moment by means of CPR (act) to extend life by a few *years* or *decades*. The intent of most medical practices (any good practice, that is) is still to ensure a lifespan close to the average for most humans, rather than one that is cut short by a tragedy or illness. (This is why elderly people often have a DNR order.) It is not to ensure endless life. Cryo would go against our basic nature and reject natural law by attempting to remove the limits of death. We are meant to age and die. Humans have limits. I guess I figured out how to voice my qualms.

But God is more compelling than AI and more otherwordly than aliens, plus He's been with us for so much longer ;)
You could argue humans are the same, and our input is sensory stimuli initially, followed by internal synthesis which is self driven by a programmed set of incentives. These both seem feasible to exist within an algorithm, even if it is farther away than we think
Yes, AI cannot "create" stuff on its own. However with its learning abilities, and within the limits set to it, it can pretty much arrive to conclusions and dominate various tasks much faster than the vast majority of us humans can. The trouble with it is really its absolute bent towards efficiency. That unless limits were sufficiently set it will disregard anything that hinders its task. Its not that it will destroy Earth and humanity, it will simply render humanity's learning and search for meaning obsolete, creating a vacuum where humans can't find meaning anymore. That's just my 2 cents.
It is completely absurd to suggest that people turn to alternative concepts because they don't have "God". That's just absurd and wholely speculative, just like your believe in "God".

Oh no, not the evil scientists trying to live longer! What's funny is that everybody seeks eternal life, even religious people. That's why they made up Gods and make false promises about heaven if only you believe and follow the rules.
You claim to be about science, but science is nothing more than exploring theories, testing them, and either discarding those said theories and starting again. What you and many others that claim to be about science are really nothing more than converts to scientism. You claim that we made up God and have to follow made-up rules to go to heaven. No, we worship the creator of the universe. In your world, nothing creted everything. I even heard a scientist claim that nothing is something when faced with this delima. I am sorry, but that is a terrible argument. You may say your God flooded the earth and killed millions. Ignoring the fact that God punished sinners who refused to turn away from their evil, in your world view, it does not matter what happened those people was insignificant since they were nothing more than water bags governed by chemical reactions. We are seeing what a humanist and secularist world leads to-chaos. The world got a taste with the hundreds of millions killed by godless communists. You may say religious wars killed more, which is demostrably wrong. Yes, some took the mantle of Christ and used it for evil. Humans are sinners, which is why God sent his Son; however, in your worldview, humans are insignificant specks in the universe. What I find funny is how the humanist world has stolen from the Christian world view and claimed it as its own. I pray the Lord will lead you to repent and bow the knee to him, your King, in this life, because you bow it in the next whether you like it or not. I truly hope and fervently pray that you will seek Christ and would gladly welcome you into the flock.
Jesus said believe but follow Him. He said He'll replace your heart of stone (dead) into a living heart. He will give you desire to do good. You don't as is represented on many religions earn your way in. Then maybe you were good enough to earn being in His Kingdom. I know many US religious ppl gey this weomg.or only give lip service to not earning it.
Religious people seek a relationship with the eternal God first and foremost. Eternal life is His gift to give, but the primary reason we worship and obey God is because He is the appropriate recipient for that worship and obedience. You, on the other hand, cling to this life and want to extend it as much as possible, because you believe it's all you have. That's the opposite of what Christ tells us to do - lose our life for His sake to gain it. Not to mention, our souls are already immortal. The only question is whether you'll spend your eternity in a loving relationship with The Almighty, or if you'll spend it separated from Him in agony.
Luciferian apotheosis: Man becomes God, an inversion of Christian divinity God becomes Man, a double cascade, rather than Man becomes Machine, tragedy becomes horror, Machine becomes Man, The Deincarnation.
The desperation of these individuals and groups believing they'll never achieve salvation in Jesus Christ, Lord of lords and King of kings, that they think they have to pull stunts like H+ to escape God's cup of wrath poured out. They know they will not inherit ye kingdom of God and are so beyond arrogant to repent. Jesus Christ is Lord! There is no escape The One who is omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent!
It is unavoidable though, we can’t live without machines now that we’ve come this far. I for one welcome the machines and want to work beside them, some things you must accept and adapt to or get steam rolled over.
“Is this not the carpenter’s son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas? And His sisters, are they not all with us? Where then did this Man get all these things?”” Matthew 13:55-56 Perpetual virginity is a retarded doctrine.

I will merge with Ai and become God.
Scary
Freezing someones head is a pretty easy to predict thing. Also, general ai is a separate thing.
Wow
Luciferian apotheosis: Man becomes God, an inversion of Christian divinity God becomes Man, a double cascade, rather than Man becomes Machine, tragedy becomes horror, Machine becomes Man, The Deincarnation.
Hmm....interesting
The desperation of these individuals and groups believing they'll never achieve salvation in Jesus Christ, Lord of lords and King of kings, that they think they have to pull stunts like H+ to escape God's cup of wrath poured out.
They know they will not inherit ye kingdom of God and are so beyond arrogant to repent.
Jesus Christ is Lord!
There is no escape The One who is omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent!
THOU SHALL NOT CREATE A MACHINE IN THE LIKENESS OF A HUMAN MIND!"
Frank Herbert, Dune...The Orange Catholic Bible
It is unavoidable though, we can’t live without machines now that we’ve come this far. I for one welcome the machines and want to work beside them, some things you must accept and adapt to or get steam rolled over.

He looks like a conservative Bbno$
It’s “prescience” not “presence.”
(For this conversation, ironically, spelled “pre- science.”)😅
Prophecy *
Till have faces is terrible. Surprised by joy was disappointing. Mere Christianity is Good. Screwtape is genius
“Is this not the carpenter’s son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas? And His sisters, are they not all with us? Where then did this Man get all these things?””
Matthew 13:55-56
Perpetual virginity is a retarded doctrine.
Most of the other top search results on YT for "transhumnism" are blindly optimistic and supportive of the concept. Good to find a counter point.

The ever-present fear of a falling sky is what keeps Christianity alive. It doesn't matter that none of it ever comes true.
It has , many times over and will continue to.
Christianity is mid lol
