[SRB2] GFZ2 as Sonic in

I've never been into speedrunning, but I was casually reliving some nostalgia playing SRB2, and just randomly began speeding through GFZ2. I was doing it in under a minute, so I wondered if I could do it in under 50, which I did after a lot of frustration.
Then, out of curiosity, I wondered what the world record at the moment was, which is about 27s by the way. But I saw 3rd place was 36, and thought... 'hey, I could probably do that'. This took me about 3 hours to get, and even then, my final run was sloppy I think. Not bad for a first ever speedrun though, huh?

Nice run! The main reason I got 2nd here is the beginning. Rather than jumping on the shield, you should spin. Check my run for reference. You might be able to beat my run, who knows? Also, once you jump on a big block before the spring do a thok, followed by a whirlwind shield use.

You know, somehow, throughout all my attempts at this, it did not occur once to me that I should maybe spin into the shield instead of jumping into it, despite the fact that I actually did watch your run before, lmao.
Really though, thanks for dropping by! The SRB2 speedrun community seems pretty nice so far!
