I wonder if this genius took into account how HPD scapegoated a 30 year veteran of their force for a decades long failure and why no other deputy chief's wanted the job 😂
Amen He’s a Man of Integrity and dealing with city where most people don’t have any integrity let alone a care for living life My prayers to God asking that His Angels protect him throughout his chosen career 🙏
Finner went easy on his fellow cops, allegedly telling them to stop using the "SL" code to bury cases, but certainly never following up to make sure they obeyed. His inaction over the years on that blew up in his face. And then he was given months to submit a report on exactly what happened with the code, but he never turned in his homework. Satterwhite was temporarily given the job of acting Chief and also given months to submit a report on the code. He did his homework and turned it in. Did an awesome job at it too. So the Mayor gave him a promotion from PD to Homeland Security.
I really hope he’s an asset to the Huston community and police force, wishing him & the city of Huston good luck. Hopefully everyone is patient with him & gives him a few mths to settle in & figure out the issues
Idk. Houston needs change and a leader that knows the law, can quickly learn and correct the broken system and serve the citizens without a bunch of ridiculous politics attached. Good luck sir because you've got a hell of a task on your hands with Houstons massive failures.
Good men to do a great job. An officer of the law Hass to be one of the bravest honorable courageous self sacrificing job in the world.❤ it would be cool to have officers have more legal experience and to help articulate to the citizens😊
Katy and whatever level of crime enforcement and their accompanying jail system, is a much different animal than buck wild Houston Texas, this hire has politics written all over it.
Idk. The Mayor apparently didn't want to hire from within because those asst Chiefs were neck deep in the whole SL code problem, themselves. And hiring a chief from another similarly mid-to-large size city PD would probably bring similar political problems. Rinse, repeat. So he definitely didn't want that. This called for a different perspective. Maybe a PD of a different size, perhaps one that hasn't gotten so big and bloated and out of control, and one that has a cleaner, more streamlined image, might really help HPD? New blood, with idealism and experience getting things done with a smaller budget, and without the exposure to corruption and jadedness that comes with a giant organization, could help bring much-needed changes. Where do you go when your company has grown stagnant and lost its way? Do you just replace the last boss with a clone? A lot of mediocre companies do just that, but then they wonder why no real change happens in their results. Or do you poach a leader from a smaller, more successful company, and help him/her grow into the bigger company, while expecting the person to bring some of that success from the smaller one?

It’s weak for a city of our size to be recruiting from the nearby small towns. Hope this guy can learn fast.
Amen. I guess nobody else wanted to come here.
Ask yourself why no other deputy chief wanted the job, especially after they scapegoated a 30 year veteran of the force.
