Ray Charles al Teatro Tendastrisce September 7 1981 with interview and concert introduction by the journalist Gianni Mina' . According to the Messaggero newspaper over 5000 people attended.
Indeed ! early 1980s I was a fledgling freelance photographer, not yet affiliated with a photo agency or newspaper so i made up a press card . I was given permission to photograph Ray , his band and Rayletts during concert . I was allowed access around the stage just so i kept my head down low enough not to block audience view like the other photographers. I got some great photos . I even went backstage post concert and got to shake Mr.Charles hand . One of the greatest experiences in my life . I'll never forget
52:49 Ray Charles gave us so much. He was such a great man of music: singer, musician, composer and band arranger. Ray even gives us some of Beethoven's "Fur Elise" . translation from German to english is For Elise . " Elise Barensfeld ,A German soprano and friend of Beethoven. Musicologist Rita Steblin claimed Beethoven dedicated the piece to Barensfeld ". Others say it was dedicated to " Therese Malfatti , A woman who Beethoven was in love with and proposed to in 1810. She was also the owner of the manuscript."
Mes respects éternelle mr Ray Charles mon père aime beaucoup votre music aujourd'hui moi même déjat adulte me voilà accro big respect mr Ray Charles depuis l Afrique Libreville gabon
Time and time again concert after concert country after country recording after recording Baby Ray gave audiences the music we loved him for. Ray will always be the best we ever had. I miss you Ray ___ thanks for all the great music. You are still my hero.
lol,,,, im Italian 3rd Generation from Naples.... Italians and Nego's :) are SO much alike :) Intense! Passionate!THey get MAd, They get Happy,, RUff and Strong and both LOVE MUSICA,, so YES,, I love Ray and i play piano,,, but Ray OWNS! the piano. so that is why the Italians were so Happy to see him,, All those things, and he even gave them a opera note when he held out that note in/ i 'think' it was Georgia,, LOL,, that was a secret tweek :) intelligent dude,, he knows about Italians and their Opera too... And we both talk alot! Ciao'
At 15:55 you get a taste of Ray the bandleader. A demanding taskmaster with the keenest ear, just like James Brown. He knew exactly what he wanted and HIS orchestra was HIS instrument. The soundboard operator probably felt like crap being chastised on stage during Georgia On My Mind.
@@dea1man obviously elvis' talent, popularity or maybe he was racist (maybe) - ray being interviewed I seen, his comments about Elvis were far from favorable toward Elvis.
I toured with Ray for 5 years - in fact, I'm the goofy looking kid at 4:00 - and in all the time we spent together, playing chess, working on arrangements, he never said anything negative about Elvis. In fact, I never heard him say anything negative about anybody, unless you were late for a rehearsal or a gig - or were a soundman. Check your sources.

I think he's chewing out the bass player for being too busy?
I think he said "Don't turn your amp up none" the bass was too loud
Love u Ray RIP
Outstanding!!!
Incomparable
That he could afford a band that big back in the day really says something.
Thanks for posting! I've never heard this one and I've heard quite a few with the "70's" orchestra.

Do you like pineapples?

It's too bad mr. Charles didn't like the man who admired him immensely - Elvis Presley. Was ray jealous🤔
