In Kung Fu Hustle, in the very beginning, Stephen Chow stomps a football and says “no more football!” That is a reference to this film
I laughed my butt off seeing that scene. Learning about why it was put in just compounded it!😂
@@solongdentahlplaan7975 Yes this film came before Hustle, and it was Stephen Chow kinda confirming there wont be a sequel to Soccer
@@inquisitive6786I think the mermaid is a pretty funny one as well. The one he did with the little alien doll was just weird though. I mean they are all pretty weird but it was more weird than funny in my opinion.
No one cares, the fact you bother to type this is pointless, its just another reaction channel to get free subs/likes to get free money, i don't understand why twits don't get this, you feel like we're friends with these youtubers
Kung fu hustle have better story telling and it so good this movie is amazing but not like Kung fu hustle
Stephen Chow's movie run in the 90s was legendary
Stephen Chow is THE MAN, THE GOAT, THE LEGEND
Yess!! the first of the Stephen Chow's double legend!!! Man, if there's ever a live action of Captain Tsubasa, only Stephen Chow deserve to direct it.
"Scott Pilgrim vs the World" is another "Smooth" Comedy.
It's a bit more "Video Game" than "Anime" but same idea.
Yes! Way more people need to react to Scott Pilgrim haha.
They are no blood brothers. They are brothers in shaolin training under the same shifu.
The judges and anyone was not stopping Team Evil because all of them including the officials all worked under Team Evil.
I loved this movie. All of Stephen Chows works are impressive
No this movie is 10/10 cinema. A perfect movie. I grew up on this one it’s better every time 😭😭😂😂
I've watched different reactions to this movie but this was the first time I cried laughing from the reaction 😂, Your reaction to the final kick was hilarious! 🤣
Funny part is, the guy who looks like bruce lee in this movie does play him in the ip man movies or other bruce lee movies.
*NEVER* Bother with Dubs.
Love dat reaction so much❤
Thank you Mair&Sophie ~
"they letting them score...?"
Dude do you even know how far the distance is from the midpoint to a goal on a footballfield? 😂
You should do stephen chows journey to the west, its a great take on the monkey king mythos
You listened to our comments and you watched it! THANK YOU SO MUCH! This movie was my childhood, it's absolutely fantastic and hilarious and very Hong Kong-esque comedy, Stephen Chow is legendary in the Cantonese-world, I only wish he kept making more movies like this. I've liked and subscribed just for this uploading this reaction! :)
bro i love this movie ... i have watched this movie a million times when i was a kid ... love from 🇮🇳
This was the first Movie directed and played by Stephen Chow if i remember well. A comedy really refreashing, then after he made Kung Fu Hustle and put a ref in the beginning of the movie for the "Shaolin Soccer's Fans". And some actors from this movie were in Kung fu Hustle too with really famous actors/Actresses from Asian movies.
I always loved this movie, happy you guys saw it! Funny reaction
always watch the bloopers!
Just note that there are a ton of other jokes left out of this edit of the movie.
Great Reaction!! Success!!
Great review , maybe next you all should watch CJ7 , and Journey to The West . Those movies of his was hilarious.
The legend..
I stopped watching this reaction mid way.. i hate when people put logic into movies.. laughing at every scene.."that's not real.. that's not real" I'm like you think avenger are real? Superman are real? I can't 🤣.. im off😂
Super bro😂
Fr real bro, they did that
I'm still at the beginning though I'm off too
Thanks for saving some time of mine
Peace ✌️
Ya know, Chow is great,...and i know he doesnt want to do sequels, but this movie reminds me of an old video game, Super Dodgeball, but soccer. Chow needs to make that game on the big screen, dodgeball with everyone having special powers,...will be gold as usual from him.
all the jokes went over your heads
God of Cookery next!!!!
watch CJ7 its similar with this movie and the actor is steven chow too
That movie had scenes emulating the scenes from Shaolin Soccer & Kung Fu Hustle. I cracked up when i saw those references.
The cartoonish exaggerations were meant for laugh, and it worked. But there are deeper meanings and philosophy behind each segment, like traditional practice (kungfu) vs technology (team evil), soft approach against hard attacks (the taichi keeper vs fireballs) and regaining your confidence. In earlier scenes those guys didnt lose their power or kungfu; they just let life dragged them down and they stayed down without a fight.
They aren't bio brothers. They are brothers through the same school and batch from martial arts school.
React to Cj7 2008 🔥👌🏻
',
Please react to :
🔥 *CJ7* (2008) 🔥
Directed & Starring by *♡ Stephen Chow ♡*
Cj7 👌🏻
Yes CJ7
Stephen Chow is the Asian version of Jim Carrey.
Press the like button if you agree with me. Hahahahaha.....
Why you leave him hanging like that 😂😂
21:35 - is the best comeback ever!
Cj7 it’s a good story. Please
‘ cj7 ‘ next movie
27:00 fr it looks like Bruce leee 😂
Pls react CJ7 2008 guys
I recommend you see CJ7, of course from Stephen Chow.
I think Kung Fu is not just physical but also spiritual. It may be better to say "spirit" is back instead of "power" is back. All the team memebers were with good skills but found not useful at all when earning a living. And through the friendly game, all were beaten physically and mentally, and then gained back the "spirit" with Kung Fu.
i Recommend Fight back to school 1,2 and 3
next kung fury?
OMG I watched shaolin soccer in my mandirin Class
It is Cantonese though?
The main character is Stephen chow. He directs, writes and stars in his goated movies. A top notch comedian.
Kung fu and shaolin both are different arts
please react to : Cj7 (2008)
same director/actor ''Stephen Chow''
I think now you are ready to watch A Chinese Odyssey 1 and 2,, with the same actors Stephen Chow and Ng Man
i think you guys ready for the real deal, the ip man movie starred donnie yen that in john wick 4
The goalie is the guy that play the axe gang boss from king fu hustle
It's not that they have "powers", the idea of kung fu is just like through training you're stronger and more in touch with "chi" like the force in star wars. The "power" is just their conviction and honestly... their dignity lmao.
16:41 😢
happy to see you guys react to the original audio version with subs! the dubbed version actually changes some of the lines in a way that I think don't help the movie.
Kung Pow!!!! Enter the Fist!!!!
We appreciate the subtitles.
Stephen Chow is the protagonist, the director, the producer and writter in both movies. His a legend in the film industry
I wish the movie subtitles were better in the old days.. the cantonese words and humour weren't entirely translated over T_T
try Gods must be crazy next i think
Next karate kid 2010
Even while acting, that foot on the head is mad disrespect
they don't have superpower like typical superheroes, they just have 'chi' through years of kungfu training, it's like how ninja in Naruto have 'chakra'. The problem is their years of kungfu training didn't help their financial problem, that's why they portrayed as poor looser who live in proverty before they decide to use their kungfu as Soccer player.
the version u are watching is the only one u should watch lol english dub is terrible lol
Audience barely feels the emotional aspects of Stephen Chow movies. They just enjoy the comic aspect.
38:10
React to munafik 2 ..
Cj7
Trust me you don't want to watch Chinese Kung Fu movies in English Dub.
stop putting logic into movies friends😀
Cj7 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Pineapple express
for chinese/Cantonese movie. I think the original voice is better. you get the real reaction. you lost some of the reaction when watching the dubbed version.
sad that stephen chow stopped making films a few years after this,he has started again but only makes a film every four or five years.
His next is Kung FU Hustle 2
Loved your reaction! Especially when you fell out of your chair when the goalie's clothes got ripped off 😂 You need to react to the bloopers tho
46:00 Fun fact : Shaolin Soccer (2001) has a smaller budget than Kung Fu Hustle (2004). It is because of the success of Shaolin Soccer (2001) that Stephen Chow got his biggest budget ever to make Kung Fu Hustle (2004), which you can see huge improvement in Kung Fu Hustle (2004) in physical special effects, CGI special effects, the scene sets and a lot more stuntmen and choreography (choreographer was from the Matrix).
Shaolin Soccer (2001) costs USD10 million to produce.
Kung Fu Hustle (2004) USD 20 million.
Stephen Chow made both films emphasizing for the international audience in mind. It is his first big break into western market with Shaolin Soccer (2001). He is already very famous and well known in Hong Kong, south-east asia, Asia in general. We love his unique style and humour.
what a dymbas thing to say do u know what ed's r? ppl cant just stop eating that easily lmao
Ahhhhh, yes!
I see you got the Memo following Kung Fu Hustle
Dude, I feel you. Getting the dubbed version of this and Kung Fu Hustle if you’re trying to do it quickly is a task lol.
🔥🔥🔥cj7👌🏻
I saw this before kung fu hussle and i wasn't ready for it.. Had a similar reaction to you had with KFH
Don't feel bad... the english versions of Stephen Chow movies are honestly atrocious. The original cantonese language is the best way to watch these films.
They're not brothers by blood. According to kung fu tradition, if you study together under the same master, you're considered brothers.
Oh no, you watched the americanized version. They cut down 22 minutes of the original movie length (so you have missed a lot of context), used overlays, rephrased the subtitles words, changed some music to english music, and they dubbed over all the voice sound effects, strangely).
and i am glad you "didn't" find the dub. because you need to hear from the actors directly. the original cantonese language is the best for the nuances, which is what you are hearing in yours, even if it is the americanized version.
I am glad you guys enjoyed this. This is one of my favourite movie. Though it is too bad that you watched the Americanized version.
The legendary Stephen Chow is the Director, Writer, Producer and Main Character for this movie. Same as Kung Fu Hustle (2004).
The above 2 are the last 2 movies he acted in :(
Mui is a very pretty actress in real life. Her real name is Zhao Wei. and in this movie, her make up for the bald monk character took 8-10 hours. It also took hours to make up for her Ulgy Mui character.
26:57 that one guy that looked like Bruce Lee, is purposely done so because... he looked like Bruce Lee. The goalkeeper is "Danny Kwok" and not only does he looks like Bruce Lee, his costume is dressed as Bruce Lee in Game of Death (1972). did you realize, he is also the main villain in Kung Fu Hustle (2004), the Axe gang boss?
The goalkeeper is Stephen Chow's tribute to his idol, Bruce Lee.
22:13 Hong Kong movies are full of real stuntmen. A lot of stunts you see are real, and dangerous and prone to injury.
like 28:37 that is actual stuntmen doing somersault.
Shaolin Soccer (2001) costs USD10 million to produce.
Stephen Chow's idol is Bruce Lee. The opening theme of Shaolin Soccer (2001) is a remix of Bruce Lee's The Way of the Dragon (1972).
Creators of the Avatar: The Last Airbender animated television series, are inspired by Shaolin Soccer (2001).
这是我小时候经常看的电影
anyone here seen cj7
You're watching the abridged version!
You're watching the abridged version!
You're watching the abridged version!
The way they laughed at the goalie getting his clothes obliterated lmao
Game Night is a funny one 😂
『God of Cookery』 One of Stephen Chow's best movies, you should see this.
An absolute trash reaction, this movie should be enjoyed without logics, keeping everything aside and just enjoy the movie instead of just trash talking
This was good a movie when I saw it. But I do think kung fu hustle was better.
This was way before kung fu hustle... it's still hilarious 😂
@@cognacyang9342 oh yeah it was funny I agree.
amateurs
U guys gotta check out Journey to the West next.
watching this always makes me want another soccer movie with crazy anime moves xD
Talk a little bit less bros
The team that fought them during training are the same gamg of people at that bar. The match was supposed to be a peaceful friendly match but those guys didn't have that in mind
Watch more movies like this :- crouching tiger hidden dragon, bullet proof monk, Ip man movie series.
Ok so some of these actors were in king fu hustle:
The goalkeeper was the axe gang boss
The short and skinny businessman was the second in command of the axe gang
The fat guy was stephen chow’s fat friend whom he sends away
The guy who kept dropping tools out of his shorts before the very first match, was the guy in the tram in kung fu hustle whom stephen chow and his fat friend try to bully but ends up smashing their faces in on the tram’s bench
And of course the barber from kung fu hustle was here in the dancing number when stephen chow steals the buns and runs away
Oh man, this is the cut version….. I commented about this on the Kung Fu Hustle vid, but I guess I didn’t do it in time 😢
This version cuts out quite a bit of stuff, and is why I recommend the original version, which explains a number of things in detail and gives much better closure on Mui’s backstory among other things, including how Fung’s beef with Hung started and the foot-on-head thing
