To a European, that Eagle looks very much like the big Renaults of the late '80s - something to do with the AMC/Jeep tie-up with the French company, I wonder? My own first car was an early '90s VW Polo, the styling of which is known as the "breadvan" over here. Rusty as hell, basic, noisy, but importantly, MINE!
@@iana6713 If you look up the Eagle Premier on UA-cam, you can find dealer promotion videos showing the Renault badged prototypes. I remember working on some wiring on one and had to take out the horn pad, while it had the Eagle emblem on the front, it was obvious at being a Renault part as I saw the diamond on the rear side. I think I still have a horn pad to a Premier somewhere.

It was originally supposed to be a Renault for the US market, it is based on the Renault 25
